Early Ovulation

I have a 30 day average cycle and, according to my app, I was meant to ovulate on cycle day 14 but this month I got all the signs on day 9/10 so dtd then (the fact that I was so keen to dtd was one of the signs!). Could I have ovulated as early as this? Not sure when then 2 week wait finishes if so!

Should also mention that my cycle can vary from 26 days to 34 days too so not all that regular!

If your cycle can vary between 26 to 34 you could definitely ovulate around CD9 or 10. Mine usually are 26 and I o around Cd 10 with a usually 16 day luteal phase

To cover all your bases, I would say that your 2ww could be over as soon as CD 23/24 or as late as CD 28-30 (if your app is correct)

I'm a firm believer in listening to your body, so I would expect to be able to test around CD24 :) fingers crossed for you! :)

Oh, and yes - you can have randomly early ovulation :)

Hey there,

So the luteal phase (aka the TWW) is the bit between ovulation and your period. This remains the same length every cycle - it is the follicular stage (start of period to ovulation) that changes in length and so affects your cycle length. If you did ovulate around CD9/10 (completely possible) then you'll just be having a shorter cycle, most likely around 23/24 days (which you've said you have had previously!) in length. The average luteal length being 14 days - which is why it is known as the TWW.

However, you do have irregular cycle lengths so possibly your body tried to ovulate but failed so you might get the Ov signs again later (or not if you did Ov!). Usually varying cycle lengths are caused by failed Oving and/or failed Oving followed by a successful following attempt.

TwittleBee · 15/05/2018 11:14

(Sorry read it wrong - you have cycle lengths of 26+ not 24+)

TwittleBee · 15/05/2018 11:15

(what I said still stands though! people's bodies aren't as regular as they think, and you do already have a fluctuating cycle length anyway)

Thank you for your replies! I hope you're right and I get a bfp this month! Will report back...

I have a regular 28 day cycle, started CB digital opk on Friday morning cd 11- negative. Had a flashy face by afternoon. Cd12 mid morning still flashing
then turned peak by the afternoon. It's back to negative now on cd15.
Good luck Smile

Today is my peak ovulation day according to my app but now my cm has gone from ew to sticky and white; think I did ovulate early! Fingers crossed it's worked!
