2dpo & staring down another abyss of symptom analysing, early test resisting, date calculating, FW debriefing crazy brain.

Anyone care to ride it out together? Welcome spotters and distractors alike x

Early testing mainly. Saying my age gap ideal is rubbish and any age gap is fine. Telling me im in a destructive cycle...?!! Surely I'm allowed to have my own ideas about age gaps!

ClaryFray · 11/04/2018 08:28

Today is period due day, after 3 bfn yesterday. I couldn't bring myself to test this morning. Although DP went and got me another 3 years from Asda last night. I don't know f it's good or bad he's supporting my crazy.

Currently sat in the drs waiting for an appointment to be referred. Because I think that it's an issue from having my coil in. It's been out six months and nothing. Not once caught. When before I only had to look at a cock!!!

ClaryFray · 11/04/2018 08:28

How's everyone else doing?

TwittleBee · 11/04/2018 08:45

On the topic of rudeness, I have found if you post anything in the AIBU section then you really do expose yourself to it lol!

MaGratgarlik1983 yeah as much as I think any age gap has its own pros and cons it is surely up to the individual on what they would like and what they think would suit them?

ClaryFray just to point out to you about the ASDA FRERs.... (as another poster did for me) they appear to only sell the "Rapid Response" rather than the "Early Response" which are completely different things, so just check them before you open them? Hoping your ASDA is different. Unfortunately coming off any contraception can take ages for your body to get back to normal. Was it the hormonal coil or the copper? I think if it was the hormonal your body might not be back to ovulating properly? Have you been tracking ovulation? Really hope its an easy fix for you and you get a BFP soon lovely!

I'm doing okay, thank you for asking Clary, 4dpo here and so so tired and cramps/back ache are terrible today.

ClaryFray · 11/04/2018 09:45

I have no idea what one the tests are. And I keep meaning to buy OPK but it's minefield of which ones and then are the cheap ones any good!! Argh. I may have to bite the bullet and try them this month if I get no joy. I've had a headache for about a week too was hoping it was a symptom.

Sending baby dust your way.

starwishing · 11/04/2018 09:52

@ClaryFray I have a clear blue advanced fertility monitor and it takes all the guess work out of opk so it's super easy. There's no "is it positive? Is it darker?" Worries about them the monitor does it for you.

ClaryFray · 11/04/2018 09:54

@starwishing

I'll check that out thank you.

TwittleBee · 11/04/2018 09:55

ClaryFray a cheaper option over OPKs would be to download an app like Fertility Friend and buy a digital thermometer to track your BBT. Here is a link to a bit about tracking BBT on Fertility Friend: www.fertilityfriend.com/Presentations/ChartingBasics/

starwishing · 11/04/2018 10:04

@TwittleBee I found bbt very unreliable as you have to do it at the same time every day and before you get out of bed. I get woken up between 3am and 7am and never sleep more than a few hours due to various people and things waking me. Also it altered by HOW you sleep such as bedcovers, clothes, if you DTD, if the heating is in/window open. If you get a cold or poorly it throws it off completely and alters the app predictions. When pg with my son my temp would alter constantly between 35.7 and 38.2 the week I was in hospital.

flyingplum · 11/04/2018 10:21

I'm out. AF doing her thing. Working from home with my joggers on...boooo!

TwittleBee · 11/04/2018 10:22

Yeah that is true, you do need to have a least 3 hours consecutive sleep and measure temp at the same time (half hour window either side) before getting out of bed. Doesn't have to be every day, last cycle I missed a day here and there - more about seeing the pattern. I guess it depends what is or isn't possible for you though. I don't take much care in what I sleep in or how I sleep though - I do monitor if I am feeling run down though as I noticed on a previous cycle my temps were high from having a cold. Just found BBT charting a lot easier and cheaper than POAS twice a day as I have PCOS so ovulation is pretty unpredictable for me

(attached my chart - v v stable this month but first time its been like that, also first time DS hasn't been nigh waking)

TwittleBee · 11/04/2018 10:22

flyingplum oh no! sorry to read AF showed up Sad Hope you have a good relaxing day working from home and FX and lots of baby dust to you for next cycle

flyingplum · 11/04/2018 10:37

Thanks @TwittleBee - on the plus side, my boobs have finally gone down a bit and have stopped being so achy. Silver linings 😂

ClaryFray · 11/04/2018 10:42

@TwittleBee

I'll do that. I'm currently using Ovia. But it hasn't helped much.

TwittleBee · 11/04/2018 10:49

ClaryFray I haven't seen any complimentary things about Ovia yet it has to be said! Good luck with it, any questions about BBT just ask on here or make a new thread - found theres a lot of MNers who are clued up with it! And don't be put off by rocky temperatures, its the overall pattern you need to look out for (a clear shift of temp shows ovulation) anyway that previous link goes into good detail about it. Good Luck!

starwishing · 11/04/2018 11:00

Glow is a good app for ttc and fertility friend is good too

TwittleBee · 11/04/2018 11:12

Yeah or Flo, I like the look of Flo a lot more than Fertility Friend

EnglishIrishRose · 11/04/2018 11:27

Hello! I can't wait any longer to join a thread lol. I got my peak on OPK today, have been DTD (through AI though as I'm in a same sex couple) Monday and today, tomorrow morning too for good measure. This is our first time TTC and I'm trying not to get too obssessed! TWW starts on Friday. And I'm sitting here going crazy about maybe having twins, cos my father was a twin. I always think too far ahead ;)

PassTheAfterEights · 11/04/2018 12:22

Oh no @flyingplum sorry to read, glad the boobs are more comfortable though. FX for the next one.

@MaGratgarlik1983 so odd. How are you today? Sorry you had some robust replies on your other thread - I think most on the conception forum are generally trying to encourage all the positive vibes around TTC but over time nerves shred a bit and it starts to come out like an order to relax or think differently than you do. Hang in there x I had a bad experience in the early days on another forum but now I know to only read AIBU for fun and avoid feminism altogether!!! Some of the MN forums just attract verrrry polarised views.

Ahhhh @peachesarenom fascinating, so glad you posted - basically the exact same boat. Did you test again today?? Also had the tugging feeling and the vivid and mostly disturbing dreams and my lower back was demonically achey before BFP, but no action at all in the boobies. Since then have had two cycles with back ache, mega mega heavy and sore boobs, no dreams and two BFNs. This month have a heavy feeling down there but no dreams and no boobs - at 8dpo feel this could go either way, basically. BFN on a cheapie this morning but not reading into it, yet.

Hi @EnglishIrishRose and good luck to you!

Another upvote for Glow here, although avoid the 'community' like the plague, TRIPLE cringe.

Just downloaded Glo (cant have enough fertility apps, right?) But how do you change the luteal phase length? I know mine is only 12 days and its showing up as 14

EnglishIrishRose how exciting! good luck

TwittleBee · 11/04/2018 12:33

*Glow (too used to writing Flo haha)

peachesarenom · 11/04/2018 12:35

We are defo in the same boat PassTheAfterEights!!! I did POAS this morning. No one can see a line but I'm sure I see a shadowy line! I have defo gone crazy!

Oooooooh @peachesarenom PHOTOS!

I can see a line on the window pic but might discount it cos I can always see the damn indent against a bright light? The second pic though - i think there's a vvvvvvvvvvfl in the right place as well - omg I can't stand it. Don't let me get your hopes up but keeping everything crossed, if Monday was first opportunity assume you were due AF 14/04? Do you have more FRERs for tomorrow??

@Twittlebee, I think when I set it up I plugged in my period data from as many cycles back as I could remember and it adjusted my dates and phases accordingly - it gets smarter the more you use it, so if you can give it two or three recent cycles' data it'll adjust your luteal phase based on that prediction. Can't remember very well but think that's how Glow works.

TwittleBee · 11/04/2018 12:50

PassTheAfterEights I entered 2 cycles and it still didn't change, I'll just delete it and stick to the other 2! I don't need another app to get obsessed with

purpleRH · 11/04/2018 13:12

Peachesarenom I see a line!
Anybody- How do I tag / put poster names in bold text like you all do?!Grin
