Hi everyone
We are trying for our second child. My cycle is always longer then 28 days. Usually between 32-38! I’ve bought the clear blue ovulation tests but so far Ive not had one come back to say I have an LH high (ovulating) I’m getting a little concerned. What day should I expect to ovulate if I have an average cycle of 35 days ? Thank you.

Hi!
My cycles vary from 32-37 days. This cycle I got a positive OPK on cd24 Smile

Generally speaking, your luteal phase will always be 14 days. It’s the time between your period and ovulation that can vary. So say your cycle was always 35 days long, you would ovulate on day 21 of your cycle

Luteal phases tend to remain the same - but the length can vary from person to person. The "normal" length is 12-16 days but it can vary from 10 - 17. I'd start using the OPKs from CD15 - CD28 as that covers a luteal phase between 10 - 17 days for both your shortest and longest cycle lengths.

If you find using OPKs gets a bit pricey you can always give BBT charting a go if you are able to get a digital thermometer (I got a £10 from boots, does the job okay for me!) and can get 3 hours sleep a day and take temp same time.

Also remember that OPKs are known to be unreliable and they do not work for everyone.

Thank you. This is very helpful.
Would you say it’s best to test in the morning first thing ?
