So.... first baby πŸ€žπŸΌπŸ™πŸ½πŸ€žπŸΌπŸ™πŸ½ Meant to be ovulating tomorrow. Main challenge atm is keeping things fun with the husband and not making him feel like a baby making machine πŸ˜‚ How’s it going for other hopeful first time mummy’s?

@Crossfitgirl - I am so sorry, that sounds really hard.
I think @rosesandponies is right. He is probably just panicking a bit. It happens to all of us at some point. However bad his temper gets I am sure he would never hurt his own child. That is also the benefit of there being two of you: If he gets overwhelmed he can go for a walk and cool off and vice-versa.
My DH also has his moments, except with him it comes across as just going completely silent when we talk about it! Not helpful!
I hope you're feeling a bit better today.

I am 7dpo today and starting to get some gentle pms symptoms. Definitely don't feel pregnant at the moment!

Crossfitgirl · 16/07/2018 10:58

Thanks @flapjackered. I'm going to talk to him again tonight, you're right we all have our moments and that is why there are 2 of us! He does get very self critical and sometimes just needs a kick up the bum. I posted a thread in relationships about his moods, and everyone has sent quite horrible responses telling me to end my marriage, forget about kids and leave him! I'm glad people are more understanding on here, I have found you guys to be so much more supportive, I may delete the other thread as it's upsetting me! xxx

Its annoying that PMS mimicks all the pg symptoms isnt it! No matter how much you feel like AF is here, theres that tiny glimmer of hope that its pg symptoms! I am due AF tomorrow, 9dpo today. I have sensitive nipples and tummy cramps so I'm certain AF will be here very soon! Even despite my recent troubles, I am still hoping I'm pg!! It's madness. Lol.

Delilah7 · 16/07/2018 11:58

@Crossfitgirl I will butt in here lovely and say i think it's quite brave he said that and said what he really felt. Shows how much he trusts you to be that honest. I think he's probably just getting stressed out with everything and all situations are ruining through his brain x

FlapJackered · 16/07/2018 12:21

@Crossfitgirl - please ignore the horrible responses on your other thread. It seems to be the go-to response on MN to leave your partner at the slightest issue!- As if everyone in a relationship is perfect and never says or does anything wrong!

rosesandponies · 16/07/2018 13:50

@Crossfitgirl I haven't read your other thread so dot know what you have said - but I did this a few weeks ago where I was really upset and made another thread specifically about our issues DTD regularly (issue that predates TTC) and got a whole barrage of judgemental comments and people saying that I should leave him, he's gay and in denial, he's abusing me by not having sex... I asked to have it taken down because it was so awful in the end. Stick with us 😊

Also I'm still hoping it's pregnancy not PMS too πŸ˜‚ The things we put ourselves though! I know my body, nothing is out of the ordinary and I can see that the spots and breast tenderness arrived on the same day as the last 2 months. Still biting my arm off trying to not test...

Thank you ladies, love this thread. Those bs in the relationships section, Look what they drove me to!! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ how many days po will you be on Friday @rosesandponies? I'm staying positive and I think AF will be a good thing for me this month. How awful that you had to actually get a thread withdrawn! I won't be making that mistake again! How's everyone else getting on? Anyone else testing soon? Xxx

TTC first baby cycle one! Anyone else out there?
Delilah7 · 16/07/2018 15:26

@Crossfitgirl I'm feeling abit low. Wanting to feel like it's my month as I'm sure I DTD'd the right times. I'm only 6dpo though :( xx

TheMagicTorch · 16/07/2018 15:34

Hi ladies 😊Can I jump on this thread please! I'm on a few threads already, might see some familiar faces - We're trying for our first baby.
I'm 29, now on cycle 5 of TTC (AF just started yesterday boo). I had a chemical cycle 3 and so want our BFP soon.

@Crossfitgirl Hope you enjoyed your ice cream, sorry to hear you had some horrible comments ( I didn't see your other thread). People on the relationships board can be so quick to judge and come to the worst conclusions. When are you planning to test?

Crossfitgirl · 16/07/2018 16:37

Welcome @themagictorch, and happy baby making :-) there's a few of us just about to expect AF too, so for those of us that do, a nice fresh cycle ahead! If I don't come on tomorrow, I'm going to test Wednesday I think. I have got rid of the other thread on my login so I don't see it, and won't be going back to look at any more responses. The ice cream was awesome just what I needed!! Fyi I finished the tub but there was only 1 big portion left in it. Honest!! Haha.
@delilah7 I think the 2ww is a bit of a rollercoaster, I don't think either of us have been trying long have we but it certainly feels like an age! 6dpo isn't long to go though, in a few days you may be able to test with a FRER, when are you due AF? Xxx

FlapJackered · 16/07/2018 16:42

Welcome @TheMagicTorch ! I recognise your name from the TWW thread. Sorry to hear about your chemical. That must have been hard. Fingers crossed this is your cycle!

@Crossfitgirl - I like your style! Definitely deserved!

@Delilah7 - Sorry to hear you're feeling low. It is a tough few weeks isn't it, I am finding it difficult to think of anything else right now. It is seriously unproductive! I am finding I often get a bit low generally the week after ov, I wonder if it is partly a hormonal thing?

Delilah7 · 16/07/2018 16:51

@Crossfitgirl due AF next Wednesday. I just wish it would happen. It is my third cycle so not long at all x

Delilah7 · 16/07/2018 16:52

@FlapJackered I guess because my Cm seems to be going crazy this cycle I'm all messed up in my head! Xx

Delilah7 · 16/07/2018 18:37

Really confused though as I've reading up that really fertile Cm will come at days 10/14 after your period. Now my flo app was telling me my fertile window was only 2 days after my period! and ovulation was 8 day's after my period!

rosesandponies · 16/07/2018 18:44

@Crossfitgirl I'm 12 days po today and expecting AF on Thursday or Friday. Might come earlier as I've had some cramps today and my skin is just THE WORST. I miss the pill so much! Know that it affects everyone differently, but for me it really helped my mood swings and my skin. Acne when your in your 30s = not fair! @TheMagicTorch welcome πŸ˜„ I'm about to start cycle 4 now, so very early days but it is difficult not to fret as everyone knows! @Delilah7sorry that you're having a tough month lovely, CM can be a sign of pregnancy though, I usually don't get anything po

@rosesandponies I feel so stupid as I'm so new to this and constantly think I'm pregnant after I try!

BroodyWifey1 · 16/07/2018 23:01

Hi everyone first time ever posting been reading this thread all day!
I am sooo new to this I’ve been on contraception for around 9years, implant, injections, & microgynon pill for the last 3 years. We got married on the 28th of June & I stopped taking my pill the 26th. (I know - not long at all!) I had withdrawal bleed the 30th of June...still no real period, and have no idea what so ever when it is supposed to actually come! How can I calculate when I am ovulating etc? Very confusing πŸ™ˆ

Crossfitgirl · 17/07/2018 11:36

@broodywifey1 welcome! Congratulations on your wedding! How are you finding married life? Very exciting that you're off the pill already, it's confusing at first but you'll soon get to know all the tricks! It's easier to track your cycle once you've already had a normal period, but there are lots of ways you can work out when you're ovulating - you can use an app to track everything and estimate your fertile and ovulation days, or you can use ovulation tests or basal body temperatures to pinpoint ovulation. Some people just have sex regularly throughout the month, or some just continues normal. Do you think you'll have a strategy, or just carry on as normal and see what happens? That's what I'm trying to do, but it's hard not to track things once you know your cycle! Xx

@delilah7 I am exactly the same!! I can't get the thought out of my head. I'm due AF today and no sign of it yet!!! Argh! I may actually be able to test for the first time ever tomorrow! Watch It come later today now lol

Crossfitgirl · 17/07/2018 11:39

Also, I have an update - i talked again to my husband last night, and he clarified he DOES want kids, doesn't want to go back to using contraception, and is just stressed about college/work and was worried about the pressure of TTC on top of that. Not that I have put any pressure on him, but I have talked about having a baby probably much more than usual! So good news!!!

Delilah7 · 17/07/2018 11:47

@Crossfitgirl fingers crossed for you!!! I really want to put up a TMI photo of some discharge or Cm I've had just to see what you guys think. I don't normally have a lot especially after ovulation xx

TheMagicTorch · 17/07/2018 11:57

@Crossfitgirl Ahh that's good to hear. It's great that ultimately you''re both on the same page and he still wants to try. Great stuff x

BroodyWifey1 · 17/07/2018 12:21

@Crossfitgirl thank you very much! We are loving married life now that I’m off the pill! I seemed to have no sex drive what so ever on it but that has changed! πŸ˜‚. We have been together 8 years took two years to plan and save for our dream wedding and always wanted to wait til after the wedding to start trying! Now I’m the only one in my group of friends who dosnt have a baby and we want one so bad, I just didn’t want to be pregnant on my wedding after all the money spent on dress drinks package etc lol. Is it the clear blue ovulation tests? I will look into these as I have no idea when I’m due so can’t calculate when it should be!

rosesandponies · 17/07/2018 14:03

@BroodyWifey1 welcome and congratulations on your wedding! Nice to be TTC straight away, I kind of wish we had rather than waiting 2 years, if just to avoid the questions! I feel like the only one without a baby too...
When I came off the pill after 14 years my cycles were very long - I had a withdrawal bleed and then nothing for about 7 weeks! They've been gradually getting shorter and (gross warning) AF has been heavier and thicker without the pill. PMS has been much worse. My sex drive massively spiked when I first came off too, it's a good thing πŸ˜‚ I found that OTCs stressed me out a lot - but I had the cheapest I could find. Other girls on MN have had a better time with them. The Clearblue 'smiley face' one sounds like the best.
@Crossfitgirl glad that you had another chat and are feeling better about everything. It was scary but a good thing that your DH chose to share with you rather than bottle and sit on issues - much healthier!

OP posts:
Crossfitgirl · 17/07/2018 16:10

@broodywifey1 yes the clear blue ones seem the best from what people have said. They're pricey and you need to know the length of your cycle to know what day to start testing though so if you're going to test first month, maybe start with cheap ones so it doesn't matter if you use loads!

AF still not showed, and I've not had any spotting which I usually get just before, but I do feel like I usually do before my period.... I know it's only due today, but I've not yet gone past a 25 day cycle since coming off the pill. If it's not come by end of the day, I'm late! I'm setting myself up for failure here but.... totally getting my hopes up and testing in the morning if it's not here by then!

TTC first baby cycle one! Anyone else out there?
FlapJackered · 17/07/2018 17:00

Welcome @BroodyWifey1 ! I thinking temping is a good way to track cycles and using an app like Fertility Friend. Also Opks, clearblue are easiest but cost can add up.

@Delilah7 - it sounds promising if it's not a symptom you normally have? I would try and not worry too much as I think there is just no way of knowing until it's time to test. I know it's easier said than done though!

@Crossfitgirl - so glad you had a chat with DH and he is still keen. You must be so relieved to have talked it through with him!
Wahh testing tomorrow very exciting! Will keep my fingers crossed for you! 🀞🏻
Do you feel any symptoms? Or normal AF feelings?

@rosesandponies - I am the same with the acne, it was so good on the pill and now on a good day it's not great but after ovulation it just gets horrible and angry spots. Horrible!
I am hoping I am one of the people who has flawless skin in pregnancy. I have heard it normally goes one of two ways!
When do you think you will test?
