Premenstrual bleeding

I've kept away from the fertility threads for over a year because I just couldn't take it any more. First cycle of active ttc for over a year and it's started again. I feel disgusting, inadequate overwhelmed and in despair. My doctor STILL won't refer me to a fertility clinic because of my weight and although I've lost some weight it's not enough.

We've been trying for a number of years now, first just seeing how it goes, then tried to use opk's which was a complete disaster, and always using the Ovia app. It became apparent that I was constantly bleeding/spotting before my period actually started but was worse when we had sex during the 6 days of green fertile strip on Ovia. I would try to track ov using ewcm Ovia etc and when I was sure I'd ov'd if we had had sex I would start to bleed with clots a few days later. Ended up at a & e a few times with suspected ectopic because the pain was so bad and dr told me I may have had a very early miscarriage. Happened around 5 times before we stopped for a year, we hardly had sex the whole year because I was so traumatised.

Continued with irregular periods and spotting sometimes for up to a week before AF actually came.

Anyway, fast forward to this cycle. I used CB digital opk this cycle, dtd before and after my LH surge (so much easier to use so at least that's something). 2 days later and my uterus has been aching, also a burning pain down there, and I'm frickin bleeding again! 2 weeks before I'm due on. It's clotty and brown and disgusting. My legs feel numb and I feel beyond shit. Help? Anyone had any experience of this with a positive outcome?

Gosh @Upthetree100 it sounds like you are having an awful time but also being very hard on yourself. I have dark brown clotty bleeding between ov and period every month and have recently been diagnosed with polycystic ovaries and suspected endometriosis. Have you had any scans to look for those sort of conditions? Sounds your bleeding would be too early for an early miscarriage if only a few days after ov? Sorry your gp isn't more supportive - is there another you could see? It really sounds like you need to be referred to a gynae.

You are placing a lot of blame on yourself which just isn't the case. I know you said you are overweight, but I'm not, and still have this issue so there's a lot more to it than that. All sorts of hormonal glitches can happen in the healthiest of bodies. Sorry you are feeling so rubbish but do be kind to yourself xx

Thanks for replying. Ok so I've calmed down a little bit since this morning.

It's annoying because the Dr is awful, and I have no medical knowledge but I feel like something is happening in terms of conception but then my lining is being shed way earlier than it should. But this is just guess work at this point. Blood and scan tests are coming back perfectly normal. So I started to think I wasn't ovulating. But I most likely did ov this month I'm 99% sure, EWCM was there and the CB digital dual hormone gave me a static smiley as well as a cheapie opk. We dtd at the correct time and lo and behold, the same thing that last happened to me in 2016 before we decided to stop trying happened again. Sorry tmi but I'm bleeding like a period it is no longer spotting and the clots are there too.
I'd still love to hear from anyone else who has experience of anything similar. Hoping it's a hormone imbalance that can be fixed easily and quickly.
The Dr is closed today so I can't ring round to change surgery which I will do first thing Tuesday.

Sadly, ovulation can only be confirmed via blood test. EWCM and a positive OPK only suggest that your body is gearing up to ovulate, not that it has or will. Have you had any bloods done at all? Could you change GP or pay privately? The clots, regardless of TTC, are not normal and should be investigated!
