I know there was a suggestion that you can use actual egg white (yes really) but not sure i can remember what the reasoning was.

Isn't it robitussin (a decongestant cough medicine) which can thin CM? I think Evening Primrose Oil can improve CM production (and possibly starflower oil too).

There was a thread about how dietary changes can improve your chances of conception, look in conception topic towards the beggining of this year.

Err, I seem to remember reading that if you have an orgasm before your dh then that helps a lot as it gets the juices flowing....

I think Starflower oil is what you're thinking of.

Hi

I've been taking starflower oil this month and it has definitely thinned my cm - first month of eggwhite in 7 months of ttc! Starflower oil is like evening primrose oil but has a higher concentration of gla - don't understand the science but believe it works!

Only take between cd1 and ovulation though as something in it can cause uterine contractions I think... there is a theory about using Flaxseed oil for after O, but haven't had this confirmed so haven't tried it yet!

I tried robitussin cough mixture (active ingredient Gualfenesin which thins any kind of mucus) for 2 months without a noticeable change...

Bibi20, where did you purchase your starflower oil, and can you take a tablet form, is it expensive and do you have to mix it with something or take it neat

Hi Malinki

I bought my supply from Holland & Barrett (during their sale - it might still be on) and price wasn't too bad. They're with the evening primrose oil and seem to be cheaper. Got capsules of 1000 mg each.

Best to take them with food (if I don't I can feel a bit queasy and then start thinking I'm pg even when I haven't even ovulated for the month - that crazy thing when you wonder if the period you just had was a real one or not? Side point - but on GMTV this morning woman who had twins without even knowing she was pregnant - that kind of story realy doesn't help obsessives like me!)

Robitussin cough medicine is good - I used it. It has to me the one with a specific ingredient in it, beginning with "g". I'll try and find it for you.

Well, well, well...isn't it amazing what you can read on the internet! Have just read about the Robitussin (sp?) and it's encouraging but woudl be scared due the risk of neutral tube defect and something else it mentioned. Will just buy starflower oil tomorrow.

Just popped into Sainsburys and bought my Starflower caps, I got 30 for 2.99 gbp (lets see how I get on), they are not massive like I thought they were going to be and the caps are see through, so you can see the oil, they are 500mg, and they taste ok (just had the 1st one )
