Im so fed up with the bloody things. Just tested because i wanted to get the inevitable bfn out of the way so i dont get upset when af turns up. Theyre fuckers for evap lines which give you bloody false hope

I bought cheap ones that look exactly like these, went to buy a second pack as I'd accidentally poured cleaning chemicals o the ones I had and the reviews on the ones I bought before said about this exact problem

Mizzworthy1 · 05/04/2018 16:05

Its so depressing. After months of trying im wanting to get rid of that stupid bit of hope even though im having cramps because last month i got so upset when i started af. These are just not worth the psychological pain.

I’ve had cramps for 3 weeks and no af and these tests are constantly saying negative... looked on amazon and reviews say that aren’t sensitive at all.... so I guess best to buy one from a better source! Xxx

olderthanyouthink · 05/04/2018 16:46

I bought ICs from Amazon pretty much as a joke but ended up needing them. I took 3 when I was 3w+3 (going by LMP) and got this

@olderthanyouthink
So you were pregnant and they were right???

olderthanyouthink · 05/04/2018 17:16

@Rose2887 yep, I'm 7w+3 now

I'm not sure but I thing I have/had really high levels bc I took a FRER the following evening and had a strong positive

I used them and never had any false positives or issues. I only test if AF is late though, don't want to give myself the uncertainty of testing before. They've been right both pregnancies.

boatrace30 · 05/04/2018 20:11

I have to say I have used close to 100 of these and never had a false positive! I used ridiculous amounts due to irregular cycles (so not knowing when AF was late) and 18months in total of TTC (resulting in 2 DC). I wonder if some batches are just a bit dodgy?

fleetingthinker · 05/04/2018 20:20

I've never had a false positive either and used these for four pregnancies.

These gave a positive about 4-5 days earlier than the first response for me.

If the line is appearing within a few minutes I would say it's a positive!

Marmite27 · 05/04/2018 20:24

I used them and never had an issue.

I did wait until my period was due to test though. They were more sensitive than the expensive tests and much cheaper.

FairfaxAikman · 05/04/2018 20:24

I used one of those and am now 38 weeks. I did follow it up with a digital to confirm though.

Kitty610 · 05/04/2018 20:27

I used one of these and my line was sooo light that when I look at my pics of it now I can’t believe I saw it! But it was a clear line on the FRER. So I’d say get a FRER for a definite answer.

Mumof3cheeky · 05/04/2018 20:51

What makes you think they are not right OP? I have never had a false positive on them and used for several pregnancies. The only frustrating thing they are not very good indicator as to how far you are as the darkness of the line isn’t always consistent. Good luck x

MrsDx · 06/04/2018 04:14

I’m confused...are you annoyed because there’s a faint line but think it’s wrong? Have you had a faint line before that’s been wrong? In my experience they’re actually pretty accurate....

Rose2887 · 06/04/2018 15:27

@Mizzworthy1 have you restested today? X

Rose2887 · 06/04/2018 15:27

Retested I meant Grin

Waitingonasmiley42 · 06/04/2018 19:28

These have never given me a false positive and picked up my pregnancies just before 4 weeks, so very very early.

I would always recommend them over other tests.

SoyDora · 06/04/2018 19:31

I used these with both pregnancies with no issues. They were negative when I wasn’t pregnant and positive (albeit faint) when I was. I followed up with a clear blue just to make sure!

Mizzworthy1 · 06/04/2018 22:00

Hi Rose2887... I didnt as af arrived today. This is the second time I've had really feint lines only to come on my period soon after... I feel like they give me a lot of evap lines. Its heartbreaking every time.

Mumof3cheeky · 07/04/2018 06:21

I’m sorry to hear that Mizz but maybe these are chemical pregnancies rather than evap lines
Good luck for next time x

MaverickSnoopy · 07/04/2018 07:56

I've used then in my last 2 pregnancies and never had a problem. No evaps ever, just faint positive in early pregnancy increasing as pregnancy progresses.

ShortandStout1 · 07/04/2018 11:14

@rose2887 I've also had faint evap lines like in the picture shortly before AF maybe its only certain batches that have these issues

GG133 · 02/02/2020 12:16

Hi all, I know this is an old thread now, but I came across it when I was searching to see if anyone else had had this experience of False positive using the internet cheapies.

We have been ttc for over 3 years now (I have very irregular cycles), and just yesterday we got (what we thought) was our very first, albeit faint, bfp! (Using internet cheapies... I was out a fortune on the others) Now, we have never even had a faint line before so we thought, at last, this could be it! The second line showed up right away. Although I was trying not to get too excited, I hoped for the best. Tested again later in the day, bfn, then again this morning, bfn. It feels so cruel, to have that glimmer of hope after 3 years, and for it to be false.

So I guess what I’m saying is... internet cheapies absolutely do give false positive results... I’m guessing there was maybe a dye run or just a faulty one. I’m sure this is rare, but it does happen. 🙈
