TTC first baby cycle one! Anyone else out there?

So.... first baby 🤞🏼🙏🏽🤞🏼🙏🏽 Meant to be ovulating tomorrow. Main challenge atm is keeping things fun with the husband and not making him feel like a baby making machine 😂 How’s it going for other hopeful first time mummy’s?

Was just wondering if anyone checks the position of their cervix? Seen quite a lot about it online. I'm a bit weirded out at the idea of going right up there but I suppose I ought to get less squeamish if I want to have a baby! What changes do you look for?

@rosesandponies good question I’d love to know that as well.
According to flo my periods due next Tuesday and I’ve managed to relax about it a bit. Had really sore nipples for a week but they’ve died down now and I keep getting a dull cramp when I stand up too quick. Symptom spotting is making me feel more in the dark haha

@rosesandponies hi lovely. Thank you! Urm, family time dinner etc. Other half has asked my permission to go out for football 😂 we will obviously starting baby making this weekend as next week I'm meant to ovulate so gonna go Saturday, Monday Tues and Wednesday I think! Meant to ovulate Tuesday xx

@rosesandponies I wouldn't know where to start with cervix position. Not really sure what I am looking for to be honest, which is not great when it's my own body!

It’s my 24th tomorrow 😬 but we have a wedding this weekend so we’re going to celebrate it properly on Tuesday as that’s also scan day! 🙊

I've had some pink discharge/spotting today and cramping. I'm 12 dpo, so thinking AF on the way. Never mind, only my first cycle. But can't help feeling a little disappointed - especially since I've literally today just bought some FRERs!

Definitely agree with wishing that there was a 'definite' pregnancy symptom that is not the same as PMS - sadly the only definite one is not getting a period! @LuckyKitty13 sorry hun, I know you say it's only your first cycle but it's still disappointing. Not looking forward to the TWW this month... going to distract myself making decor plans for the new house! (and try to avoid typing 'baby room' into Pinterest 😂)

@flapjackered that’s it and I especially have no clue after coming off the pill. I guess just got to be patient but it’s so hard! My periods due Tuesday and my CM seems to be increasing.
Anyone know how my CM should be a few days before period?

@luckykitty13 it's hard not to feel disappointed isn't it, I'm on cycle 3 now I think of "not trying, but not trying not to" 😂 I was gutted the first cycle but now I'm just going with it.
I've started trying some ovulation tests to check im deffo ovulating and was getting quite worried at getting all negatives since day 8, but today just got a faint line (currently 14dpo but estimated to ovulate on day 12 due to a short cycle) I'm now super excited that something has actually shown on my test - does anyone know if a faint line can show a bit before or after the LH surge? It's not even a positive but I'm still happy to see something other than nothing!
Think I may try DTD tonight anyway!
@rosesandponies how is the house stuff coming along? My DH keeps showing me big family homes to view, maybe I'll put it off for a bit!!

My pathetic excitement at getting a faint half arsed line on an ovulation test. It means sod all but it made me feel happy anyway!!

I got a flashing smiley today from clearblue ov tester! Hopefully this will lead to a solid smiley and ovulAtion! Which will mean my cycle would be more like 35days rather than 56!
I am trying not to get too hopeful though as I had a solid smiley last cycle and i never ovulated.

@Summerbab I think normally they say cm should be dry before af so fx'd that is a good sign! I think that if you're pg then it's ewcm.

@Crossfitgirl it's exciting when you get something other than a blank strip isn't it, unfortunately it is not positive unless it is darker than the control line with those ones. I think sometimes once a faint line appears it can get stronger though.

I'm a little confused. My spotting hasn't progressed to AF - not really even enough for a pad. Just a tiny amount of brown tinged mucous for 2-3 days now. Not had this before. But am having cramps like AF is on the way. Could I still be in for a shot? I'm 14dpo tomorrow so was planning on testing, but wondering if I should wait?

@LuckyKitty13 what day was AF meant to start? If it was by now I'd definitely do a couple of tests

@Crossfitgirl thank you! It's fun thinking ahead to the new house if a bit exhausting in the heat. We took two van loads to the household recycling centre to get rid of some junk, very satisfying!

@rosesandponies yes roughly now. I'll take a test first thing tomorrow. It's a frer so if it's a negative then I'm sure it will be accurate

It felt a bit military though and not at all romantic which isn't great. How are you all finding sex in your fertile time?

@flapjackered very pleased for you on your smiley and dtd! It must be frustrating having such long cycles, so really good that it's come sooner this time! I haven't been talking to my DH about ovulation or being fertile, and he doesn't know I'm doing the OPKs, all he knows is I'm off the pill and we aren't using condoms, he knows I'm tracking my cycle so whether he clocks that I'm more up for it than usual at times I don't know- so because of that I don't feel like we've lost the romance (even though for me it's a little more planned!). We both get stressed easily so I think this works for us, but if we don't conceive after a few months I will have to plan with him a bit more and maybe the romance will be lost a bit. Could you maybe try not telling your OH you're fertile and just make it extremely obvious you're up for it instead? Maybe that could help?
I have had to be much more forthcoming than i usually would be I.e. literally just get naked and jump on him 😂 but he seems to like that! Even when I think he isn't gonna be up for it, like if it's late and he's tired, I've been pleasantly surprised how easy it is to get him in the mood. At least then there's still a bit of mystery - he might clock that you're ovulating, but he won't know for sure and could be just that you are horny. Does that help? You can still have sex then at your fertile time but kind of a bit less "military" if it's only you that's in the know? Xx
