Ttc for a year, 1st Dr's appointment?

Just that really, been off contraception 14 months actively ttc 11 cycles with no sniff of a bfp. Plucked up the courage to make an appointment at the Dr's, anyone around the same stage want to chat/got any advice?

Hi Merrz, I'm at a similar stage as you and I had a doctor's appointment a couple of weeks ago. I've been off the pill since June 2017 but only had about 6 cycles since then so wasnt sure if i was ovulating. They took blood and did all the hormone tests and also a full blood count, kidney function and blood sugar test which all came back normal last week! I'm also waiting on a pelvic ultrasound. Once the results of that are back I'm meant to go back and talk to the gp about it all.

Have you had regular cycles over the past year? What contraception had you been using?

Hi Spades, oh that sounds like your Dr is being very active, that's good! Did they give you any idea how long you'd have to wait for the ultrasound? Do you mind me asking how old you are? I'm 29.
I was on Rigevidon (combination pill) for about 10 years before stopping last March. My cycles have been fairly regular seem to be a few 29/30 day cycles then a random couple of longer cycles then back to 29/30 days. Did you go to the GP on a specific day of your cycle?

I went to the gp on day 67 of my cycle
He decided with long and irregular cycles there was really no point doing blood tests to pinpoint ovulation cause we could be waiting around for months. He just did all my major hormone levels to see if anything was out of whack. But he also said he was pretty sure there was absolutely nothing wrong and it was just my body readjusting after the pill..i was on cerazette and apparently it's renowned for messing up your cycles afterwards

I'm 28 so time is on my side hopefully so I'm trying not to get too worked up about it. But it is really hard when we're ttc! The GP said it would be a few weeks for the scan so just have to wait.

Hey Owl comforting but sad to see you here. I'm not very sure where I should be, feel like i've outgrown the conception boards but not quite ready to make the move to infertility just yet.
Fx for your results. I really just want to know now if there's something wrong.
