We are TTC. I was feeling pregnant before my period was due so took a test and got the world's faintest shadow of a line. Then my period came -not spotting, defo a period. It finished 2 or 3 days ago. Felt twinges this morning so did an opk which came up with two lines really fast. Did a PG test to be sure (four actually) and they all came up with clear as day bfps. Is it left over from a chemical? Have I miscarried? If so why are the lines stronger? Is it ectopic? Is it possible to have a period and still be pregnant? My mind is blown. Confused

Had a scan this morning and there was nothing there. Need to have more blood taken next week. They’re not sure if I’ve miscarried naturally or it could be ectopic. Feel devastated. Hope you have more positive news x

I'm so sorry to hear that. Awful for you that you still don't know for sure what's going on as well. Hope you get some answers soon x

Thank you x

Sad conclusion to my tale is that the blood hcg results where higher but not high enough. They scanned me again and this time saw an ectopic in my right tube, they offered me medical management (hard-core drug injection followed up by regular blood tests and no ttc for 3 months) or surgery to have the whole tube removed with no follow up treatment barring infection etc. They said the tube would be little use to me if I kept it as the ectopic would have damaged it, so I went for the surgery.

What a bloody week. I hope you have a happier outcome Mummy but if not it's not too awful. Op was quick and fertility levels aren't significantly reduced for a future pregnancy. And we're both already lucky enough to have a lovely little one to return home to x

Sorry to hear that. It’s bloody awful going through this. Glad to hear you’re feeling positive about everything and fingers crossed for a happy outcome in the future. I’m just at the EPU finding out if it’s ectopic or not. Very nervous! And you’re absolutely right... we’re so lucky already. Hope you have a speedy recovery. Will keep you posted at my end x x

Hi I'm so sorry to read this. I too had two ectopic pregnancies, first one my tube ruptured & the second had attached itself to the outside of my womb as the previous doctor didn't do a very good job when he removed my tube.
But once I was ready to try again, it only took me 3 months to conceive my DD, with one tube. So please find comfort that when you are ready, you can having a perfectly normal pregnancy.Kirstie
Big hugs x

Thanks ladies, you always think these things happen to 'someone else'. Really hope I'm your 'someone else'
@mummytoboy and it turns out to just be a weirdo blastocyst misbehaving temporarily.

Thank you for your story @pudding it's very reassuring. So glad you got a happy ending x

So my levels aren’t dropping quickly enough to rule out an ectopic. They’re going to take more blood on Thursday to see what’s going on. 3 weeks of not knowing what’s going on x x

BuntyII · 15/05/2018 09:44

Sorry it wasn't better news OP. I also conceived easily with one tube, so don't worry about that. Take care Thanks

Flappergirl86 · 15/05/2018 15:59

Thanks Bunty and everything crossed for Thursday MTB x

Thanks @Flappergirl86. Luckily my levels have dropped by half since Tuesday, so it doesn’t look like an ectopic. I’ll need to do another home test in a couple of weeks to confirm. It just looks like my body is slow to recognise that I’ve miscarried. I feel relieved to finally know what’s going on. But still feel very sad about everything. How are you feeling? X x

Flappergirl86 · 17/05/2018 20:25

I'm sorry to hear it's bad news but it's good that your body is healing itself and doesn't need any interventions.
I'm feeling pretty sad too. Have only told a handful of people but have been really touched by how kind and understanding they have all been which makes it sadder in a way! Think we just need to take it day by day. Thanks for sharing your experience, it's been a relief to have somewhere to talk about it. X

Same to you. Hopefully I’ll see your name pop up in a happier post. Big hugs x x
