@Boboelephant will phone results after school run.
Ready for the results. Will attempt to stop my google obsession until I know the hcg is back to normal.

Lilimum4 · 14/05/2018 08:37

@Boboelephant I still don't know. I'm booked to go back tomorrow. They did hcg test last appointment bfn but was only 5dpo so I'm grasping at straws that it could still be my month ( stupid I know). I think more like a no as I've no symptoms either but ( what if ) xx

Martydog · 14/05/2018 08:55

Back at epu as 2nd set of tablets haven't worked. Got to see the doctor to see what's going to happen next

weasledee · 14/05/2018 08:55

Another BFN and period cramps so I. Know I'm out.....
So, thinking of the next month, have you if you been prescribed 5mg of folic acid? Doc said take it once pregnant but wondering if taking it before would help? Do any of you take it now whilst still trying?

Martydog · 14/05/2018 09:05

I took 5mg of folic acid before I got my bfp my doctor just told me to start taking it as if you have too much folic acid your body will just wee it out.

weasledee · 14/05/2018 09:51

Thanks martydog!

KnitKitty · 14/05/2018 10:03

Yes I take folic acid 5mg because I have higher risk of spina bifida as I have a very mild form of it myself. Doctor said to start taking it as soon as TTC and can't overdose as excess is weed out, so fine to take along side regular multivitamin containing folic acid.

DBoo · 14/05/2018 10:42

I'm on 5mg folic acid due to problems in previous pregnancies and bmi and i was advised to start taking it 3 months prior to ttc.

Lovemysparkle · 14/05/2018 10:46

Morning all congratulations to all bfp’s ❤️ Sorry for all newcomers absolutely great bunch here👍🏼 Thinking of you all in 2ww & limbo💐
Well af arrived Saturday cd26 as expected with bells & knobs on!!! Felt a bit pissed off but on the other hand still trying to turn negative to positive my next af will be due a week before wedding day so will be totally good for wedding day & off to Majorca in fertile week 😁😁😁 so lots of HONEYMOON JKS!!!! Also not got time to feel shite about it as working full time & planning the rest of our wedding is taking up all hours 🙈 lots of love & hugs to you all & can’t wait for poas Friday to hopefully see lots more MAY MIRACLES ❤️❤️

BabynameEdie · 14/05/2018 10:51

Bfn and a wasted frer at 10dpo 😩 just feel a bit unusual so getting hopes up but as you say @Boboelephant it's all just normal hormones at this stage of cycle so can't really tell..how's everyone else on tww doing?

HidCat · 14/05/2018 12:11

@Lovemysparkle don't you just love it when it all falls into place?

Hoping there are some BFPs just around the corner for those in the TWW. I'm on CD10 now but DH is off work with a cold FFS. Hoping he'll be back to normal within a few days.

Feeling a bit down this week, whole of hubby's family are off to Majorca but we didn't book on as thought I'd be 7 months pregnant and didn't want to chance it or spend money and of course it was sold out when we realised we could go and we didn't even have a passport for DS. Very gutted now. Will have to look for something else ASAP.

Boboelephant · 14/05/2018 12:29

@L1zz13 what did they say?
@Lilimum4 good luck for tomorrow. Not stupid at all. Lots of people have no symptoms and get bfp! I have a few less than usual this month and desperately hoping this is a good sign!
@Martydog that's rubbish, sorry hun. What did doc say?
@weasledee sorry for bfn. When is af due? Not sure about folic acid but fx for next month for you.
@Lovemysparkle sorry af got you but i think this is better! Enjoy champers at your wedding and then make a honeymoon baby!!
@BabynameEdie sorry for your bfn too but you know it's still so early! I'm doing ok but definitely analysing everything!
@HidCat ahh that's tough. Definitely book a lovely getaway- you deserve it!

Wish me luck ladies. Seeing consultant tonight to get all my results from my bloods and scan. 🤞🤞

L1zz13 · 14/05/2018 13:22

My hcg went up from 35 to 36. Ffs
Feel shit but still I'm hopeful it will plummet after next Af.
Have requested a drs phone call from the numpty one. No idea what he'll say or even if he'll call! Going to try an push for another blood test after the Next Af.

Laney79 · 14/05/2018 13:40

Congrats on the BFPs...sorry to see the new boss on here. Such an awful thing to happen. This thread is such a saviour though-stopped me from meltdowns several times!

@Martydog so sorry-that happened to me. if you really want to avoid surgery see if they'll give you mifepristone as well as the misoprostol -that worked for me. It's what they used to do for missed miscarriage and still do if people request a medical abortion. There appears to be a higher success rate.

@weasledee my GP has given me the higher dose folic acid and told me to take it the same as I was with the lower dose stuff. Basically whilst TTC, so I'm taking it now as well as vitamin D.

Sadly for me I can't get back to TTC...still bleeding 18 days after start of miscarriage (following medical management with Mife/miso). It's so frustrating! Barely anything really but it's clotty/tissue so too gross to even think about jumping on the fella...plus it tends to come with pain...and I'm worried about infection.

We're off on hols two weeks on thurs...o really hope it's finished by then. I want to be able to swim! It's 30 degrees in Greece! And I want to JKS my way through the fortnight. Please keep your fingers crossed for me ladies.

hayleyfx · 14/05/2018 13:48

Yay!! Positive OPK! I’m so excited as I’m ovulating at a normal time this month & also have been dtd at the perfect time haha!!

@L1zz13 I’m so sorry this is dragging out for you still. Rubbish. I hope it’s totally over for you soon, it makes it harder when it seems like it’s neverending! Hugs Flowers
@BabynameEdie ah sorry for the bfn 😒 they’re always rubbish but you’ve got plenty of time left for a line to develop!! Fingers crossed 🤞
@Lovemysparkle sorry that af arrived but you seem really positive and you should be, it’s always great when you know things are getting back on track!! & hopefully better news next month 😊
@weasledee sorry 😔 hopefully some better news next month for all who have been caught by af. Fingers crossed!

zarala · 14/05/2018 13:54

@Laney79 eugh that's so frustrating! I feel like I bled through the whole of March! Just wouldn't end! Make sure you take some iron because of all the blood loss- I'm taking floradix and I really felt good once I started it!

@weasledee yes definitely take folic acid while TTC- it's takes 3 months for eggs to mature before our bodies pop them out so they recommend starting vitamins and folic acid from 3 months before TTC.

Also I just came back from my first appointment with Dr Shehata he recommends everyone to take baby aspirin when TTC- apparently it helps the uterus lining to be spongier and more welcoming for embryos! And it increases blood flow so increases fertility!
And also reduces chances of miscarriage!
So I think we should all get on that- if not already?!
He also recommends everyone to take multivitamins, vitamin D and omega 3. Just thought you ladies might like to know

I then had what felt like a pint of blood taken and I get my results in 3 weeks.

Good luck @Boboelephant today with your results! Let us know how it goes!

Cakelaur · 14/05/2018 14:10

@L1zz13 so sorry it's shit and dragging out. Have they suggested what to do if it doesn't go down after af?

@Boboelephant good luck for your results babe. I've defo missed what the scans and stuff were for (sorry brain like a sieve) but hopefully they're positive results!

@hayleyfx YES for opk!! I always feel better when it's all timed nicely!

Come on May Miracles I'd like BFPs for my birthday on Saturday!!! Seeing as I wasn't invited to the royal wedding I need some good stuff as a present!! 😂

Cakelaur · 14/05/2018 14:11

P.S. @Boboelephant don't think I've forgotten that if you get a bfp this month.... baby will have the initials JKS!!! 😂

TedLife · 14/05/2018 14:44

Hi Ladies,

This is my first post, ever on Mumsnet actually. Sadly I had a MMC (at around 8 weeks but i thought i was 10+5) a couple of weeks ago and miscarried naturally on May 3rd it was my first time being pregnant so it was quite a blow and i'm still coming to terms with it. I took a test today and was thrilled to see my BFN.

I've been reading this thread and keeping an eye on your progress but now feel like I can finally join you! I may still wait for first AF to start trying again but it feels nice to be with likeminded company (hope it's not against the rules!).

Just wanted to say hi and hopefully i'll be joining you on the TTC bus very soon Smile

L1zz13 · 14/05/2018 14:58

You've defo come to right place @TedLife 🤗
Sorry for your loss.

Primrose16 · 14/05/2018 16:15

@TedLife welcome, sorry for your loss

Lovemysparkle · 14/05/2018 16:22

Ladies need your advice/input please!! I am due 1 more af before wedding day (16.6.18) which if my cycle behaves & stays at cd26 af will arrive 7.6.18 so as mentioned earlier will be good for wedding day & minimoon 👍🏼 & brucie bonus is fw 😁 mine & dp’s dilemma is shall we use protection this month so am gurenteed af to show & all be good or carry on ttc??? The thing that we are worried about is if I was to get a bfp there is a risk of having a cp/early mc that would totally happen around our wedding day/minimoon & as you all know we want a bubs more than anything in the world but if the worst happened we don’t want to remember our special day being an emotional wreck/associated with yet another mc.
We are trying to not over analyse this decision but it’s hard not to! It’s a big wedding 150 people!! So do we wait to carry on ttc on minimoon as Mr & Mrs or leave it to fate??? I would really appreciate your thoughts/advice on this as I know you’ll be honest with me❤️

DBoo · 14/05/2018 16:38

@lovemysparkle personally id have a month off and enjoy the wedding and honeymoon.

My wedding is booked for october next year and we will stop ttc december if have no luck before then so im not pregnant for the wedding - just too stressful if fell pregnant wondering what would happen.

HidCat · 14/05/2018 16:54

@TedLife I'm so sorry to see that you're joining us but welcome and I hope you're doing ok. Give yourself time to heal and jump back on the TTC wagon when you're ready. In the meantime these Penguins will will look after you 🐧🐧🐧

@Lovemysparkle if in doubt and it's going to affect your wedding day then yes, skip a month. It would be nice to have sex for fun in the lead to your wedding!

Boboelephant · 14/05/2018 17:23

@L1zz13 and @Laney79 so sorry this is dragging on for both of you. Fx things move on for you soon.
@zarala thanks for all the tips and the good wishes!
@hayleyfx woohoo for ovulation!!!
@Cakelaur these are the ones I had 8 weeks ago when I saw that rude consultant. Basically just checking everything. Progesterone, ovaries, AMH etc... and hahaha I knew you wouldn't forget that!!! 😂😂
@TedLife you are very welcome and so sorry for your loss.
@Lovemysparkle I would take a month off. It's only one month and not worth the worry. And it's so romantic to start ttc again on your honeymoon!!
