Me again! Sad
Last period started on the 4th of March and ovulation was highest between 15th and 18th March. Me and partner dtd on the 16th and 18th (no contraception) been doing a few tests here and there and one had a faint line and then last week I got a quite definite pink line. I assumed this was positive but I took one again this morning (8 days past expected AF, 2nd urination, boots own brand) and it looks negative. AF is now 8 days late, I've got very bad lower back pain, vivid dreams, sensitive nipples and full feeling in breasts with prominent purple veins and just the general feeling of being pregnant. Has anything similar happened to anyone on here? I really don't want to give up hope as want this more than anything!Sad any help/ advice would be greatly appreciated! X

I’m afraid that going from a positive to a negative is generally not a good sign. Your hormones ramp up enormously very quickly and the positive kind should get stronger. Not weaker. I’m sorry

I haven't had anything similar however I have always been told that you can have a false negative but never a false positive. I would try another test (my dh didn't trust the cheap boots ones so made me use a clear blue ) good luck

Were they the same brand, the positive and negative? Maybe not showing up as strong on one type? Although with AF being 8 days late surely all brands should be picking that up now.

Maybe POAS again as same brand as before?

If still negative then book yourself to see your GP to get a blood test done?

Thanks everyone! @TwittleBee it was the same brand (boots) but the positive happened early evening last week and this test was morning, maybe this has something to do with it? Just strange as AF is NEVER late for me! I've got a docs appointment booked for this Friday as that's the earliest one. Thanks

Always best to take in the morning. Most accurate

Kate123cl · 09/04/2018 13:03

Thanks @Highhorse1981

Same thing happened to me and sadly was a chemical. Period still arrived 2 weeks after negative test! Really hope this isn’t the same for you xx

RedWineAllMine · 09/04/2018 13:29

Thinking of you OP I like others have been unfortunate to experience a chemical pregnancy. You get your AF a short while after a positive test, if it is chemical. It's so demoralising that I can't even get excited over a positive now.

Kate123cl · 09/04/2018 13:46

@RLOU88 @RedWineAllMine

Thank you both. Its horrible isn't it, it's so hard not to get excited after BFP! Let this be my lesson to always be a bit more vigilantSadxx
