I’m unsure when’s it best to start doing opks after my period is over? Should I start the day of no bleeding or wait a few days? I also know it’s best to dtd a day or so before ovulation to better your chances but should we also be dtd when I’m getting positives until I start to get negatives again? Who knew getting pregnant was so scientific 🤣 you get told for so many years don’t have unprotected sex as you’ll get pregnant straight away!!! Any advice welcome, thanks

How long is your cycle? Usually you would start OPKs on day 11 for a regular 28 day cycle. It's really best to make sure you dtd a couple of times during fertile week and the OPKs in my opinion are really just for making sure fertile week really is fertile week and you're not ovulating on day 23 or anything like that.

Thanks for replying. My cycles are a bit all over the place at the mo as I only came off the pill in October last year and had my first period in December. My cycles have been 29 days, 29 days, 28 days, 31 days and then 33 days. So I’m really unsure when I would ovulate?

If you have loads of tests start a week or so after Af and see how it goes. It takes a bit of practice.
A positive is a proper dark line. A faint one does not count. Do not use the first am wee. Start from lunch onward. Towards 10 dpo do another one in the evening. So twice a day. You'll get the gist of it. Whilst your practicing this consider temping too. I found it a bit of a fafff but I'm happy to persist in learning how to do it properly.

I'm cd11 and did my first digital opk today, with fmu. Why is it not recommended? I had no idea, my wee was pretty dark too because I hadn't had a drink for several hours before bed.

Because the wee has been sitting there all night collecting over several hrs therefore you may not get an accurate result

That makes sense thank you Smile
