Testing at 9dpo/ 10dpo

Is testing at 9/10 dpo really too early? This is the stage i am at, tested twice...both bfns, once today once yesterday.

I remember with dd i was at least 4 days before af when i got my bfp so i am feeling pretty much out..when i had high hopes this month.

Countdown to pregnancy site says 47% bfp by 9dpo and 66% by 10dpo.

Im feeling some symptoms but duno if im over spotting. Had tiny tinge of brown discharge today when i wiped, af due in four days.

@babyhopeful2018
That’s amazing amazing news. Congratulations on your very definite big fat positives. You must be so thrilled. Look after yourself won’t you. I’m now in my tww so interested to know when you actually tested. Congrats again. Wine I’ll have a glass for both of you now. X

babyhopeful2018 · 09/06/2018 17:31

My AF is due tomorrow but tested with an IC first on Thursday and got a faint line!

Strange thing I've not had any 'symptoms' except needing to wee more often and generally a bit tired but only noticed these from today!!

I'm over the moon. Can't wait until DH comes home to show him tonight 💕💕!!

Thanks again @Lookingforadvice15 and @Glera

I thought the TWW was hard dunno how the next 9 or so will be keeping it to ourselves 🤫 xxx

Glera · 10/06/2018 21:17

@babyhopeful2018 you’ll be great at the next 9 months. Think about how much patience you’ve had so far and you’ll have trusted friends and family I’m sure.

I’ve had an absolute wine binge day for you both... @babyhopefull2018 / lookingforadvice15 ; a very close friend of mine gave birth today and they had tried for 3 months before a bfp so our 6 months feels so inadequate.

MrsSnootyPants2018 · 10/06/2018 22:01

Evening I'm now 11dpo and got a bfn this morning :-(

But the last two days I've had:

  • cramps/ lower discomfort.
  • really tired after a lot of sleep
  • small nausea
  • constantly hungry.

Normally for af I have some cramps day before but normally once started.

Not sure if I should just count myself out now or not?

babyhopeful2018 · 11/06/2018 06:22

@MrsSnootyPants2018 welcome

Never count yourself out until AF arrives! ☺️

Also tbh I've have absolutely no symptoms at all this cycle and got my BFP!! TTC makes us crazy symptom stop.

I know it's easier said than done but just try to relax and wait and see - if AF doesn't arrive in next few days test again, there might just not be enough LH surge at the moment but it seemingly increases every day if you are pregnant xx

babyhopeful2018 · 11/06/2018 06:26

Aww thanks @Glera!!

DH and I were out for dinner last night and all I wanted to do was order a nice big glass of wine to celebrate but opted for fresh orange and lemonade instead!! Lol

@Lookingforadvice15 have you visited your doctor/midwife yet?! Obv as this is first child I'm not really sure when to go - do you wait until nearer 12 weeks or do you contact them now?!xx

Lookingforadvice15 · 11/06/2018 06:56

Hey @babyhopeful2018

I dont know where you are based but i went to my docs and you just let them know you are pregnant and need a midwife form. You fill that out and hand it to reception the the midwife will be in contact via either post or phone to arrange your appointments. You usually have an appointment about 8 weeks which lasts 30mins. Then your 10 week 'booking in' appt which is the big one, lasts an hour, they ask u all sorts.
I am on holiday next week so i am having both my appts together the following week at 10 weeks xx

@Glera Hi! How are you doing/feeling?

@babyhopeful2018 big congratulations to you!!!

Unfortunately, AF arrived for me a day early but was very light & weird. My temperature dropped through so I do think it was AF. Hoping my cycles are now settled & will stand be in better stead for this month, though the extension has been horrendous. We are in the middle of trying to find tradesmen to replace the builders and even DH has now reached the end of this tether so I doubt this month will be the one. Nevertheless I will continue temping and whatever happens, happens.

Good luck to all the new members on the thread and here's hoping you have a better & luckier month than me!

Glera · 11/06/2018 20:50

@lp17 hey, sorry to hear about your AF arriving. Just think that when your extension isn’t completed, you’ll have a perfect home for a baby.

I’m on 2dpo at the moment so way too early for me to even think about testing. We’ve done all we can do now so I guess it’s just the wait now. It took about 4 months for my cycles to settle after coming off the pill and this was our 6th month TTC.

@lookingforadvice15 how are you feeling? Are you around 6/7 weeks now?

Magic baby dust to you all.

Glera · 11/06/2018 20:53

@lp17 massive typo. I meant to say when your extension is completed...

LP17 · 13/06/2018 16:39

@glera haha it's ok - i currently feel like it will never be completed so that sounded fine in my head. I think we are taking a break from TTC this month as we just have too much on. Neither of us are in the right headspace for it but I could cry when I think about another month with nothing. I'm trying to tell myself it's ok to take a break and it'll be good for us but I can't reconcile myself with it...

Glera · 13/06/2018 17:57

@lp17 you never know, taking a break from it may end up working in your favour. And if not, enjoy a month of all the bad things: wine, wine, gin and maybe some wine. Our house sale is currently going through and I think I may want to throttle the solicitors soon so god knows how you’re feeling about a whole building job. How far along are you with it?

I’m definitely making the most of all the bad things I should have right now. It’s my birthday two days after AF is due so I either get a really really great birthday present or if not, I’ll eat an incredibly rare steak and drink wine. Equally, we have a really posh meal booked in August. If I’m pregnant, amazing but if not, I’ve got food and wine pairings to look forward to. I know it’s not the best silver lining but hey, it’s a silver lining at the end of the day.

Keep those positive thoughts! I’m here if you need to chat.

LP17 · 14/06/2018 08:56

@glera You're right - I have a few hen dos & weddings coming up so it's always nice to have a drink then. I'm still temping because I want to get as clear a picture as possible as what my body is doing but without OPKs and stuff it's not too unbearable.

I truly believe there is nothing as frustrating as buying/selling/moving/extending houses. Where are you up to with it? We had a nightmare with ours which was this time last year and now the nightmare continues with the stupid building work. The whole thing was meant to be finished last week, the builder said next week, 'at a push'. Except they haven't even finished the roof let alone knocking through, fitting the windows, starting the internal work (they don't seem to understand that some things can be done in parallel), doing the external render etc etc. DH is giving them a written warning this week as per our contract but a few things have happened over the last couple of days that have meant neither of us are feeling up to sending it until next week probably. In that time we are getting new tradesmen lined up to take over the work so hopefully things will pick up again soon but at the moment I feel so drained it's almost impossible to see a light at the end of the tunnel.

@babyhopeful2018 did you get a drs appointment sorted? how are you feeling?? I'm hoping this is turning into a lucky thread for us all! x

babyhopeful2018 · 14/06/2018 12:56

Hey @LP17

I'm feeling great thanks!! A little tired and bloated but that's all!! I had a few IC lying about and there is no mistaking that very strong line (it's actually darker than the control line and came up near enough straight away)

Got my dr appointment this afternoon so maybe I'll manage to find out more then ☺️☺️

I've got everything crossed for you and @Glera and I'm sure it'll be your turn to post your BFP soon 🤞🏻.

DH decided to stop actually trying last month and just take things as it comes so we were both more relaxed (although I did drink grapefruit juice, temp and eat pineapple core just to see) and our BFP arrived 3 weeks later xx

Glera · 17/06/2018 14:49

@lp17 @babyhopeful2018 @lookingforadvice15

Happy Father’s Day to the daddies to be!
How are you ladies-with-child feeling?

How are you feeling @lp17?

I think I’m around 7/8dpo now, not 100% sure. Not really got any symptoms either way which doesn’t help so much. Wish the next week would hurry up, 34 day cycles suck so much - it’s sooo long!

Glera · 17/06/2018 14:50

@mrssnootypants2018

How did you get on lovely? Was it a bfp month or are you back on the TTC wagon?

MrsSnootyPants2018 · 17/06/2018 14:58

Had faint bfp at 13dpo then definite bfp on first response x2 and three digitals.

Glera · 17/06/2018 17:33

@mrssnootypants2018
That’s wonderful news. Big congratulations to you! Hope you’re resting up and soaking in all the excitement.

LP17 · 18/06/2018 13:06

@babyhopeful2018 that's great! how was your appointment??

@mrssnootypants2018 fantastic! how are you feeling???

@glera - neverending doom & gloom it feels like!!! Unfortunately, we had more bad luck last week in the family, with work & there is something wrong with DH.....he's been referred to a consultant so I'm fretting. That said, we ended up DTD on Saturday which was the day before predicted ovulation. So will probably end up having to take a test this month as AF is due the day I go on a hen......so much for not trying! 34 days seems like an eternity to me but if you have a long luteal phase it's more time for a little sticky bean to make itself at home :) I almost feel like having no symptoms is good because it makes it easier to tell if something is different??? I've realised I feel really shitty after I've ovulated - headaches, spots, backache etc etc which I initially mistook for signs of pregnancy!

babyhopeful2018 · 19/06/2018 07:00

Morning @LP17

Went to my dr appointment last Thursday to be told they don't do anything with pregnancy and I had to contact midwife directly!! (My first baby I didn't know 🤷🏻‍♀️) so phoned them straight away and have that appointment 02/07

So it's just a waiting game until then xxx

Glera · 20/06/2018 21:37

@babyhopeful2018
I would’ve gone to the doctors first as opposed to a midwife don’t worry.

I’m 11dpo but still not tested. Slightly nervous AF is on her way as had light brown CM, been exhausted and incredibly moody - like incredibly moody.

AF not due until Sunday and as we all know, it’s not over until the witch arrives. Intuition speaks for a lot though I think.

Thinking of those of you with bfps and those of us with bfns.
