4 days late neg and pos test 😭

Hi guys. I’m 4 days late, usually have a 28 day cycle so should have started on the 19th. I did a hpt on Friday which had a really really really faint line which both me and my husband could see, however I did another this morning and it was a definite negative.

Since Friday I’ve had really light watery flakey brown discharge and this morning when I wiped there was a smear of brighter looking blood, but nothing since.

I’m going to try and get a drs appointment this week as we have been trying for a while now, but does anyone know if I could still poss be pregnant? They were both Tesco tests, I have a clear blue digital but don’t want to waste it as they’re so expensive!!

Thanks

You can have a fake negative but not a fake positive. It's still early days, try testing with a frer as they are better at deflecting pregnancy early. Try not to worry just yet at the bleeding (I had bleeding the day I got my bfp and it was my only successful pregnancy) but also be prepared that it could be a chemical pregnancy. Test again in the morning with your first per and good luck

When I was a few days late, I did a test which was v faint positive. I then got a negative test the next day. I was pregnant. I had some bleeding a few weeks later. Gp sent me to early pregnancy unit just in case. Had a scan and all was well. Went on to have a healthy pregnancy.

Update- still no AF now 5 days late. Clear blue digital said ā€˜not pregnant’ this morning. Lots of brown flakey bits when I got in the bath yesterday. I’m going to go to the doctors tomorrow but not really sure what to say, any advice?

How long have you been trying and how old are you?

Aprilmightbemynewname · 23/04/2018 10:40

No disrespect but I doubt your Dr will be interested tbh. Cb need a higher hcg to get a bfp. Or it could be a chemical pregnancy. Time will tell unfortunately. Ttc /pregnancy is a law unto itself.
Hard to be patient I get!!

I’m 24 we’ve been trying 8 months now! I was planning on going to the drs if it didn’t work this month anyway to say we we’re struggling but now this has complicated things!!

8 months is normal. You can expect it to take a year. They won't investigate until then.

And they usually won't do anything until you've missed 2 periods.

I think there's little point seeing a GP just yet.

Chances of conceiving are never more than 25% btw. That's why it takes most couples between 6 and 12 months to conceive.

I'd take a wait and see approach for now. Any pain, feeling unwell or strange bleeding and I'd get checked out.
