TTC after Mirena coil

Hi! I’m looking for advice from ladies in the know! We are trying to conceive DC3. I had my Mirena coil removed on 29 March. I didn’t have periods while it was in (approx 2yrs) so don’t know exactly why I am in my cycle. The Nurse said we didn’t need to wait for a period before TTC so we haven’t been using protection since. For the past few days, I’ve been getting the kind of nausea and sensitivity to smells I got in the early days of pregnancy with my 2DC. Do you think it’s my body adjusting to the hormones? I couldn’t be pregnant already, could I?

*where I am in my cycle (not why I am in my cycle!)

Yes you can get pregnant before having a period (which may or may not come in a regular fashion after stopping any form of hormonal birth control). However, your body is used to having hormones from mirena that are no longer there. This 'withdrawal' will cause your body to start producing its own hormones in a regular cycle (which may or may not take some time). While going through this period of 'withdrawal' your own hormone levels will be changing which will cause 'symptoms'.

The only way to know if you're pregnant or not is to take a test. However, it is totally normal to get all sorts of weird 'symptoms' whenever coming off bc.

Thanks! Withdrawal symptoms makes sense. Might take a test anyway, although am worried it’d be too early for that anyway...

Hi
I had my mirenia in for 3yrs and no periods while i had it. I removed it the 11th jan. I had no bleeding until 3 weeks later and that was just spotting for a couple of days, however i did ovulate 2 weeks after that. So maybe was a period.
The first 2 weeks ish after removal, i felt super pregnant! I read alot about the mirenia crash. Its the hormones regulating. I had so many strong symptoms. But they did fade out about 10-14 days.
I have read alot of people conceive very close to removal, so always possible.
Just keep poas every now and then. X
