Hi all! So I'm getting married in a year, and we would like to start trying straight after the wedding. I have been using various contraceptives for 8 years, including the pill and implant.

I know it can take a while for you to become regular again, so I was wondering when people suggest coming off the pill so I'm ready for when we want to start??

Hi i came off the pill and planned on trying right away however it took me 6 months to start ovulating and for my body to get back to normal and the one thing I wish I had done was stop the pill sooner. I know other people though that have come off the pill and conceived straight away so just depends but I would say come off a good few months before you want to start trying and use other contraception method for those months x

I guess it depends on your willingness to use other methods of prevention. We hate condoms, so for us it was important that it be ok to get pregnant quickly.

Personally, I would wait until after the wedding to stop taking it. We didn’t wait for my cycles to regulate either when I came off, just had lots of sex!

Doctors advise 6 months before you want to start trying I came off it in November and was pregnant by January after 7 years on it x

For contrast I stopped taking my pill just before October and I was pregnant by Halloween .. I thought it would take me 6 months to a year but I was very very wrong.
