Kick starting af?

Hi ladies,

Long story short, I’m late for af. I ovulated 2 weeks ago and af was due on Sunday but still no sign. Usually I have brown spotting a day or two before af arrives and then full af shows up morning time-ish. Sunday came and went as did today. I’ve been having lots of cm (usually dry before af) and was having it today. I had the smallest amount of very light brown spotting this afternoon but nothing since. I did take a FRER with SMU this afternoon but it was stark white so obviously I’m definitely not pregnant.

Anyway, is there any way you can kind of “kick start” af? Usually a BM starts mine off without hesitation but not this time round. I just want to get on to my next cycle, we’ve been ttc for 20 months now and it’s getting frustrating. We’ve had all tests done and everything looks fine so we are considered to have “unexplained infertility”.

With a negative FRER, I know there’s no chance I’m pregnant but I’m just not getting any signs of af arriving, no cramps, no bloating, no mood swings and no bleeding. I’m never late and always have very regular 28 day cycles. I just don’t know why it won’t just show up!

I literally could have written this myself lol I’m in the exact same boat today. I did a frer with smu and got a negative but my period isn’t here yet although I had a little bit of brown bleeding earlier. I stuck my mooncup in earlier to try and kick start it and that’s when I had the bit of brown blood so if you use one of them then maybe try that! Sorry I can’t help, hopefully someone can :)

If you are ttc I’d be careful with trying this. Maybe wait a few more days and do another test just in case of late implantation.
But high doses of vitamin c usually kick starts a late period. You’d need to take 500mg tablets and probably 2 or 3 a day. Good luck!

I know that chicory root will usually induce a menstrual bleed. It's taken as a daily dietry supplement for it's high fibre content but the bleeding is a known side effect.
