Any advice on conceiving a baby?

Me and my hubby have decided that in a month or two we will begin trying for our first baby. I just thought I'd come on here and see if anyone has any tips?

Is there anything I should be doing to prepare? I'm already off contraception and I've heard that taking folic acid tablets is good? Tia Smile

Hi and welcome!

In terms of advice, I'd definitely say folic acid (though my hubby and I are taking the Pregnacare his and hers vitamins). Other stuff you can do, which I guess is probably fairly obvious is cut down on caffeine and alcohol, quit smoking (if either of you do?) and just generally have a healthy lifestyle in terms of diet, sleep and exercise.

My hubby and I have been TTC our first since November 2017 (I certainly off contraception last August/September) so just be aware that it can still take a while to get pregnant, so don't be disheartened if it doesn't happen straight away 🙂

Lots of luck and baby dust x

Hi!
Agree with everything in the above post, I have a DS who is nearly 4 who was honestly a complete accident, but also a DD born in December who we were trying for 6 months for. We did all of the above as well as keeping track of my periods to see when I would be at my most fertile.
Wishing you both lots of luck! Xx
