Right time to try?!

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this so bare with me!

Myself and my partner have agreed to start trying next month and both really excited, he's wonderful and I know he will be a great dad.

So with regards to us having a child and even pregnancy I feel mostly chilled (which I think is because I know I could be looking at a long time to get there, if at all) but I am concerned as I am currently on microgynon which I intend to stop this month in order to begin trying, so I'm wondering if anyone else has been in a similar position and how long it took them to conceive?

I am someone who once I have something in my head I want it done then and there and I'd like to go into this with realistic expectations so I don't end up too disappointed. My sister has really struggled to conceive in the past and had 3 miscarriages (she now has two beautiful children, thankfully) so I am very aware that I might not even be lucky enough to conceive at all, and yet here I am expecting it to happen first time we try!

Any advice welcome! Xxx

I was on microgynon and stopped to ttc. First baby took 2 cycles, happened really quick. Second baby took 12 cycles. Sorry that’s not much help but it’s what happened with us. Good luck ttc! Flowers

Me and my friend coincidentally decided to TTC at the same time.

She’d been on the Pill for 10 years and fell pregnant on her first cycle.

I had never been on the pill and it took me 10 cycles.

There are no set rules to conception and everyone will have their individual story to tell. All the responses to this will be anecdotal, which is great, but it has no bearing on how quickly you will or won’t fall pregnant.

You’re going in to it with a positive attitude so just keep reminding myself it may happen on cycle 1 but on the other end of the scale it could take a year.

Good luck though OP and I hope it happens quickly for you!! Flowers
