Hi there

I posted on Chat but I think this is a better place to post? Sorry, fairly new to this and sorry for the length of my ramblings

Have been on Depo continuously for 2 years.

I should have had my depo shot on 2nd April but they had no appointments until 11th April, 10 days later (during this time i had period type pains and a bit of spotting). I thought I would be okay to have unprotected sex (before the late shot, and after), but have since read up about it and see this isn't the case!

I am now convinced I am pregnant - but at only 3 weeks later, its too early for a test ( i have tried two and both negative)

Could it be possible? My breasts arent sore but the have gone up x2 cup sizes. I am having period type cramps and weird feelings in my lower abdomen. I have coldsores (this happened in my last pregnancy). Mad cravings for sweet stuff (usually a savory gal). I have big patches of dry, itchy, flaky skin in random areas of my body. I am fatigued. And my god, needing a wee constantly - I went 7 times last night?! And my moods have been up and down.

Could this be a phantom pregnancy, or could I actually have gotten pregnant during this 10 day window (and the 2 weeks after where I was supposed to be using extra protection)

Please help!! I went to the doc and she said it sounded like pregnancy but I need to wait 2 weeks to do a test!! ARGH! Please someone talk me down!

Hun it's unlikely I came off a year ago and only started ovulating last month most women take a 6 months to a year after the depo to get pregnant the symtoms your experiencing is probably due side effects of not having your depo on time.

When I was on Depo, it took 9 months to get back to normal and have a period. I came off it because I felt overdosed on hormones after my last injection, made me feel quite ill

Thanks both

I think the advice they give on their website has knocked me... It says if the injection is more than 5 days late, you are not protected for the following 2 weeks and should use extra contraception.

I was 10 days late and have taken no extra precautions. And I am having all these symptoms. I know the likelihood is that I'm not pregnant but I'm driving myself mad

On the other hand, I came off depo after being on it for 3 years and got pregnant immediately...

All you can do is wait and take a test in a couple of weeks. It would be incredibly unlikely, but possible.

It's the waiting that drives me mad.

So it can happen straight away, but not likely. Hmm

Its too early for a reliable test result, right? Or can I listen to the negative result and get on the wine this bank holiday weekend!?!?

I will be at 13 weeks after injection on the 20th may . I'm not having another one as I want TTC. Keep me updated as it would be nice to know it can happen earlier 🤞.

I hope it doesn't take long I'm already looking at Baby stuff and picking names like an absolute crazy person 😂
Thanks xxxx

Hello!

Did a test today, which is still a few days earlier than the doc recommended (I'm truly rubbish at waiting) and it came back not pregnant. Not sure whether I'm relieved or disappointed! Good luck with ttc, if you remember to come and update when it happens, please do! X
