@BabynameEdie I'm good thanks. PMS was horrible last week but cleared as soon as AF started yesterday. Normal bleeding and minimal discomfort luckily so was able to enjoy my LO's Birthday day out yesterday and going to a baby shower this afternoon which I'm really excited about (one of my best friends who had IVF after struggling for over 2 years).

@Cakelaur keeping everything crossed that Friday brings good news for you.

Good luck to everyone in the TWW!

L1zz13 · 06/05/2018 13:24

I'm grumpy!
Grumpy for allowing it all to take over her thought of the day. Grumpy for not having enough sex! Grumpy as that pos test is probably going to affect my cycle. Grumpy as I've yet to eat anything today!

However, our local village shop has just installed a slushy machine. I have a slushy! Slushy makes me happy!

I'm guess this is tww now. I'm hopeful I did O. But not overly optimistic and that will be fine too. I guess

Curlypop · 06/05/2018 14:23

Why is the two week wait he longest two weeks ever? Dragging sooo much

Cakelaur · 06/05/2018 14:30

Thanks ladies. I'm home Wednesday so there will only be two days really to wait. Scan is first thing Friday morning. Eek!! 🙈

Laney79 · 06/05/2018 15:18

Ok ladies I could do with some advice.

I'm still bleeding a little following medical management just over a week ago (fri 27th April, although I think I probably passed the sac two days later on the Sunday). I'm guessing it's normal to still have some pain (mainly on the right hand side) and bleeding/small clots even after a week or so...

But my mind is turning to ttc...last test I did was very faintly positive, but hoping that soon becomes a BFN.

So questions are...how long could I go on bleeding for? is it still poss to ovulate with a very faint positive?

And most importantly I need your top tips to make sure we give getting pregnant again the best poss chance. I have some cheap strip opks from Amazon as well as a few clear blue digital opks (more on order thanks to the groupon offer-thanks!)....so when do I start doing those? And is it just a once a day thing? I've noticed people say don't use your first wee of the morning?

Also do I need to check my temperature? I bought a digital thermometer...

Just need a bit of guidance. Desperate to get back to trying as soon as the bleeding stops.
Thanks xxx

Cakelaur · 06/05/2018 15:28

Hi @Laney79 not too much advice re the medical management route as I had surgical and bleeding was very minimal. I found that I ovulated a week later than usual. (Which was one week after my bfn)
Best advice for getting knocked up again is sex, loads of it. Don't bother too far in advance as you just get tired. Maybe do every other day until you get a positive opk then do 3 days in a row. Then relax.
I did opks and bbt. (You need a special bbt thermometer that measure 0.00 rather than 0.0 degrees) basic rules of temping:
Take your temp at the same time every morning
Have it be the first thing you do (litterally wake up and stick the thermometer in your mouth)
I set an alarm each day. Every day!!
Record it on an app (I personally prefer fertility friend as it gives advice and tells you when you've ovulated it also learns your cycles and will help predict fertile week)
Bbt does not predict ovulation. You need opks for that. Pee on them twice a day around 4pm and 10pm from roughly cd8 until you get a positive. (This is for a 28 day cycle if it's longer push it back a bit)
Once you've ovulated you should see your temp jump up. (Generally temps pre ov are around 35.8-36.4 and post ov are 36.4-37.0) but each person is a little different.
The cycle I got pregnant I ate pineapple core from 1dpo-5dpo and used progesterone cream from 3dpo onwards (no idea if it helped but I was convinced I had low progesterone and that's why I lost the first)
I also used fertility check gel from boots which I really liked (helps get the sperm up there) and we had sex for 8 days in a row from cd8-cd15 (I o'd cd14)
Good luck. 🤞🏻

Cakelaur · 06/05/2018 15:30

Oooor... you could be a normal person and just have sex!!! 😂

Oh and look out for fertile 'egg white' cm! 😉

Smoothieyummy · 06/05/2018 17:54

@cakelaur I used the fertility gel last time too as well as keeping my bum up higher than my upper body straight after to support the swimmers, we conceived straight away first time we tried, and I lost my precious little thing at 9 weeks. Ever since I was scared of providing any extra support as in my head I blamed perhaps a weak swimmer (with all the help) got to the egg and fertilised it. Now this cycle we're back at it and looks like it's BFN for us, I'm considering using the gel etc but I'm just so afraid.

HidCat · 06/05/2018 17:56

Ladies, I'm at a baby shower and just passed a huge clot, about the size of a walnut. I'm now crying in the toilets because I feel like it was the sac (I didn't see it pass during my miscarriage - had so little bleeding) and I'm getting fairly strong cramps. What do I do?

L1zz13 · 06/05/2018 17:58

@Cakelaur nowhere on this thread is normal lol (no offence intended) we're a bunch of crazies!
I'd recommend you do want you feel you need to do in order to try and have some control over ttc.
We obviously struggle with control don't we!?!

I've gone to the pub. I thought fuck it! Funniest thing is I found wine helps with my back ache! Off to some dodgy South African restaurant in a bit!

And chill.....

L1zz13 · 06/05/2018 18:01

Oh @HidCat go home. Xx
Did you try to retrieve it to check?
Bless you love.

Try and make an excuse to leave xx

HidCat · 06/05/2018 18:59

Thanks @L1zz13 It came away when I wiped and I always inspect so saw it. Just shocked me. Luckily my friend knew and came to check on me when I was ages so I told her and she just have me a big hug and calmed me down.

Cakelaur · 06/05/2018 19:43

@Smoothieyummy I got bfp again this time. Currently 7+5, I'll let you know on Friday if there's still a heartbeat, but I think it helps them all get up there, slow ones or good ones. Next time round I bet a good one gets the egg! 😉🤞🏻

@HidCat defo get yourself home. Hope you're ok babe. Thinking of you. And get some painkillers into you.

@L1zz13 you got that right babe... a bunch of crazy 🐧

sweetpea0318 · 06/05/2018 20:47

@hidcat hope you’re doing ok & looking after yourself at home. Big hugs xx

@cakelaur not long to go. Fx for you for next wk x

I want to get your opinions on something pls. Currently on cd 39 since start of mc. Been waiting for hcg levels to reach zero which they finally did when took pg test last thurs and bfn. Anyway today just thought would do an opk just to see if there was anything going on as still no sign of af & got what looks like a faint line. Now I’m confused as thought would get af as soon as hcg dropped not ovulation but it looks like I’m on the way to O. Does this sound right in your experiences?

L1zz13 · 06/05/2018 21:55

@sweetpea0318 these are my opks since 28th March thru today. I didn't take one every day.
My mc bleeding started 15th March. I suspect it had failed a week or two before hand (not a qualified opinion, just mine) and I bled for about 5-6 days. I was approx 9 wks at start of bleeding.
My opks have been all over the place.

Sorry I don't have an answer but I can offer a real time comparison.
I've had my 1st Af 20th April (5 weeks after mc) it was pretty lumpy and had was I think was left over 'baby stuff'.

My body suggested O twice since mc and opks registered I did at the end of March but not the one my body recognised over the last few days.

I've no idea what's going on. I even have a pos hcg to add to the confusion and there's no way that make sense or even taking seriously. Hence my partaking in bank holiday drinking shenanigans! 😉

I hope that helps.

I hope you're okay @HidCat Xx

YellowDaffodils86 · 06/05/2018 22:20

@sweetpea0318 i got a bfn about week after i stopped bleeding.
I then ovulated/got a pos opk, for 3 days!, a week after that. Two weeks later i got my first period since mc. It was normal length and flow as all my others. I have now ovulated about cd16.
Hope it helps.

@HidCat sorry today went the way it did, Are you ok? X

rdm10 · 06/05/2018 22:23

@HidCat Hope you’re ok. I remember passing the sac and it was just so very sad, it just felt so final. Look after yourself.

@Boboelephant no I’m not tracking, just using cm as a guide. I’ll buy some opks for next month though if I’m not successful this time

sweetpea0318 · 06/05/2018 22:30

Thanks @L1zz13 & @yellowdaffodil - that’s helpful. So confusing to know what’s going on! Will dtd anyway to cover all bases.

L1zz13 · 06/05/2018 22:33

@sweetpea0318 I should also add
My hcg was positive until end of Af or so I thought. Having second doubts now about the reliability of the tests I used! It would appear one brand says pos and another neg. That's sill the case today !

BabynameEdie · 06/05/2018 22:49

@HidCat sending lots of love your way, I'm so glad you had a good friend there to support you, it's so helpful when you can talk to someone. I remember passing the sac too and felt so shocked, I had read about it but just didn't expect it to happen when it did & then I didn't know what to do with it 😢 felt so final and dramatic.
However, ironically after that I really turned a corner and was able to let go a bit more, emotionally, and then ovulated a week later. Now in second cycle after all that.
There is hope and light coming, but for now snuggle up on your sofa with a hot water bottle on your tum, take ibuprofen and paracetamol and watch a really good film, or two. Only do what you feel up to doing, cancel everything else. 💕🌷🌿

HidCat · 07/05/2018 08:26

Hey everyone, thank you so much for yesterday. I'd been doing really well until that moment. Managed to stay in the end and even had a cuddle with a gorgeous 4 week old baby. Came home soon after and cuddled up with my little boy. Feeling better today, trying to remind myself that this is the new start and not being in limbo is a good thing.

@sweetpea0318 I got negative hcg about 4 weeks ago, ovulated about 10 days after and period started Saturday morning so your experience matches mine.

Hope everyone's making the most of the good weather!

sweetpea0318 · 07/05/2018 08:45

Thanks @hidcat glad you’re feeling better today - def good to not be stuck in limbo xx

strawberrye · 07/05/2018 09:20

Morning ladies, I have a question for you all. I found out recently that some friends of ours are going through miscarriage at the moment, found out at their 12 week scan. This news has really hit me, I feel so much sorrow for them and actually am feeling worse about this than the early miscarriage I have just had. That makes me feel guilty that I should be feeling worse about my 2nd MC, but I guess the depth of my sadness for my friends may also be a reflection of how I'm feeling about my situation? Have any of you felt similarly?

Lilimum4 · 07/05/2018 09:39

Morning ladies hope everyone is good. I'm think I have hit tww as I believe I ovulated yesterday. Lots of sharp pain in my left lower tummy followed by cramps. I googled it and it seemed to match ovulation pains. Never had this before I was quite scared. Good luck to all of you. Sending lots of baby dust xx

L1zz13 · 07/05/2018 09:49

@Lilimum4 sounds like Ov pains sharp and stabby is how I'd describe them.

@strawberrye don't pressure yourself to feel one way or another. Having experienced it twice has taught you how to cope and that you can cope. We all can. If anything feel good about being able to support your friends. Xx
