Opk as Hpt?

Just wondering if anyone has had a positive opk when AF was due and it turned out you were pregnant?
Have been googling there's mixed answers!
No chance to get a hpt this weekend so I poas with opks and they have got progressively darker. AF is due tomorrow. Top photo is from today. I've never had a strong positive like that even when I'm ovulating, not sure what to think!

From what i've read the hormones are very similar so they can detect pregnancy but you can also get a LH surge just before AF.
I'm not sure if an LH surge would give a strong positive or not though which is why I was hoping to hear other peoples stories about it.

If I was betting I would bet you are upduffed, mine looked like that . It will pick up HCG as well as LH.

Oh really headstone? Did you get a positive opk before your bfp? Going to go get a test as soon as the kids are at school tomorrow.

It happened to me. I was meant to test every day for a month as I have pcos and sometimes you can have stranfe ovulation tests results I realised I was getting stronger and stronger positives and my husband made me poas 😁 our lovely two year old is singing to her self right now

I had a faint line on a hpt, so I thought I'd see what would happen if I peed on an opk and it looked like your last one. You wouldn't really get such a strong line like that before af normally.

I've been on these boards long enough to have seen this question asked many, many times. I'm sorry, but it's not indicative either way. Many people get an lh surge in the days before af, but indeed opks can pick up pregnancy. You won't know which one this is until taking an hpt.

Yes I had a positive OPK when I had my ectopic, then took a pregnacy test and it was positive x

physicskate is correct though, you need to take a pregnacy test to be sure.

With both of my pregnancies I got a strong positive on an OPK, went to buy a HPT and it can’t back positive.

This is the OPK on the day my period was due when I was pregnant....

Bfn on the hpt so now I have no idea what's going on! Have ordered some ic so will wait for them to arrive and keep doing opks in the meantime. I wish I had tracker opks all month so I knew if I'd already ovd or not. Might jump DH just incase!

I always got a positive (or near positive) on an OPK just before my period arrived.

Was your line darker than the test line Primera? I've never had a line that dark on a opk even when I've ov'd and gotten pregnant before, that's whats confusing me.

When I had my strong OPK (as attached to my earlier post) it was the day my period was due and when I took the HPT the line was really faint (as pictured) whereas I expected to get a really strong line because the OPK had been so strong.

There's really no point in trying to read the tealeaves with an OPK as lots of people get an LH surge right before their period. An OPK is only useful in the middle of your cycle and only to indicate your (probable) ovulation: at the end of your cycle it doesn't tell you anything definitively. If you want to know if you're pregnant you really need a pregnancy test.

I used loads of OPK's as I was sure I wasn't pg (wasn't trying), and I couldn't get to a pharmacy - they were all 'negative'.

When I did get to a hpt a day or so later, it was as clear as day (+ve).

Definitely didn't work for me.

Today's update. Two bfns and another ridiculously dark +opk. So who knows. I don't think I'm pregnant anyway but God knows what's going on with my body?!

I see something too on those pregnancy tests. Have you got a FRER you can test with. And I got positive OPK’s when I was pregnant too x
