Hi ladies hope you don’t mind if I join, just after a little advice..

I’m currently 24 and trying to conceive I know I can get pregnant as I do at 18 but due to terrible circumstances and an unforseeable future it ended in termination (still upsets me to this day) so I got the coil fitted and had it for 4 years (not sure what the coil was called now but I know I still had a period each month whilst it was in place) me and my boyfriend (he’s 29 years older than me) have been trying for 2 years plus now and we know he can have children cause he’s has a 21 year old daughter.. can you ladies just give me a bit of advice as to what I can do to boost fertility eco

@Leahelaine24 welcome! ❤ i would say do what im doin atm and get to the docs for investigations. I know its tough believe me i put it off for long enough, but ur hormones couldve changed since then or ur ohs sperm could change over the yrs. After 2yrs im sure yous are very frustrated

I agree with @thisisouryrfx18 I would go to the docs and get you both tested as then you know what you're dealing with. Do you temp chart/use opks? As that will give you an idea whether you're ovulating. Is your cycle a normal length?

I got a flashing smiley today! Although last cycle I got one and then a solid smiley then never actually ovulated. If I do though this will be a good length cycle! Fx'd!
I think stress delayed it last time, and just slightly concerned as I am meant to be going up in a hot air balloon tonight (an anniversary present from DH!) very excited but also a bit nervous, I hope it doesn't delay it again!

Sorry @lilsquish -9 days still early though, maybe still a chance? I’ve worked out I’ll be ovulating right around a run of on call night shifts which is less than ideal this month! Have told dp it’ll be a bit regimented this month if we’re to stand any chance at all!!!

@lilsquish - sorry to hear that although 9dpo is still early so there is still hope!

@Veganmedic - that must be difficult with the night shifts.

I find it so difficult to keep the fertile sex romantic. DH and I had the most mechanical, boring sex we have ever had yesterday. Not good! Now going to try and initiate tonight but it's difficult when we both know that it is happening because I am in my fertile time which zaps out the magic a bit :/ - how do you guys find it?

@FlapJackered that sounds amazing but also terifying how was it?! We re the same i try and not let oh know when im fertile now that way at least one of us doesnt.know lol i had a massive blow up with oh at the wkend which isnt like us think we ve just had enough of ttc tbh @Lilsquish ur still in til af appears do u chart ur temps?

It was incredible thanks @thisisouryrfx18 ! It was such good weather for it! Was slightly nervous to start with, but it is very gentle so I was fine once up there.

Sorry to hear you had a fight with OH, was it about ttc? It is not fun this ttc malarky, it does suck the romance out a bit.

I had a temp rise this morning which looks promising, just going to keep fingers crossed it stays up there, as if I have just ovulated it would make this cycle 30 days, which would be amazing! Just trying not to get too excited as I think my body does tend to gear up to ovulation then decide against it.

@FlapJackered glad u had fun hun..yh started out as a petty argument that turned into a ragin row we ve talked about it now n we both know its the stress of ttc. OH has his SA coming up and i know hes worried sick about it feel helpless cant do anything to make him feel better! Fx ur temps stay up ❤

Well im just out of my ultra sound scan.

Positives are that my uterus and lining looks healthy.

Negatives are that my ovaries are 'quiet'

She is going to write to my gp and talked about possibly trying clomid.

Mixed feelings about the results. Kind if glad there is something wrong, but also a bit gutted too xx

@Lilsquish thanx hun..i know i almost want an answer as to what is wrong, but at the same time its scary and hard to accept if there is its a catch 22. What do they mean by quiet? hopefully they get u kick started on the clomid and get to where u need to b with a bfp x

I think she meant that they arent working as they should. ie not growing folicles at the rate expected.

A positive from yesterday tho, af started last night so my cycle was on 34 days! Woop.

@thisisouryrfx - it must be very worrying for him doing the SA.
Weirdly my DH doesn't seem worried at all! His results will be at the GPs tomorrow, if it was me I would have been ringing them everyday to see if they had arrived early, but tbh I think if I didn't tell him to call them tomorrow, I think he would just wait for his docs appointment next week to see them. He thinks they will be fine, I am just really hoping they are - he is quite a heavy drinker, cycles a lot and plays rugby so the boys have taken their fair share of kicks and knees .

@Lilsquish sorry to hear about the quiet ovaries, at least that sounds fixable though with clomid? Congratulations on the normal cycle length!
That is my main goal this cycle!

I am on CD20 and it is looking like I ovulated on CD18 which would likely make my cycle 30ish days which would be AMAZING! I have had two raised temps so just waiting for tomorrow to confirm it. FX'd.

@Lilsquish oh well least ur cycles shortened and theres a possible solution but its still tough to deal with x @FlapJackered gd that ur oh isnt stressed i thought mine would b the same but i feel really bad for him i think hes convinced himself theres something wrong..its goin to b a long mnth waiting on results! Im not convinced its him i think its me or both lol

Well OH handed in his specimen today should get the results early nxt wk they said so thats gd news quicker than we thought itd b roll on nxt wk!

We got DHs results back today and he has got 158mil sperm which is great but only 5.20% are a normal shape, which isn't great . I don't know if it doesn't matter as much because he has got a good amount of sperm, who knows?
I don't know how much of a problem it is going to be. Hopefully it will inspire him to cut down his drinking a bit though.
His GPs appointment to discuss isn't until the 20th - but I guess he will find out more then.

Soo sorry to hear that @FlapJackered but hopefully it can b changed by medication and/or lifestyle its tough tho isnt it? Im tryin to exercise and eat more healthy but when u feel stressed out u want to just go bugger it

I have sent DH off to work with a green smoothie and a pack of Brazil nuts! 😂 he is not overly impressed!

On another note natural cycles still hasn't found my ovulation day. I think it looks like I ovulated on cd18 what do you think?
I just don't know why the app hasn't found it and I don't want to get excited for a shorter cycle if I haven't?

@FlapJackered idve thought the same ovulation on day18 very odd..try downloading fertility friend and put all your temps etc in n see what it says? X
