So.... first baby πŸ€žπŸΌπŸ™πŸ½πŸ€žπŸΌπŸ™πŸ½ Meant to be ovulating tomorrow. Main challenge atm is keeping things fun with the husband and not making him feel like a baby making machine πŸ˜‚ How’s it going for other hopeful first time mummy’s?

@PixieDust2 I doubt it. I know she's gonna arrive :( Urm, my advice would be just try and stay stress free.... I know it's hard but don't obsess. I'm just has bad x

rosesandponies · 24/07/2018 09:10

@Delilah7 sorry about the negative test love - Fingers crosses for next cycle or that it was a false negative!
@PixieDust2 I have no advice on how to stay calm for you because I am the absolute worst, reading into every little thing. It's hard but don't test too early - it's a waste of money and until AF appears you can never be 100% that you're out
@TheMagicTorch I wish I'd had an accident! πŸ˜‚ Was always so careful with my birth control, but getting pregnant a couple of years ago actually wouldn't have been a disaster with hindsight. I know a few couples who had accidents and I'm jealous that they did not have to go though this!

@rosesandponies I don't hold my hopes high! X

FlapJackered · 24/07/2018 10:52

@Delilah7 - I wouldn't trust those IC as gospel, they are a bit hit and miss. I got a false positive from one which was horrible. If you read the reviews on amazon people say they aren't half as sensitive as they say.
A lot of people only got a positive from them a week after their missed period. I would try a first response tomorrow if AF doesn't show up. FX'd for you lovely.

@PixieDust2 I am terrible with procrastinating and over analysing on the tww. It is torture isn't it! I would just try and fill your days and evenings with as many jobs/outings as you can so you don't have time to think about it. Although I do think nothing really works!

Delilah7 · 24/07/2018 12:39

@FlapJackered oh, ok. Thanks!! I never knew that. Thanks darling. How're you feeling x x

Summerbab · 24/07/2018 13:51

Starting to feel really peed off that I don’t know what’s going on with my body. Just worked out that first cycle after pill was 22 days and so very likely I missed ovulation all together. Now have no clue whether it’s gonna be the same this month or not.
If I order those cheap OPKs on amazon how many times a day do I have to do them? 😀
Said 2 posts ago I wasn’t doing them but i hate being in the dark. Arghhhh.
Hope you’re doing ok about your BFN @delilah7 Everything crossed for next month xx

Summerbab · 24/07/2018 13:52

Also anyone else like a raging sex mad beast now they’re off the pill?! My bf thought I was only up for it as we’re trying but honestly I’ve been like this since I was about 18 πŸ˜‚

Summerbab · 24/07/2018 14:02

*not been like this!

Chanel05 · 24/07/2018 14:11

@summerbab I’m on CD24 and think I’m ovulating today or tomorrow (had ewcm yesterday and pains today so πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ). I’ve got some cheapies and I’ve been using them once a day as well as clear blue. I think maybe use them twice a day?

Delilah7 · 24/07/2018 14:37

@Summerbab thanks Hun, I'm sure it'll happen for me soon.
I don't know if I wanna use OPKS but I feel I'd stand a better chance. :( x

FlapJackered · 24/07/2018 15:14

@Summerbab - it's so frustrating when your body doesn't behave isn't it! My cycles have ranged from 29 to 56 days off the pill πŸ™„
I tested opks 3 times a day last cycle, and I only got one real positive so I am glad I did, but I am freelance and work from home so it is easy for me.

@Delilah7 - I am ok thanks lovely. Only on cd4 so I am just waiting for the next week to hurry up! I am going to try the sperm meets egg plan this cycle, see if I have any joy with that! Had my blood test today double check everything too so hopefully it will all be ok. 🀞🏻. Are you going to test again tomorrow?

Delilah7 · 24/07/2018 17:01

@FlapJackered I'm only one cycle behind you! What did you have the blood test for? I doubt I'm gonna have to. I'm sure AF is going to make her appearance :(
I've wanted to do that but I'm not sure. Really don't want to start using the OPKS yet :( but guess I should. X

FlapJackered · 24/07/2018 17:56

@Delilah7 I am now on cycle 3 of properly ttc (which is since March on my long cycles πŸ™„) but have been off the pill for a year and not been overly careful so a bit concerned there might be something up. Doctor offered to test other hormones as I am hypothyroid and getting that checked anyway.
I would only use opks if you want to. I think if you're Dtd enough there is no need to use them. I quite enjoy using them and seeing the positive but I think it is a personal thing and if they will cause you stress it isn't worth it.

Delilah7 · 24/07/2018 18:05

@FlapJackered tbh we don't DTD as much as we should but that's because of me. I've had a lot of stress around sex in my lifetime, people taking advantage and it's just plummeted since. He on the other hand wants sex all the time. Also, it hurts me down there as I'm little :(

Crossfitgirl · 25/07/2018 06:49

@flapjackered I hope all is ok with your blood test, is your OH getting any tests done as well? I have wondered at what point to seek help as I have PCOS and had an ovarian cyst removed years ago, and a family history of fibroids / endometriosis in my sister. But my periods have been regular since coming off the pill and since we're not "trying" properly yet, I don't know how seriously GP would take it lol.
@delilah7 I took OPKs last month and I didn't feel too stressed about it, maybe try them and see how you feel.
@summerbab I tested twice a day with OPKs but I may do 3 times a day this month if I do get a faint line, as I never got a positive last month.
@pixiedust2 I think keeping as distracted as possible is good, and although it's counterproductive for me to say this on here, not looking at mumsnet for a bit helps take my mind off it - however the 2ww is sooo hard - maybe try avoid googling everything like I do! Lol xxx

FlapJackered · 25/07/2018 07:17

@Crossfitgirl - thanks. My sister has endo too, which to be honest is part of the reason I am getting everything checked as she has had such a hard time of it and is now getting ivf. My mum also took 9 years to get pregnant.
I told a slight porkie to the doctor so we would be checked and said we had been trying for a year. (It's not totally untrue as I have been off the pill almost a year and not been very careful!)
DH has had his sperm checked and although there are apparently less % normal shaped ones, he has so many sperm that apparently that is ok.
I am also just the type of person that I like to know what I am dealing with! I'm no expect but it sounds like if you're regular the PCOS isn't affecting your cycle too much? I forgot if you said you temped? As if you're ovulating I think that's the main thing no?

@Delilah7 sorry to hear that, that sounds tough. I would definitely see how you get on with the opks this cycle as I do think it takes the pressure off having so much sex as you know when you're about to ovulate and you can hit the nail on the head as it were!

FlapJackered · 25/07/2018 07:17

*expert

Crossfitgirl · 25/07/2018 07:33

@flapjackered ahh yes sorry I remember you said about his test. It's scary when you see people struggle, my sister has had 3 failed rounds of IVF, but her gynae problems are quite severe and she's had surgery etc.
Pcos has never affected me, I had irregular periods years ago and went on the pill, but they've been regular since coming off. It's easy to scare yourself reading all sorts- I read if your cycles are shorter than 26 days it can be a sign of infertility! Mine have been around 25 days, but then average is 28 so can't really be that unusual. Then I read about short luteal phases and immediately diagnosed that based on my ovulation! I also read on women's health magazine that your most fertile days are the days AFTER you ovulate! I was thinking bloody hell, you really can't trust what you read - every other source says the days upto are likely the best chance. Who knows what to believe.
I think I will tell the doc we started trying in Feb, if it comes to that. Rather than May when we stopped using condoms. I'm hoping by Christmas I'll be preggers though.
We are booking a holiday soon and I'm excited because we always have so much more sex on holiday! We haven't had any for 2 weeks plus! I'm coming up to my fertile days now, cd8 today and first OPK this morning. Bring on the cycle!! Xx

Crossfitgirl · 25/07/2018 07:36

Oops checked clue and I'm cd7 not cd8! Too eager! Lol

Crossfitgirl · 25/07/2018 07:39

@delilah7 I agree with @flapjackered if you don't have sex often then OPKs can help with timing. At least he is up for it whenever- all you need then is to initiate at that time! I'm little too and it hurts sometimes. Especially if its been a while. Hopefully it'll mean well have super little babies that are easy to pop out! 😁😁😁

Delilah7 · 25/07/2018 07:47

@Crossfitgirl @FlapJackered knowing me ladies I'll have the biggest baby around πŸ˜‚

Think I might have to start using them then as I only go off my flo app, and just start a week before I'm meant to ovulate and stop a week after!
Thanks girls for not judging me though. I've been through a lot sex wise and it has been a hard thing to get brought with OH.
D Day today - awaiting AF.

FlapJackered · 25/07/2018 07:48

@Crossfitgirl congrats on the positive opk!
That's so weird that the Mag said after was the most fertile, I thought that it was impossible 12 hrs after ov!
God your poor sister, that sounds really tough. I really hope it works for my sister. while I really hope I get pregnant I do worry a bit if I get pregnant before her I will feel so guilty telling her. I really hope she gets gets pg first round and then I do soon after.

I wouldn't worry too much about the short cycle, my SIL got pg on a 24 day cycle, twice very quickly.

FlapJackered · 25/07/2018 08:00

@Delilah7 - never any judgement here lovely. I have also had some bad experiences which were a massive hurdle in the early days with DH.
Have you tested today? I would be poas like a crazy thing!

Delilah7 · 25/07/2018 08:19

@FlapJackered nope not tested just put a pad in and awaiting the flo πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ TMI sorry. I don't have any cramps though which is weird.

Crossfitgirl · 25/07/2018 09:38

@delilah7 OPKs are more definite too - apps are good for tracking days but do just estimate your fertile days. I use Clue, which tells me I ovulate on cd12 each month, however when I tested with OPKs I got all my signs of OV and faint test lines much later- around cd16/17.
@flapjackered I am the same, my sister has now stopped trying, she's 38 and I will feel terrible for her if I do and she hasn't been able to, however I plan to involve her as much as possible and she will be godmother when it happens, I know how much she loves kids and she loves looking after my other nieces and nephews. It's just being tactful I think and letting her be as involved as possible without "rubbing it in".
I didn't have a positive OPK it's just my first day of testing this month πŸ˜‚ I'll be very happy when it is positive!! Did you only get positives on testing 3 times a day? What times did you test? Xx
