ov after cerazette

I can't find any recent threads about this but I came off cerazette in Feb and had a bleed about 3 weeks later. I'm sure I then ovulated as I had quite bad over pains but since then I'm not convinced I've ov any cycle. Started doing opks and bbt this cycle and had a surge at around the time I'd expect but I've not had a temp rise. I'm now 4 cycles in, does anyone have any experience of ov returning after cerazette?

We ttc 3 years for dc2 and I'm worried I'm going to have problems again. Time isn't on my side (38) and I'm now kicking myself for letting the Dr put me on a pop as I have a short LP anyway and in the past have needed progesterone supplementation. Any help/stories welcome Smile

I also came of cerazette in February (just after Valentine's day) and had my withdrawal bleed a few days afterwards.

I didn't ovulate my first cycle off, which was 26 days, and then my period was really light and nothingy. The next month I ovulated on day 13 (makes sense with a 26 day cycle) which was supported by checking my CM and observing ovulation pain.

So it came back pretty quickly for me, but I think that had a lot to do with my withdrawal bleed being so soon and heavy. Were you getting periods on Cerazette? I was, and I think that may have also helped my body get back on track.

Fx for you :)

Thanks @Stephisaur, I did have the occasional light period every 6 weeks or so, well I say light period but more like heavy spotting. I'm almost positive I ov in my first proper cycle as I had awful ov pain (which is usual for me) but nothing since and my temps aren't looking good for this month. I also have had practically no cm at all never mind ewcm so that's another sign to me that I've not. I'll just have to wait and see I guess, it's so frustrating!

I had pain the first month, but no EWCM. The following month I had A LOT of EWCM, so it was a noticeable change.

Hopefully your body gives itself a kick up the arse and gets going :)

Hi,

I stopped contraception mid December 2017 to TTC #1. Got a 5 day period 6 weeks later.

Since then on 3 occasions I have had 2 days of very light bleeding (doesn't seem like a proper period). My cycles have been 44days, 21 days, 44days, 24 days and I'm now on cd24 again of a new cycle.

I don't think I'm ovulating according to my temp charts but it appears my body gears up to ovulate going by EWCM/OPKs etc. I've had an ultrasound which showed everything is fine but I don't get why I'm not ovulating xx

This is interesting to read thanks all. I also have stopped Cerazette and am TTC. I had a break through bleed after about 3 weeks. This month I am pretty sure I have ovulated (o.p.k recorded flashing then static smiley) and I have had ovulation pains, however like Stephisaur no EWCM this first month. I hope it returns next month!

Fat fingers posted too soon! When you were having your u/s did they give you any idea of what could stop ovulation? How long were you on the pill for? X

I was on cerelle pill (v similar to cerazette) for 6 months before stopping it and before that I had the implant in for years. I had no periods on the implant or mini pill.
I think it's something to do with my hormones or I'm not making enough progesterone to ovulate. I'm really not sure but prior to going on contraception I had very regular 5 day periods and now 6 months after stoping contraception I'm getting irregular 2 day bleeds. So confused! Xx

Progesterone production starts after you ovulate (it's the corpus luteum that makes progesterone and that only happens once the egg has released from the follicle), so it won't be that but it's clearly something! I have done a bit of reading and apparently it can take a while for your body to completely get rid of synthetic progesterone (which is how the mini pill works) but not sure on how long it's supposed to take! Have you asked your Dr for clomid or anything? Xx

I've booked an appointment with my gp as I'm going to ask for a blood tests to check thyroid etc.

I saw another gp who said they wouldn't prescribe anything unless I'd been trying for a year. Xx

So my chart shows ov on Thursday but I'm not convinced! @gossipgirl28 good luck at the drs let us know how you get on xx

Hey ladies, any updates? My bloods show my progesterone is low but doctor won't do anything for 2 years. Gutted!
I'm having regular 24 day cycles but not ovulating
Xx

Hi ladies I came off cerazette in February and am on cycle 5 ttc. My periods came back straight away and I have been doing opks and tracking bbt which seem to show I am ovulating but I get no ewcm at all, it's watery at best. I spoke to a gp about it and just got told come back after 1 year. I think it's got to be something to do with the pill still being in my system it's just so frustrating. I've tried preseed and epo but still nothing so I'm going to try robitussin this month aswell as I've heard that can thin out mucus.
