Positive hpt but got period this morning

looking for friendly advise 😀

5 days ago I did a hpt clear blue. Got a faint positive. Waited until yesterday to retest and got a darker positive but this morning I got my period. Feeling a little disheartened as would have loved to have another baby. Is it possible to get a false positive?!?

Unusual. More likely it was a chemical pregnancy I'm afraid.

Although I hate that term so sorry for using it!

If your period is a little different to usual, it could be implantation bleeding. So many test again. Chemicals they don't tend to get darker. Good luck. Xx

Hi OP, test again this morning, if it's still positive perhaps go to the doctors and they can do a blood test?

It could be a chemical or it could just be a bleed during pregnancy. Some women still have bleeds when their periods would be due for the whole 9 months.
Personally I would wait out the bleed and then test again. If it's negative you know it was a chemical and if it's positive then you could go to drs for bloods and confirmation.

Thanks for replies. Been cramping and still bleeding (sorry tmi) but it’s turned bright pink. I phoned doctors and she basically said 𝒴𝑜𝓊𝓇 not pregnant 𝒴𝑜𝓊𝓇 on period and that the test must have been read wrong.
