Thanks @ErikaSt! Mine varies from 24 to as late as 32! Iv been a week late before and a week early so makes me worried iv got irregular periods. But definetly going to take more notice of cm next time and dtd more!

RobynC19 · 17/07/2018 18:49

So CD 56 my final blood test came back today they are getting me to do a re test tomorrow as my LH/FSH levels were low but there was an abnormally in my thyroid blood test so we will see, never wanted a period so bad in my life x

ErikaSt · 17/07/2018 18:59

@EllaR1 I had the same thought! Worried myself sick over to it to discover that ‘normal’ is 21-35 days. So I was just in there with the 22, and so are you with 32. 😊Apparently things like travel, a change in diet or illness can impact it, so I don’t think it’s anything to be too worried about.

Hope cm tracking works for you. I recommend wearing black pants 😉 This is tmi but hoping it will help you: I mistook watery mucus for dribbling after a wee as just not drying myself properly or having a sweat fest, wasn’t until I had ewcm for a couple of months and looked up cm cycle that I realised that was the best time to dtd in preparation for ovulation (which is then ewcm). On holiday a few weeks ago it happened, I thought I was sweaty but then the penny dropped that it was happening during my fertile window so I promptly seduced the dh and the rest is history 😉😉

EllaR1 · 17/07/2018 19:57

Ha ha @ErikaSt thats great Grin so ewcm is the watery consistency im looking out for? Im not sure mines that noticeable.

I thought its ok if your cycle is within the normal lengths (21-35) but if it constantly keeps changing length every month it makes it irregular. I think I over worry too much tbf!

ErikaSt · 17/07/2018 20:09

@EllaR1 So long as you’re within that range you’re ok. I had the same thought process.

Ewcm and watery are different. Ewcm is ‘egg white cervical mucus’ this is the easiest one to notice because it’s just like egg white/clear snot. You can’t miss it and you’ll know when you see it. Make sure you check your paper and pants. I found egg white more commonly on paper. This means your fertile and most likely ovulating.

Watery is watery and happens just before the egg white. You’ll need your pants for this, they’ll feel damp or you might dribble down your leg when you stand up after wiping. Also means your fertile and just about to ovulate. It’s essier for sperm to swim through. Which makes sense if you think about which you’d find it easier to swim in 😄 If there a bit early, they can then just hang out for up to 7 days and wait for the egg to come down.

ErikaSt · 17/07/2018 20:21

@EllaR1 Hope this helps. x

EllaR1 · 17/07/2018 20:31

@ErikaSt thanks! That helps a lot Smile I will make sure to check this for next time. I remember I got the creamy cm in the middle of my fertile week last cycle which confused me a little to think it was non-fertile.

ErikaSt · 17/07/2018 21:33

@EllaR1 you’re welcome. Good luck!

CookieWaffle · 17/07/2018 22:33

Hope everything is OK @RobynC19 or can be sorted out xx

Delilah7 · 18/07/2018 09:37

Defo feeling some type of way ladies. Feel exhausted - might be just because of all the other added stress I've had. Weird taste in my mouth. A lot of flem ( sorry ) and sniffling!

@ErikaSt thank you for the diagram. I’ve tried OPKs and found them to be a waste of time so going to chart my CM from now on. I have not had full AF yet. Only a brown watery discharge (sorry) on what should have been day 1/2 of AF...and now nothing! So I’ve no idea what that was?? Any ideas??

MrsA89 · 18/07/2018 14:36

@cookiewaffle I definitely need to take folic acid regularly.

Had pink discharge today. Think AF is on its way 😞 rather teary this morning. Trying to remind myself I’m not completely out yet but definitely looks that way.

ErikaSt · 18/07/2018 18:51

@Saraelle Guess it depends if it’s different from the ‘norm’. My implantation bleeding was like the start of my usual AF. It was only because it didn’t break out into full flow that I was suspicious. I had read online that implantation was brown but mine was bright red so doubted it. It was only because someone had posted on an old thread a description of theirs that was identical to mine that changed my mind. Mine was around a week after my fertile window. But everyone’s different.

@MrsA89 Booo! Don’t be too disheartened. It will happen. 😊

@Delilah7 Fingers crossed for you! 🤞🏻

NewSparkle · 18/07/2018 20:38

I knew as soon as I said the words, AF would come. Left me with a 34 day cycle this time so my fertile prediction days were totally wrong. So frustrating , how the heck is it this hard !! :(

jess21690 · 18/07/2018 21:03

Hi everyone,
Please can I join this thread! TTC my first baby with my partner, very early days as I only came off the pill (cerazette) 2 weeks ago.
Been desperately waiting for signs my body is getting back into rhythm! The last few days I had a funny almost tugging sensation in my lower tummy, not painful just odd. Then this morning I had the egg white CM that I have read so much about!! It was still there at about 4pm but now this evening it is back to creamy and lotiony. Was really hoping this was a sign I was ovulating again but with it going so quickly I'm not sure! Any advice? Would we still have a chance if we DTD tonight even though the EWCM had changed? I know it's really early, but my parents had fertility treatment to have me (GIFT) due to unexplained infertility so I'm quite anxious.
Thank you and good luck to everyone!

GreyC · 18/07/2018 22:24

Can I join too? My fiancé & I Are TTC first baby; this month was more of ‘ we are going to not use protection’ have been off th pill since last September so hopefully everything is working correctly. Pretty sure I’m all out this month as I’m cramping etc. Shall see what next month brings!

Saraelle · 19/07/2018 07:29

@ErikaSt I have no idea what my norm is 😂 so going to chart symptoms and start seeing what happens. I’ve read implantation bleed is bright read so would not expect this to be that, but you never know. I just know that the proper AF has not shown up.

Welcome newbies 👋🏻

EllaR1 · 19/07/2018 11:21

Hey girls,

I want to ask what everyones thoughts is about getting pregnant after starting a new job!?

Iv been working from home the last year (with part time work), but im now going back into a career and I start my new job on Monday! Im obviously worried about getting pregnant straight away and I will have to tell them. Do you think im best putting it on hold ttc, as this isnt really what I want to do having already been trying for a year and also my age. I was going to go to my gp next month to look into it but I could put it off for 6months and carry or trying naturally?

TIA xx

MrsO10D · 19/07/2018 12:17

Hi EllaR1

That's a hard one. The answer of which can only really come from you and your DP.

[Although saying that] If I were in your position, I would consider a couple of things: it might take you another three months or longer to conceive - if it does, you will have been in your role for a year which would qualify you for maternity leave pay (if your employer is one that only offers the nicer mat leave packages after a year's service - rather than statutory mat pay which I believe you are eligible for after six months of service). I am not sure whether in some places you have to have been in the role for 12 months before your final 15 weeks or not.. Also I believe that you are not required to tell your employer about a pregnancy until you have 15 weeks to go.

These are only muddlings in my mind and things that I would think about. Whatever you decide will be the right decision for you. Smile

Also want to caveat that I'm not an HR expert - just things I'm trying to remember from working in a corporate (I own my own little business now).

Hope my ramblings are helpful Smile

EllaR1 · 19/07/2018 12:47

Thanks @MrsO10D, your right it may take another few months or so anyway. We could keep going but not really try properly if you know what I mean. I will be working for the NHS and I think you need to of worked for 26 weeks by the beginning of the 15th week before childbirth which works out 9months which I will of done.

Its just having waited so long for this I just cant put it on hold and im hoping my new manager will be understanding when it comes to that. Having said that my probation period is 6 months, is he able to dismiss me from my job if I did become pregnant within that time?

MrsO10D · 19/07/2018 12:54

Hi EllaR1 - I very much doubt that he could. All businesses including the public sector need to tread very carefully as to avoid any legal uncertainty. Worth having a look at your contract and the fine print though...

Also - as I completely forgot to mention it - congratulations on your new job!

ErikaSt · 19/07/2018 13:13

@EllaR1 I think safeguarding potential maternity leave is the key. So long as you’re ok, I wouldn’t worry about your employer. The public sector are well known for looking after their staff from that point of view - a lot of red tape. Could you imagine the press if the nhs got shot of an employee because they found they were pregnant?!

You’ve just got to do what’s right for you. You might find that taking ‘a break’ might be mentally beneficial to you if you’ve been trying that long. So many times you hear people stop trying then fall pregnant. Even so, if you have been trying for a year it may be good to see the doctor anyway just to check everything’s ok.

Delilah7 · 19/07/2018 13:26

@EllaR1 I'm very lucky to have a boss that understands so I can really relate to why this would be playing on your mind as it did me before I told him!
you don't need to inform them yet, but if you know you're going to worry about it maybe it's best too.... I'd just be careful as it's always an awkward conversation as you never know what they'll say!

ChaosMoon · 19/07/2018 13:54

Oh my god, I've missed loads! Congratulations @AmyLouise94.
@RobynC19 of they know, they can do something. I hope your cycle can be straightened out soon.
@Delilah7, that's exciting, where are you in your cycle?

@EllaR1, don't put it off! (My view, which you must feel free to ignore) A woman I work with was 4 months pregnant when she joined us. Not ideal, only got statutory mat leave, but really not the end of the world. She worked hard to make her mark before she left and then she was welcomed back with open arms. If you stop and try again later, it will only be more stressful than it is now, and that won't help.

Baby dust to everyone.

Fae28 · 19/07/2018 13:58

Hi trying to conceive on cycle 7 now. Hoping this is the month. Getting down hearted now. How long did it take people 😊x
