I came off the pill back end of December. had first af 47 days after (February 11th.) I'm now on cd46. thought I had 2 slight bfps at the weekend but completely negative today so haven't much hope. I haven't a clue when I ovulated as been ignoring OPKs this cycle but the length is really getting to me already.

anyone else have long cycles? I was wondering when I'd ovulate and if it's worth a trip to the doctors? I said I wouldn't get caught up in ttc and I'd relax but I just can't seem to!

Long cycles tend to mean you aren’t ovulating regularly. Try take ovulation tests for a cycle to see if you are ovulating or not.

I have quite a long cycle, 40 days so not as long as you. I ovulated 8 days ago (cd 23) so (hopefully not but) period due 8th April (ish). If you're concerned, maybe track ovulation for a month or two to check where you're at? Xx

I have long cycles too- usually about 36-39 days. Don’t even know if I’m ovulating properly so have started with OPKs this month to see. So far just a lovely blank circle each morning Hmm fab.

I tracked ov the first month and got a positive opk 16 days before AF. I only didn't check this month as was trying to be relaxed but it didn't work for me haha.
I know I geared up to O from the positive and I got some pains but I don't chart so I have no way to know for sure. I'm due af tomorrow and have a feeling she's going to be late but still turn up.

Mine are not as long but are regular at 35 days. Never been on bc, but they've always been that long. I'm due tomorrow, no chance of being pregnant as didn't dtd during ovulation. It's so frustrating knowing I have 20+ days before my ovulation

HippychickRM · 30/03/2018 14:26

I used opks and ovulated on day 21, prior to that I had two cycles with no non flashing smiley

gossipgirl28 · 30/03/2018 17:39

I came off the pill in Dec 2017. It took 44days for AF to appear and after 67 days my second AF has appeared today! Xoxo

TheTittifersHaveSungTheirSong · 30/03/2018 18:40

@Coconutty89 any sign of AF yet? So frustrating isn’t it!

Coconutty89 · 30/03/2018 20:48

no sign yet nope! had brown spotting every 4 or days literally once a day when I wipe for the last two weeks. very odd.

@gossipgirl28 seems we have similar issues then! xxx

My cycles are also really long. I came off the mirena coil in august last year and so far my cycles have been 86 days, 56 days and 60 days. Haven't managed to successfully track ovulation yet but apparently I could still be ovulation I just haven't tracked long enough to find out

IndieRar · 30/03/2018 23:22

My cycles are around 50-115 days. We were TTC for three years. It happened though and when I least expected it. Did regular opk and basal temp but when I got pregnant I'd given up on all that and we were just dtd three times a week. Dr had prescribed Metformin but I didn't want to take it. It apparently regulates cycles well.

Got a lovely little boy now. Smile

gossipgirl28 · 30/03/2018 23:53

@Coconutty89

Yes it looks like we are very similar. I saw my gp a few weeks ago about having long cycles and they referred me to gynaecology. I saw a consultant last week and they said it's very normal to have irregular cycles when coming off birth control and that they won't do anything for a year minimum.
I used OPKs after my first AF in jan and temp tracked which showed I ovulated. Think me and oh missed DTD at my peak time, are you using OPKs or temp tracking. Xx

Coconutty89 · 31/03/2018 11:06

@indieRar that's lovely to hear it happened for you 💐

@gossipgirl28 I'm thinking of trying Soy isoflavones. I don't want to wait a year at all! still no sign of af. not even slightly bloated so clearly not impending af.
soy is supposed to be natures Clomid so I'm thinking of trying it- need to research if it's ok to take it mid cycle with long cycles or have to wait for af! I'm not temp tracking or using OPKs (anymore) as I got too obsessive with the OPKs. I am going to start tracking though xx
