Alcohol during tww and miscarriage

So I've had 3 mcs all around 5 weeks. I took a 'drink before it's pink' attitude (and enjoyed coffee) and tested daily to be sure I'd catch the pregnancy early and stop the wine and get some decaf in. All 3x within a week of the bfp I miscarried.

I know I should get some investigation (and I will), but I can't help but wonder if it was the wine and caffeine? I know babies are conceived in cocktail drenched honeymoons, music festivals etc but I can't help but wonder? What do you think MN?

It definitely isn't the caffeine or alcohol. The blastocyst/embryo isn't connected to any part of your body until it implants, and even after implantation it doesn't share your blood supply for several weeks. It's literally more or leas impossible for the embryo to be exposed to caffeine and alcohol through you at that stage.

I'm sorry for your losses and hope you get some insight and your next pregnancy sticks, but trust me, it isn't any of your doing. I'd guess more likely an immune or a clotting issue, both of which can be investigated via recurrent miscarriage treatment.

Thanks so much for replying. I'm a bit scared of going to RMC in case they scold me

Posted too soon - thanks, you've helped to reassure me. I knew the odds were small but it's a niggling doubt in the background.

I agree. I had a chem the cycle before DS being conceived and I avoided wine, coffee, etc. Good luck with identifying if there is an issue but the wine and coffee honestly wouldn't be an issue at such an early stage.
