Dilemma - driving myself crazy

Hi I'm new on here but just wanted some advice as I'm driving myself crazy. I've been ttc for a year and had one mc. I've started using an app but my bbt and ovulation tests this month were all negative but I'm a week late. Is it worth doing a test just to put my mind at rest? Any advice would be awesome

Hi Smile I would definitely do a test if I was a week late! I also had negative ovulation tests for ages (always used to test around 5pm) and then discovered I was just testing at the wrong time as my positives have always been later at night! So maybe you've just missed the testing window this month and still ovulated?!
Wishing you the best of luck

Hi OP. I tracked with my eldest DD who took nearly a year to conceive. I NEVER EVEN ONCE had the proper temperature reading or managed to get an ovulation stick to work. Was convinced I wasn’t ovulating but similar to what you describe, once my period was 5 days late I thought I needed to double check. And yes, I had miraculously gotten pregnant despite never having had a positive ovulation test!

DD2 came along very quickly afterwards and not entirely planned so didn’t really have time to get back in the game with the sticks and thermometers for her. Anecdotally since I’ve heard lots of stories from friends saying that they never had a positive ovulation test either.... but they all had babies!

Use a FRER, in my experience they’re very clear immediately when you are pregnant.

Do you know if you definitely ovulate? It is possible, even if you usually do ovulate regularly, to just not ovulate one month which would delay/prevent a period. That would make sense if you’d been getting negatives on your opks

Thanks everyone. I tested this morning and unfortunately it's a negative but at least I can stop thinking about it every second and just focus on next month now
