DTD timing

Hi all,

Probably a silly question, but just wanted to check. Having DTD for the 4 days before ovulation, and the day of ovulation, how important is it to DTD the day after? Does anyone have good statistics links to share? Poor DP wont get home until late tonight (Ov day), and it's been a very tiring week for both of us all round.

Thanks in advance :)

Hey OP! Good luck with it all. As far as I understand it, the best time is before ovulation as it's best to have the swimmers ready and waiting. I think afterwards could already be too late in the cycle. Might be wrong though!

If you’re sure of Ov dates, I’d say before is better! The past two times I have fallen pregnant we had sex for three days in a row (day of ov and the two days before)

I'm absolutely sure - positive opks usually CD 12&13, and then ovulation pain usually on CD14 (earlier today - very sharp this month). I'm hoping dtd later when he's home will be enough to hit the dates?

I think the usual advice is that the best days are the day of your surge (positive opk) and day after (ovulation), after that the fertile window is over. If you’ve done those two plus two more before that then you have done plenty so might be better to have a rest and not put yourselves under too much pressure!

Clear blue have some graphs on their website showing the relative chances each day.

Thanks for the pointer - it says 0% the day after, which is really good to know - DP can have a rest at last!
