Just stopped taking the pill

Hi ladies,

So I was taking the pill for just over a month, stopped on the 7th day of my second pack. Had a withdrawal bleed 2 days later, lasting for 2-3 days, then had sex a week after that. It’s been 2 days since we tried, and I’m now getting what seems to be my usual ovulation symptoms.

So my questions are: could I still get a BFP if ovulation is starting 2 days after sex? And has anyone been so lucky so soon after stopping taking the pill?

YES me!!!! I stopped the pill in March had a 3 day bleed and just found out I’m pregnant... was due af around now! My story is identical to yours too...
although we had been dtd excessively 😂 which I think helped!! Good luck :)

@rose2887 @pinkshake This is literally my story. I stopped my pill end of March and had a withdrawal bleed 3 days later and now no period but cramping all the time

@rose2887 I have no idea. My last pill was the 26th March I had my normal withdrawal bleed for a few days and nothing since. I’ve had loads of cramping like AF is about to start but nothing comes of it. I tested Thursday and it was negative but if I classed withdrawal bleed as a normal AF that would have only been cycle day 14/15

@rose2887 @MrsBrown28 I have no idea when af should actually be due after the withdrawal bleed, maybe another 2 weeks since I stopped taking the pill a week into the first pack? I'd try testing again this Thursday if I were you :)

It took me about 10 days to 2 weeks to get a bfp because I stopped pill pack half way and had the withdrawal bleed but not accurate on dates I won’t know actual conception till the first scan I guess!!!! I tested last week and not really a line... although I tested on cheap Poundland ones and they aren’t sensitive... mr frer is dark now but Poundland ones are still super faint... I done on yesterday and think I’m going to do another Poundland one to see the difference.... xx

@Rose2887 I guess it's the good old 2 week wait then... torture!! Hahaha I think you can rely on mr frer though... how exciting!! Hopefully I'll remember to come back on here and give and update after what's sure to be the longest 2 weeks eveeeeer xx

@rose2887 I done about 100 different tests when I was pregnant with my son 😆 I’m gonna leave it a week or so and then try again if no AF. It’s so strange to have such strong period pains and nothing comes of it @pinkshake let me know how you get on. It’s nice to find someone else in the same situation

Am the same I think I may of OV'd the day after my withdrawal bleed and potentially had implantation spotting but cause I don't know when period is due I can't tell if it was OV bleeding or implantation bleeding

I didn't even need to stop the pill I forgot it for a couple of days and fell pregnant x

@Moxka Welcome to the waiting game I guess! It's so hard to know when everything's gone off track. I was using an app for my pill/ period but even that hasn't got a clue what's going on now!! I never get OV bleeding so not sure about that.

@MrsBrown28 Any updates?? Still getting weird symptoms over here, just waiting one more week to test... Feels like forever!

Pinkshake nothing at all. Still bloated and cramping but no sign of AF making an appearance tested negative on Saturday. So frustrating

@pinkshake any updates? I’m still without AF and no more cramping so doesn’t seem like it’s going to make an appearance any time soon

@MrsBrown28 I'm in exactly the same situation! Tested Saturday morning and still negative... but no more cramping and no sign of af. Still have fingers crossed but worried it's just a side effect of stopping the pill - should be getting that bfp by now :(

@pinkshake. I have bought some OPK tests because now I’m panicking I’m not ovulating although I read on here someone waited 7 months after stopping the pill for AF to make an appearance

@MrsBrown28 Yeah I've been worrying the same thing, that's a good idea. I was so sure I had ovulation symptoms just after my withdrawal bleed and the first time we ttc... It seems to be normal that AF takes at least 3 months to appear, but I've been on and off the pill twice before and my period has gone straight back to normal previously so this is strange to me. I guess we just keep trying and waiting and see what happens

@MrsBrown28 More cramping this afternoon... My poor body seems confused haha

@pinkshake Me too I was almost positive I ovulated this month. I guess the only way to tell is with ovulation kits. With my other two I’m pretty sure my husband just blinked at me and I was pregnant lol I’m the worst at waiting too I hate not knowing what’s going on. I’d rather have AF than not knowing. I really thought AF was gonna come today but again nothing
