When am I entitled to mat leave?

I had my ds in April last year and we want to have our second before too long to keep the age gap small. However, I was an agency worker for my company for 2 years but next month I'm being taken on as perminant staff so I'm not sure when I'll be entitled to mat leave. I know you're meant to have worked for your employer for 3 months continuously before conceiving and my official start date as in-house staff is next week so do I need to wait 3 months from then? I finished my last mat leave in January. Thanks!

Their is no minimum time to qualify for maternity leave. You need to have worked for 26 weeks by the time you are 25 weeks pregnant. Where did you get 3 months from?

That second bit referred to maternity pay btw

Depends on your employers policy

Ah, I realise now that I was confused when I read that you needed to be 26 weeks pregnant by 15 weeks before due date and thought it meant 15 weeks pregnant! That's good to know, thanks!! Takes the time pressure off somewhat!
