TTC first baby cycle one! Anyone else out there?

So.... first baby 🤞🏼🙏🏽🤞🏼🙏🏽 Meant to be ovulating tomorrow. Main challenge atm is keeping things fun with the husband and not making him feel like a baby making machine 😂 How’s it going for other hopeful first time mummy’s?

@Delilah7 when are you due, can you test yet?

@hamandpease I was due yesterday so I'm on the correct days at the moment.. I don't even think I should test as I'm bleeding. X

Hey ladies sorry that I've been a bit AWOL. I've had such a tough week - AF doesn't help of course 😭 Just keep on feeling it will never happen for me and the thought of gearing up for another cycle of panicking about not DTD enough made me feel like giving up. My husband has been very worried about me and we've had some frank discussions, especially since we went to the doctors and she said DTD 3 or 4 times a week... I feel like he's more on board with making an effort now and says that he's not going to leave it up to me all the time, but of course I need to see the physical evidence of him trying to get it on more now I've stopped bleeding! We're also about to move house, picking up the keys to the first home of our very own in a couple of weeks and coming out of our rented place. The thought of seeing more empty rooms in the new home - which is meant to be the one we grow our family in - has taken the shine off what should be an exciting moment for us. Sorry for the rant ladies - needed to vent a bit 😞

So update for you guys, I believe I am ovulating but I have noticed a real increase in ‘smell’ and the slightest smell is making me feel sick very strange! Maybe it’s just in my mind xx

Ladies, I'm normally very good at replying to everyone's comments in general. But can you guys offer advise. So I came on yesterday medium and ( tmi ) some was coming onto my pad, today I'm light only shows up when I wipe nothing in pad and had a few stringy bits. Seems like it's letting up. Help!

@rosesandponies sorry to hear you are having a hard time. It's definitely harder when you're the one doing all the initiating isn't it? that seems to be the way with me and my DH recently. We are also looking at moving house soon (ours going on the market but not found anywhere) and we are looking for a family home despite not having any kids yet, maybe try not to look at it as empty rooms - make them into usable rooms, have an office, a relax room, a spare guest bedroom - look at it as a fresh start for you as a couple rather than pressure to make a baby! Easier said than done I know, but maybe less focus on a baby will make a baby more likely to come of its own accord! Are you finding it's hard to find time to DTD being so busy? Remember, it only takes one time for it to happen! Xxx

@Delilah7 it may be your body still adjusting after coming off the pill, the doctor said to me that periods might be really light for a while as the uterus doesn't have much to shed, and it takes a little time to build up?
Or could it be implantation bleeding?

@rosesandponies sorry to hear it's been a difficult week but that sounds really positive that your DH is on board with trying harder.

What do you guys do if you aren't getting on with your partner but it's that time? My DH has been super grumpy for a few days and nagging at me about things and the last thing I feel like doing is jumping on him at the mo! But I'm already at the start of my fertile days...

@Crossfitgirl I suppose remember why you love him and all the lovely things he's done for you in the past. How much you look forward to your future together. I'm sure you'll soon forget the little things and be welcoming him into your arms

Thanks @luckykitty13 how lovely I will try and remember that :-) I am going to try get his attention this weekend, I'm at the races tomorrow with the girls so who knows if I'll still be tipsy when I get home!
@delilah7 I think @flapjackered may be right and it could just take a little while for your cycle to settle. Mine has been quite different every time, (came off pill in feb) and last month I just had pink/brown spotting for 3 days, I was convinced I was pregnant and it was an implantation bleed, but it then went to a normal period and lasted 6 days! Whereas my other cycles have lasted 3-4 days but so far all have varied a little in heaviness. It is now getting more consistent so it may be the same for you. I haven't yet missed a period so I haven't bothered testing at all yet, but doesn't stop me being convinced every sign means something. Like even at the mo I am sure I feel nauseous!! Haha x

Thanks for the kind words everyone @FlapJackered DH is much better so far this cycle - we have managed DTD everyday since middle of this week with him initiating (?!) so will see how next week goes, ovulation Friday-ish I think. @Crossfitgirl I d definitely know what you mean about DTD when you're just not connecting that day for whatever reason lol, hope you had a fab day at the races. Great weather for it! Love opportunities for getting dressed up ❤️

I'm now 8 dpo ... this count down to 14dpo (when I plan on testing) is going so slowly!!

The FRER has a calculator that says when you can test (based on not a lot of info so not sure how accurate it is) and it says I can test tomorrow! Should I go out and get some?!

I've got one IC that a friend gave me (in the bag of OPKs) so was going to wait to 14dpo and then use that - Sunday.

Happy to hear that @rosesandponies sounds like you've had a fun week! 🙈 unexpectedly my DH initiated yesterday too so I'm pleased!! I'm expecting to ovulate Wednesday according to Clue, so good timing and hope i can get some more in next few days! I've also got some OPKs and started testing, more just to see if I am actually ovulating when I think I am. no positive tests yet though and I'm CD 10 of a 25 day cycle. Will see how it goes! So much for keeping it chilled I guess lol. @luckykitty13 it depends if you can bear to wait another week! If they aren't much then I'd get some FRER. What is an IC? Xx

@Crossfitgirl IC is internet cheapie pregnancy test. Super cheap but can be very faint even if positive (so I read from my lurking!)

@LuckyKitty13 personally I would wait, as tempting as it is - you will get a much more accurate result if you wait until 12dpo although I know it's so hard to wait!

Good luck @Crossfitgirl - I am cd11 so we are at a similar stage! Although my last cycle was 56 days so a bit longer than yours. I am hoping it will be shorter this time 🤞🏻

@Crossfitgirl I'm meant to be ovulating Thursday according to Flo so we've got really similar times! I haven't been using OTKs this month as they drove me mad last cycle. Got a couple of spots today and breast tenderness which I think are symptoms that it's coming.
@LuckyKitty13 I'd try really hard not to test and try and wait until you're due AF - it's easier said than done I know 😂 On my first cycle I tested 9 days P.O., it was negative but because it was too early I still carried some hope, it made it worse when AF came.
@Delilah7 how's it going love? Sorry to hear gay you've been struggling it's tough TTC. I had no idea how emotionally draining it would be

It's been pretty hard. I've literally just finished my 3rd cycle so I'm waiting to DTD near ovulation. Im just so scared it'll continue on and on and on. I don't want to use the OPKS at the moment! How're you??

@rosiesandponies hey.. I have my dating scan on Tuesday.. exciting stuff.. but I have really bad nausea.. and literally no energy I find myself napping every couple hours.. but it’s all going to be worth it ♥️

TMI but I am getting definite stretchy EWCM now on CD13 which is really early for me considering last cycle I OV'd on CD43? Negative OPKs so not sure what is going on. The annoying thing is OH is getting a sperm test tomorrow, so we are forbidden from DTD before, then he is not going to be up for it tomorrow, so I hope OV holds off for a few days! On the other hand that would mean my cycle would be a normal length which would be amazing!

@FlapJackered good luck with the tests 🤞🏼 Have you found that they've been getting gradually shorter?
