Petrified I'm pregnant

Sorry I know this is the conception board so hope o don't offend anyone but today I'll do a pregnancy test. If it's positive, it will be horrendous.

I'm not on hormonal contraception because I can't take it. I use Natural cycles so I do my bbt each day. We dtd on day 11, he pulled out and finished ahem elsewhere half an hour later.

We've already got two dds who were both conceived on the pill.

Today is cd25 and my chart is still high. Usually my cycle is 23-25 days.

I feel sick to my stomach, dh is away. If it's positive it would be just awful.

Flowers what time will you test?

user2929 · 07/04/2018 06:34

As soon as shops open I'll buy a test. So around 9

Will you try to hold FMU until then? I hope you get the result you want. I'll be thinking of you.

Papplewapplewoo · 07/04/2018 08:20

❤️
I hope you’re ok

user2929 · 07/04/2018 08:22

I couldn't hold the fmu. I did a wee at 6.30 so if I continue to hold for another hour or so will that be sufficient?

Would your OH consider the snip? Or you your tubes tied?

JustVent · 07/04/2018 09:00

If he pulled out you should be ok.

Unless on all the days before that, he didn’t?

user2929 · 07/04/2018 09:04

Just vent that was the one time we dtd this month. Just waiting outside pharmacy to open.

Hoping you got a result that you're ok with. If not don't panic. An early abortion is easy. It's just a pill, more pills, pain and bleeding.

Nixen · 07/04/2018 09:08

Hope it turns out how you want OP!

PotteringAlong · 07/04/2018 09:09

If a pregnancy would be that horrific you need to use another method of contraception.

newmama2018 · 07/04/2018 09:12

I'm really sorry but if the thought of having a baby is that horrific you need to use a proper method of contraception! To use the method you are means that some part of you is willing to take the risk and have a baby. If you're pregnant you should consider yourself incredibly lucky and fortunate because it's damn near impossible for some people to be blessed like that.

BigRedBoat · 07/04/2018 09:18

Have you thought about a copper coil? Or the snip for your dh?

Alwayscommuting · 07/04/2018 09:21

You can sort this if you are pregnant. An early abortion is an option. However more long term you need to look at different contraception methods. Pulling out is not an effective way to prevent pregnancy. There have been studies that show even before orgasm men can produce fluid containing sperm.

user2929 · 07/04/2018 09:35

As in my op. I never meant to cause offence to people. I know I'm exceedingly lucky to have conceived twice so easily and I don't ever take that for granted.

I have just taken a first response and it's clearly negative. Thankfully. However, it doesn't explain my lack of period or continuous high bbt chart.

As it happens, I was at my GP just last week to discuss contraception and I have a complicated history:
I can't take anything with oestrogen
Mirena I've had but bled excessively and had to be removed
I'm allergic to copper
He was happy for me to continue chatting my cycle and use condoms (yes this cycle we didn't).

I'm glad you got the result you wanted! Would your DH consider having the snip? It's not really fair to put the entire weight of contraception on you, especially as it's clearly not easy for you with those complications.

My DH has had the snip and it's bloody brilliant!

user2929 · 07/04/2018 09:43

Definitely going to have up the anti with getting him to have the snip. He reckons he's "too young for it" - he'll be 38 this year. But i can't have this again. Bugger me. I've sweated off the Easter eggs Grin

OP I have the same difficulties as you with regards to contraception.

I’m currently using a diaphragm that I got from amazon. So far so good. But the protection isn’t as great as most methods.
The alternative is the snip, I’ve given up asking my DH to get it done.

He would hate it if I got pregnant. I wouldn’t.

user2929 · 07/04/2018 09:55

Only option is cerazette but the way I reacted to progesterone only in the mirena - months of excessive bleeding - has put me off.

Abstinence.

OP posts:
Mrsramsayscat · 07/04/2018 09:55

Jistvent, I used diaphragms for years. They need to be properly fitted as the space at the top of each woman's vagina is both a different shape and a different size.

JustVent · 07/04/2018 10:01

MrsArmay, not with the one I posted you dont.
That’s the beauty of it.

newmama2018 · 07/04/2018 10:08

@user2929 I do t know how it effects other people but Cerazzette (sp) made me into a hormonal psychopath and I hated it 😆

Stephisaur · 07/04/2018 10:31

I was fine on cerazette but not the implant, even though they’re both progesterone only! Bodies are strange things! Glad you got the result you wanted. Definitely explain to him why it would be great if he got the snip (38 is hardly too young if you’re both on the same page about more kids) and then you can both breathe easy xx

user2929 · 08/04/2018 08:44

Big 0.5 degree drop on my bbt this morning so af seems imminent. We're going away in June and July so don't want irregular bleeding whilst on holiday, but when we're back I'll try cerazette
