So.... first baby πŸ€žπŸΌπŸ™πŸ½πŸ€žπŸΌπŸ™πŸ½ Meant to be ovulating tomorrow. Main challenge atm is keeping things fun with the husband and not making him feel like a baby making machine πŸ˜‚ How’s it going for other hopeful first time mummy’s?

@chanel05 what do the instructions say the flashing smiley means? I think any smiley from what I've heard means you're fertile so dtd dtd dtd!!
I'm in the 2ww and totally convinced I'm pregnant! Based purely on the fact I think we dtd when I OV'd, and I now have some slight tummy pains. Haha. And it's probably too early to even get any signs at all! Anyways sure AF will turn up and shatter my dreams but who else is in the 2ww Now? I'm on CD 20 of a 25 day cycle, AF due 17th July Xxx

Chanel05 · 11/07/2018 08:28

@Crossfitgirl it says that it’s high fertility, I just feel like I was expecting to wait for ages or for it not to happen when this is my first month off the pill. Took another this morning and the test was still a flashing smiley so I thought best get cracking at 5:50am! Grin When do you think you’ll test?

FlapJackered · 11/07/2018 08:30

@Chanel05 - yes - get cracking! Flashing smiley means your fertile and then solid smiley is peak. What we do is DTD every other day through flashing smiley and then do it everyday when peak comes.
The apps are good to give an approx time but temping and ov tests are better at pinpointing!

@Crossfitgirl that is not long until you can test! When do you think you will POAS? I am on CD20 too but only just ovulated on Monday (I think - just waiting for last raised temp tomorrow to confirm - but it is looking good!) What DPO are you? I think I will test on 22nd if the temps stay up.

Crossfitgirl · 11/07/2018 12:41

@flapjackered well Clue says I ovulated on cd12, but I think I only ovulated on Saturday (cd16). I'm not planning on testing unless AF is late, so far my cycles not been more than 26 days, was 25 the last 2 months, so I will probably test on 18th or 19th June (cd26/27) if it hasn't come by then. It'll be about 10 or 11 days post ovulation though so don't know if that would still be too soon?

rosesandponies · 11/07/2018 13:27

@Crossfitgirl I'm in the TWW now AF due 19th July. How's it going for you does anything feel different? I am almost completely convinced that I'm not pregnant - I've got spots, my breasts hurt and I'm bloated - it's such standard PMS for me.
Reading about these flashing smilies really wants to make me get clear blue - ordering one now might add to my chances of being pregnant already due to sod's law πŸ˜‚

Chanel05 · 11/07/2018 18:34

@rosesandponies definitely get one! I bought my packet for Β£19 online so it wasn’t cheap but I like the clarity of it!

FlapJackered · 11/07/2018 18:45

@rosesandponies - I really like them too - very clear and easy. I have done both IC OPKs and clearblue this month (not ott at all Hmm) and I got the IC positive the night of the flashing smiley and then peak the next day, so I would say they are very accurate.

@Crossfitgirl - I don't feel different at all, not one symptom. I had more symptoms going on last cycle! Just the usual bad acne/oily skin. I think 11DPO is ok there is this website which shows the percentage chance of getting a bfp
www.countdowntopregnancy.com/pregnancy-test/dpo-chart.php?dpo=9

Delilah7 · 12/07/2018 10:15

ladies I had some clear stringy Cm last night but obviously as the bloody World Cup was on my other half was out so we never did it. I've DTD Monday Tuesday when I was getting ovulation pains. Do you think it'll be too late if I continue to DTD tonight and tomorrow?? Xx

Crossfitgirl · 12/07/2018 11:39

@flapjackered thank you that's a really helpful site! It's good to know, as even if I was pg it still might not test positive even if I test after AF is late, with a shorter cycle like mine.

@chanel05 @rosesandponies I might get myself one of those too for next month!! And you're right it'll be sods law if you're already pg but it would be worth the waste of Β£20 for tempting fate for a bfp!

I thought I felt different, thought my cm was different and had some tummy twinges but I think it may just have been wind!!!! Hahaha. @rosesandponies Is it normal to get pms type symptoms even a week before AF? I've also been feeling quite stressed at work and then noticing how stressed I am then worrying it will make it less likely I'll get bfp. How stupid is that :-(

Also My DH been super tired and grumpy all the time after work this week and hasn't felt like we've been getting on well, and I keep mentioning a date night and quality time together but he's not bothered so that's getting me down, definitely makes me feel less inclined to DTD and actually think maybe it's best if we don't this month as it'll be a conception from negative vibes!! Is that completely mad to think that??

Crossfitgirl · 12/07/2018 11:40

Sorry for the long post!
Also @delilah7 just do it anyway! It goes like that to help the sperm along, so if it's still like that then you're still in with a chance xx

Delilah7 · 12/07/2018 13:32

@Crossfitgirl thanks lovely. Been to the toilet and had two clumps of ECWM so defo gonna keep going. Feel shit as I've missed last night out this week :( x

Delilah7 · 12/07/2018 15:44

Really scared I've missed it though. As I've only done it once when abit of EWCM appeared. Yesterday I couldn't as he was out all night and now today I've had ALOT and some massive ovulation pains

FlapJackered · 12/07/2018 17:46

@crossfitgirl - I know what you mean, when DH is irritating me I find it really difficult to DTD.

Bit down today, as we got DH's sperm analysis results back and his sperm morphology is pretty low, just into the normal range. His sperm count is good, but I don't think that totally makes up for it.
I am going to broach the subject of his drinking tonight as he will have binges on the weekend where he can put away serious amounts. I don't think it is going to down well though. Confused

Delilah7 · 12/07/2018 17:54

@FlapJackered he should understand when you talk to him. It'll only be till after this is all complete :)

Crossfitgirl · 12/07/2018 19:48

@flapjackered good luck with your chat, I have heard that sperm quality can get better with lifestyle changes so at least it can change, I am sure he will be on board. it's often more daunting thinking about the conversation than having it! And chances are, he may be thinking the same thing. Knowing men in general, the thought that your tackle isnt "doing the job properly" may kick start some better habits in itself. If that was my DH, even if he didnt let on much, i know he would be feeling a little emasculated and would probably pretend its all fine while secretly buying vitamin tablets and joining a gym. Let us know how you get on :-)

FlapJackered · 13/07/2018 07:59

It wasn't exactly a success... he just fobbed it off and said 'well let's just see what the doctor suggests next week'
I am sure the doctor will recommend cutting down the booze though, so hopefully he will listen. He has agreed to up his veg and take a few extra supplements to that is good!

rosesandponies · 13/07/2018 10:16

@FlapJackered sorry to hear that lovely 😞 How did it make you feel to hear that news? Bright side - it is still in the normal range so you have the same chance as anyone. I kind of agree with @Crossfitgirl that anything to do with the precious crown jewels is bound to hit a nerve with any man, your DH won't be feeling great about it and might try to shut conversations down several times before doing something about it. Must be difficult to chat frankly about it because you don't want to hurt his feelings. My DH is exactly like that, there's always a moody phase when he doesn't want to talk about the issue and then finally after a couple of weeks of stewing - some action, quite literally in our most recent struggle with DTD. Are most of his mates heavy drinkers at the weekends too? It can be difficult to get them out of the pack mentality, telling the boys he's trying to cut down and they're telling him to pipe down and just drink it etc.

FlapJackered · 14/07/2018 09:58

Thanks @rosesandponies . He is a much heavier drinker than his friends and he is the one to get everyone drinking normally.
I am sure when it sinks in he will do something about it, he is just so ridiculously chilled out it doesn't seem to bother him. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ very frustrating!!

What cd/dpo is everyone on? Anyone due to test soon? Would be great to have some more good news on this thread!
I am cd23/5dpo.

Crossfitgirl · 14/07/2018 12:26

@flapjackered definitely ask the GP if drinking less will help, sometimes the white coat makes them listen more!

I am also cd23 and I think 7dpo, I am due AF on Tuesday.
What about everyone else?
It's the first month I have debated testing at all, i dont even know why as I feel no different to normal. I have 3 internet cheapies but I am still going to try and hold out until / if AF is late! I did look at FRERS online but decided against it.
I'm going to try do some yoga this coming month to help me relax!
What are you all doing in the 2ww to chill? xx

FlapJackered · 15/07/2018 08:04

@Crossfitgirl thanks, yes fx'd the doctor will talk some sense into him!

I am not really chilling about it πŸ˜‚ I am on MN a lot!! We are seeing family this weekend which is good to take my mind off it, until my SIL started talking about babies...

rosesandponies · 15/07/2018 17:42

I'm due AF on Thursday and can't come fast enough - such bad PMS. Cramps and moody and a painful spot the size of a blueberry on my cheek 😭 I don't think I'll need to test this cycle, but if I do it will be Friday. It's been a pretty challenging weekend as we moved house and did it all ourselves - just relaxing with a cold coke surrounded by boxes rn. It's too hot for this! Our marriage just about survived πŸ˜‚

OP posts:
Crossfitgirl · 15/07/2018 21:57

@rosesandponies well done on the house move in this heat! Sounds challenging to say the least. I hope AF comes soon for you if you're feeling rubbish, I'm due soon and I know it's coming too, so probably won't need to test either.
I have had a huge blow tonight, my DH and I had a conversation about his recent moods, and he has said he's not coping well with work/stress and says he's worried he would lose his temper or snap with a child. I sat and listened and let him open up and now he's gone to bed, I feel like we should put it on hold now :-( need to have another conversation about this and plan how we move forward now- whether we stop trying for a bit til his head is right, or whether he's happy to see how we go. Not a great Sunday evening :-(

rosesandponies · 15/07/2018 23:07

@Crossfitgirl I'm so sorry 😞 That must have been a difficult conversation for you. How are you feeling now? I don't know you and your DH personally so if my thoughts sound like nonsense then my apologies and please ignore: it actually sounds like the kind of thing my husband might say too after a rubbish week, but in a 'thinking out loud' sort of way rather than something he wants to take action on. Like, he's worried about becoming a parent (who wouldn't be?!) and not being the perfect parent, work is a never ending stress and it's hard to imagine being able to switch off and become super dad. So he's just sharing his worries and thoughts with you - perhaps a sort of 'disclaimer' against the future because he's also scared of letting you down - but he's not saying that he definitely doesn't want to be a dad soon? I'm sure you've already done this, but let him know how much of an amazing dad he's going to be and how much you can't wait to have HIS children - he's the one you were waiting for to take this step with. You know it's not going to be a fairy story and that you'll both make mistakes as parents, but you've got his back like you know he has yours.
Also perhaps ask what he needs from you to alleviate the stress? Some time alone to himself after work? Doing some fun activities together that he enjoys? My DH loves to just go for a quiet walk around our area when he's stressed out with me, virtually in silence, to wind down. Anyway enough babbling from me.
I'm sorry that you've had a tough evening love, we are here for you!x x

Crossfitgirl · 15/07/2018 23:34

@rosesandponies thank you so much for your wonderful advice, that has actually made me feel a whole lot better :-) I think you're right, he is voicing his worries - and I'm more relieved that he actually told me, rather than bottling it all up! He did say it might help to have a quiet area at home to work (he has a lot of uni work as he's doing on the job training) so I've said we shall go to Ikea tomorrow and get a desk and office chair, get rid of the other crap in the spare room and turn it into an office. Maybe it'll be a new room to christen ;-) hehe. Really though, I don't feel I did a very good job of reassuring him he'll be a good dad, and I'm glad you highlighted it as I now think it'll be really important for me to say that. Thank you xxx
