Please can somebody advise! I’m driving myself insane!
So I am very fortunate to already be a mum to healthy 4yr old however in Feb, my partner and I decided to try for another! I was on the Patch however stopped mid Feb! Prior to this always have like clockwork periods, and still did coming off, every 21days or so! Give or take a day! I have been loosely tracking ovulation via an app.
However, I was due my period last Thursday 26, I had some slight spotting a week prior, just once when I wiped and that’s it!
Yesterday evening I realised I was 5 days late, bought 2 clear blue tests, one I did excitedly and must of done it wrong as the control box indicated it didn’t work. (Still negative) so did the 2nd one half way through the night when I needed the toilet, negative. Still no period, have really tender breasts, which I don’t really get when due on and have been really tired! That’s it!
Today, bought another test, negative! And some very light spotting.
It’s driving me mad. I’ll be 7days late tomorrow, not had a period since 27th March, which is extremely abnormal for myself! Unsure at what point to go to the docs?
Any advise or recommendations, I’m googling too much and getting concerned! 🙈

As you’ve only just come off contraception your body will probably just need a bit of time to get back to normal cycles. It may be that you’ve ovulated late this month? This has just happened to me! The only way you can tell is if you start using opks and temping.

What is opks? Sorry, so much of this jargon is lost on me! Haha!

Well, as of this morning it appears my period has arrived! I never experienced a late period like this before (apart from being pregnant!) how long roughly do you think it takes for your body to return to normal after coming off contreception?

Many thanks! Smile

Hey it is ovulation predictor kit - you can get some reasonably priced ones of amazon - they are called one step. Also download one of the period tracker apps - there are a few good ones e.g. Flo, Ovia, Glow. This will give you an idea of when you are likely to ovulate based on your cycle lengths/periods. You can then use the opks around the fertile window it tells you and you will be able to figure out when you ovulate. It gets more accurate once you've put in all your data for a few months.

To be honest it really varies on each person - some people go straight back into regular cycles, others have really irregular cycles. I'm sure I have read somewhere it can take you a year to get back to your normal cycles after coming off the pill so not sure if thats the same for your contraceptive.
