So.... first baby πŸ€žπŸΌπŸ™πŸ½πŸ€žπŸΌπŸ™πŸ½ Meant to be ovulating tomorrow. Main challenge atm is keeping things fun with the husband and not making him feel like a baby making machine πŸ˜‚ How’s it going for other hopeful first time mummy’s?

Hi ladies, feeling very confused right now. This is my first month off the pill (I’m on CD20). I didn’t think I’d ovulated as I’ve done opks. Just had some brown discharge and I’m wondering whether my period is arriving super early? Or could I have ovulated and not realised?! Has anyone else had this?

rosesandponies · 20/07/2018 17:04

@Chanel05 how long have you been off the pill if you were on it? I got a lot of weird spotting at random times in the first two months after I stopped taking it.
It could be an implantation bleed though... πŸ€žπŸΌπŸ™πŸΌπŸ€žπŸΌπŸ™πŸΌπŸ€žπŸΌ

Thanks @organised5. AF is on its way so can't wait to start next ovulation. Will try every other day as advised and keep fingers and toes crossed Smiletrying to remain relaxed but excited we can finally start trying, that was a long 6 months for us to wait lol.

Chanel05 · 20/07/2018 18:09

@rosesandponies I took my last pill on 27th June having been on it for 12 years so it’s not been long! I never had any odd moments being on the pill so it surprised me. Sorry, this is all new to me!

FlapJackered · 21/07/2018 05:15

I am out πŸ™ AF reared her ugly head, at least before Saturday night I suppose 🍸
But my cycle was only 29 days as opposed to 56 last cycle so definite positives there!

Summerbab · 21/07/2018 11:34

Hey ladies, had a couple weeks off here as I was on holiday. Period came first month of trying and now should be ovulating according to the app. I’ve packed in the OPKs because I was just feeling annoyed every time it was negative haha.
I’m trying to be as relaxed as possible about all this but in the back of my mind thinking I WANT IT NOW πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Crossfitgirl · 21/07/2018 12:18

@summerbab I'm exactly the same, we're not even in a rush to have a baby, however each month so far I've been like... I need it to happen now!! Then I think about all the holidays I might want to go on before I have a baby. But I'm still devastated when AF comes! Lol. Crazy. @flapjackered happy for you that you've had a shorter cycle, fingers crossed it stays shorter! :-)
Good luck to all those joining and in their first month! I have been very lucky and had quite regular periods and no spotting, but lots of other people have been all over the place so it can take time to get to know your cycle and what is normal for you.
Anyone else sticking to IC OPKs? I'm hoping to get at least one definite positive OPK this month and not just faint lines! Xx

rosesandponies · 21/07/2018 13:45

@Crossfitgirl I've bought a box of the clear blue ones to try this month - hope I'll have better luck with them. Just waiting (im)patiently for AF. Like @FlapJackered I've had long cycles too - averaging at around 35 days, however last month was 29 so I was mega hopeful that they were shorter but it's looking like a one off 😭 I'm CD32. Wish she'd hurry up, when you have long cycles the wait between your BFN and AF is really frustrating. Right now I have mild cramps and tender breasts, but less tender than last week and the spots have stopped, but no sign of AF at all 😭

FlapJackered · 21/07/2018 16:14

@rosesandponies have you tested yet? Could you be pregnant? Long cycles are the worst, so I am very glad that at least this one was normal!
@Crossfitgirl thanks, yes I am the same @Summerbab - I am so surprised in a way it hasn't happened yet but it's only been 2 cycles for me! πŸ˜‚

ScientistTTC · 21/07/2018 21:11

Hello everyone!
Been a bit AWOL as work has been super busy, bought a house and then AF arrived! But I’m feeling optimistic and realised that maybe I was being a bit too unrealistic thinking it would work first time. Been trying to eat more healthily as since the wedding I’ve been terrible and know maintaining an ideal BMI helps with baby making (hard when you’re stressed though!) . Also been trying out some new exercises (got an exercise hula hoop πŸ˜‚). Trying my best to be as healthy as possible for future baba! Does anyone else do night shifts? I’m working lates and nights all over when I’m supposed to be ovulating and worried I’m not going to awake the same time as hubby to be able to have sexy time as he works shifts too! Will have to try and wake up earlier I suppose!
Hope we all have a lot more luck next cycle πŸ™ŒπŸ»

Anon20something · 21/07/2018 22:31

I've been off the pill for 8 months and still nothing! Just feeling like it's not going to happen! 😭 Xxx

FlapJackered · 22/07/2018 11:57

@ScientistTTC that must be hard with night shifts!
I am having a weekend off the healthy eating after AF starting, lots of Gin and take aways! πŸ˜‹

@Anon20something - sorry to hear it hasn't happened for you yet, it is horrible this ttc business isn't it. It can take a while for your body to get back to normal after the pill, my doc said it can take up to a year - so it could be that? We just have to keep the hope as I am sure it will happen for us all, hopefully sooner rather than later!

Crossfitgirl · 22/07/2018 19:31

@anon20something I hope it happens for you soon, I always like to think it happens when it's meant to, maybe you're just waiting for the perfect sperm and egg combination! I read somewhere recently that even if you DTD exactly at the right time every month, even in healthy people there still only a 25% chance of getting pregnant. I guess it's the luck of the draw. Most of my friends took between 6 months and 2 years to concieve so I think it's totally normal, albeit veeeerrrryy disheartening:-( I hope it happens for you soon. @rosesandponies any sign of AF yet? @scientistTTC definitely getting healthy and trying to chill out is great for baby making :-) I'm trying to lose a bit of weight, funnily enough just my belly!!

@flapjackered I'm on the wine tonight too while I see off AF! It's made slightly worse by the not 1, not 2, but 3(!!!) Facebook baby announcements this weekend! 2 of my friends have just given birth, and another just found out the sex of theirs. Happy for them but I want that too!

ScientistTTC · 22/07/2018 20:19

@flapjackered @Crossfitgirl Thanks both! Got the husband on board with tracking my cycle so hopefully he will be up for sexy time even if I’m deliriously tired haha! And I’m just trying to eat healthily and exercise more but it’s hard when I work weird shift patterns! Anyone else finding it difficult with family members and colleagues constantly nagging when you’re going to have a baby. Don’t want people to know we’re trying as I feel like that is too much pressure but then just have to brush it off all the time β€˜oh when the times right’ β€˜we’re just enjoying each other’s company’ etc. Wish people would mind their own business but understand at the same time :/

rosesandponies · 22/07/2018 21:27

@FlapJackered tested on Friday was negative. Cd33 now and no AF - not outside of normal cycle length for me. If there's no AF by next Friday I will test again. I don't see any preggo symptoms at all. Slight nausea today, but think that has something to do with the best part of an entire bottle of prosecco that I put away at my friend's BBQ last night πŸ˜‚
@ScientistTTC congratulations on the new house! So exciting πŸŽ‰ And lol totally relate to trying to stay healthy once the looking hot for the wedding motivation has gone πŸ˜‚ TTC is a great new incentive to be healthy though! I'm having much more fruit and veggies than I normally do

rosesandponies · 22/07/2018 21:32

@Crossfitgirl ugh baby posts on social media... hate it! Happy for them but wish it would stop. Saw one today from someone I used to work with. But then I know I'll be just the same if not worse - photos every day no doubt! πŸ˜‚

Summerbab · 23/07/2018 09:05

Why is it our whole lives it’s made out if you even think about having unprotected sex you’ll be pregs πŸ˜‚ And now I don’t even know if im having sex at the right time lol. Sex drive has gone up that much since I stopped the pill that my bf wonders wtf is going on πŸ˜‚

Crossfitgirl · 23/07/2018 09:59

I have a Monday story that will cheer you all up! So for anyone else not sharing the OPK and charting craziness with their DH... I hid my pee pot (a very small Tupperware) in my bubble bath box in the bathroom thinking DH NEVER goes in there. Low and behold, since we're tidying and de-cluttering to get our house on the market, he's put some of his own toiletries in there. He came to me with the Tupperware in his hand asking why it was in the bathroom! I had to make up some crap that I used it to put bath salts in, but since we don't have any he's said well it doesn't need to be in there does it... can't argue with that... He's put it back in the kitchen cupboard!!! Aaahhhh!! πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ

organised5 · 23/07/2018 10:13

@Summerbab I could have written this exact post! When I was younger I thought if I so much as looked at a penis I'd get pregnant, little did I know what it actually takes in terms of tracking and timing... πŸ˜‚

TheMagicTorch · 23/07/2018 10:21

@summerbab it's nuts isn't it!! I've had 2 friends who fell pregnant accidentally (one twice!!) due to contraception failure but I am having full blown unprotected sex, finding the right time of month etc and it's just not happening yet!

FlapJackered · 23/07/2018 10:37

@TheMagicTorch @Summerbab @organised5 - I was thinking this exact thing this morning. It makes me so annoyed thinking about how I was always told if you have unprotected sex you will get pregnant! No one ever warned me it is actually not that easy to get pregnant! I wish I had started ttc earlier now.

@Crossfitgirl πŸ˜‚ you're going to have to find a new hiding spot for it before he uses it for left overs!

@ScientistTTC I can't believe how many people ask me if we are trying! I normally give the same response as you.
My sister has been trying for a year and told my family they were ttc and they are all very supportive but keep on saying to me 'I wonder if she is pregnant' and I just wouldn't want that pressure!

TheMagicTorch · 23/07/2018 10:58

@Crossfitgirl πŸ˜‚ Oh no you need to retrieve it from the kitchen cupboard and find a new hiding place!

Delilah7 · 23/07/2018 19:23

Thinking I'm out. Took one of those small little flimsy stick tests that you can get from amazon and it was a BFN. I'm due Wednesday so I'm sure I'm out. Again :( 3rd cycle.

Sending you all baby dust x

PixieDust2 · 23/07/2018 19:36

@Delilah7 I'm sorry about your BFN, will you test again on Wednesday if AF doesn't show?

I'm 4dpo and the 2ww is already getting to me! Does anyone have any tips on distracting yourself as I just seem to be obsessing over symptoms that cannot possibly be there yet.

ScientistTTC · 23/07/2018 19:39

@rosesandponies thank you! Now trying not to spend a fortune on the house so I still have savings for any future baby haha! And definitely feel that pain, once I was out of that wedding dress I was straight on that dominos πŸ˜‚

@flapjackered I know it is really hard but I know people are just inquisitive. I get worried that if we have a lot of trouble getting pregnant that I will be less understanding the longer it goes on. For now I’m just brushing people off β€˜oh we just got the house’ β€˜plenty of time for that etc.’
