I had my scan at the hospital today for polyps and fibroids. I’ve been referred to gynaecology as they found a cyst in a cyst inside my left ovary (daughter cyst). I paid privately for lots of scans in November and I told them I was concerned about a cyst on my left side and that I had discomfort on that side. They said there was no cyst and the pain would have been from my bowel. I’m sure I haven’t been but I just feel ripped off to now find that I do have a cyst on that side. My right ovary is 4cm but my left is 19cm due to the cyst inside. I’m due to hear back from my dr next week with regards to next steps. I’m just upset as was so confident they weren’t going to find anything because all my private tests came back fine. So god knows what this means for our fertility journey right now... 😩

Bambamber · 11/04/2018 20:37

@TwittleBee didn't know that thank-you!

Sorry to hear that @Peanut1980 could it have come up after your private scan, or do you think that because of the pain you was in it was already there and they missed it?

Peanut1980 · 11/04/2018 22:04

@bambamber thank you. I’m not really sure. I’m sure they would have noticed it had it of been there before. It’s just all a bit odd and I’m no cyst expert but it just seems to be quite large. I just want another baby but also, I just want to be well for my son 🙏 Our NHS are amazing so I have every faith in them getting it sorted. I’ll just have to wait and see what the next steps are xx

Pinklily1 · 11/04/2018 22:48

Peanut, sorry to hear about your cyst. Have you had a cyst before? Hope the next week goes as quick as possible for you until your appointment FlowersCake

Geegee, this is my first cycle off the pill so not really sure when’s AF is due. Working off my last withdrawal bleed, Ovia and Fertility Friend say around 15/16th. We only managed to DTD once in my FW, partly as we are supposed to just be taking a ‘not preventing’ approach this month as it’s our first month post pill and I wanted one natural period really to help with dating etc when I do get a BFP. I’m realistic and don’t hold out much hope this month anyway. Just want AF to come and be gone ASAP so we can crack on and try properly!

How is everyone else doing?

CatRen27 · 12/04/2018 07:20

Hey peanut sorry to hear you feel let down by your private scan lot, that does sound pretty odd. I have a cyst on my left ovary and even though i had a lap done to remove a polyp they just left the cyst saying it was "functional", meaning i am still ovulating normally. Are you sure they need to remove it?

I'm otherwise doing ok. Peeing on sticks every morning to no avail (feeling ok about it) and saw the specialist this morning who has referred me to a fertility clinic. The costs are so high i don't know if we'll go down that route so need to really hash it out with dh tonight.

I did a test this afternoon and it has the faintest shadow which turned up straight away (i.e. not the evap line from hours sitting on the bathroom counter not that i over analyse them hours after they're actually valid ) so I'll poas again tomorrow. Love internet cheapies! I'll be 11dpo tomorrow.

Hi ladies. I remember being pregnant with my son and having a small cyst then. I’m not sure whether they need to remove this one yet. I had no idea what they’ll do. I’m hoping it will just disappear. It’s just the blimin size of it. The cyst is 16cm and has a smaller daughter cyst inside it. There was some fluid somewhere else down there too but I can’t really remember that. My head was just overloaded with info. Fingers crossed it will just disappear 🤞

Just managed to dtd as we’re going away for a couple of days to a glamping pod with our son. Haven’t ovulated yet but hoping that will still happen. My husband has been great and did lots of research last night on different supplements I can take to try and reduce the cyst so I’ve ordered lots of stuff.

@catren27 oh I really hope this is your month. You’re so lovely and supportive to everyone else 🤞🤞🤞

CatRen27 · 12/04/2018 08:02

peanut aww thanks that's really sweet. I hope so too, but not getting hopes up - more self preservation..! Have fun glamping, sounds really fun

CatRen27 oh I hope that it turns into a line for sure in the morning! FX that this is your month and so the fertility clinic isn't even a route you need to consider.

Peanut1980 FX that something gets sorted in regards to your cyst - I know my auntie had a large cysts that she ended up having removed (but they advised her to wait till she had finished making all the babies she wanted as they had to take that particularly ovary with it). Must feeling gutting about the Private potentially having missed it!

Pinklily hope AF (or a BFP!) turns up for you soon so you can get on track with it all soon. Pain in the arse all this coming off contraceptive! Im glad I haven't bothered with any - just seems like recently finishing BFing is what's maybe messing me up?

I'm feeling hopeful, had what could be an implantation dip along with some spotting this morning. Super trying to not get ahead of myself though as I am only 5dpo....

HidCat · 12/04/2018 08:31

@Peanut1980 your DH sounds really sweet, enjoy your holiday!

🤞@TwittleBee and @CatRen27!

sodababy2 · 12/04/2018 08:59

Morning all, sorry been slightly awol.

Sorry about the cyst @Peanut1980 , how frustrating re the private scan!

Fingers crossed for you @CatRen27

I got a bfn on FRER yesterday (11dpo) so feeling pretty down to be honest. So much for being super fertile after miscarriage.

Not doing any more testing. AF due Saturday.

mayago · 12/04/2018 09:54

I'm sorry about the BFN soda. Hopefully it's just too early, and Saturday will creep up quickly to give you a better answer!

Twittle that sounds promising! Fingers crossed!

Peanut that is so frustrating with the private scan. Pain from your bowel? That's a bit of a fob off, surely. Are you still having pain now? I've had PCOS, which went away before I started TTC. I had an internal scan years ago showing ovaries absolutely riddled with cysts, and when I was newly pregnant they were absolutely clear. I guess they can just go, and hopefully this is what will happen with you!

CatRen that sounds promising too! Fingers crossed for tomorrow. Do you have a FRER?

Geegee and Mumma I hope the TWW goes quickly for you!

SJB90 · 12/04/2018 13:23

Sorry about your BFP @soda fingers crossed it's just too early to test!!

Fingers crossed for you too @catren

Hope the supplement help @peanut and that everything is still okay for you to continue ttc x

I've got a question, has anyone ever experienced any strange urges in previous pregnancies?
I might sound like a lunatic but I cant shift the thought of wanting to do a handstand it's doing my head In 😂 I told my husband last night whilst watching tele that I really wanted to do a handstand against the wall and he looked at me strange for a moment and then said ' and so it begins' before reminding me that i did this with my last pregnancy (resulted in miscarriage) and also with my son but that was quartwheels haha, that was in the second trimester though and after doing it I vommited everywhere 🤦‍♀️

Here's to hoping my crazy is a good sign!

TwittleBee · 12/04/2018 13:34

SJB90 haha no never had any urges like! But certainly sounds promising!! FX

I am craving pickled onion monster munch mixed with bacon rashers crisps - never normally like them but scoffed them throughout pregnancy with DS.... probably just my mind being crazy

SJB90 · 12/04/2018 15:05

@twittlebee I've never had any food cravings lol, random urges maybe my thing 😂 I also get really weird dreams but i think everyone does dont they! But FX this is a good sign..

This month is the first month I've used OPKs and I ovulated earlier than I thought i would, im thinking im thinking thats because AF showed up earlier last month for the first time in years. According to Ovia I can POAS in 7 days but im not due AF for another 14, does this sound right? I thought youre meant to wait for AF to be late unless you buy a FR x

TwittleBee · 12/04/2018 15:13

SJB90 you can usually POAS at around 11/12dpo. How many dpo are you? And yes strange dreams! I remember those, super vivid too! And for me they were always pregnancy/baby related haha

Peanut1980 · 12/04/2018 15:37

@SJB90 I’ve never had any strange urges. That made me chuckle 🤣

YassQueen · 12/04/2018 17:08

BFN on an IC today. Think I'm 10dpo so I know it's early but I feel like it hasn't happened this month so I'm a bit gutted :( got baby bombed yesterday by someone who knows I had a MC but thought it'd be great to send a scan picture of her twins Hmm so I feel crap.

SJB90 · 12/04/2018 17:27

@twittlebee I'm 4-5 dpo not sure entirely cause I had strong pains on both sat and Sunday on different sides so time shall tell.

@peanut 😂🙈 FX it's pregnancy/hormone related because im gonna start questioning my sanity if not 😂

@yassqueen really sorry to hear about that I know exactly how you feel I've had my younger sister wings her ass off her entire pregnancy and had to bite my tongue on many occassion although I know she doesnt really mean any harm & forgers that it's quite hard to hear.

Hopefully it's too early for you to tell yet. FX xx

Mumma100 · 12/04/2018 23:37

@sodababy2 sorry about the bfn 😔, so frustrating, you’re not out until AF shows up though! With DS I didn’t get a bfn until I was 10 days late!

@twittlebee sounds promising! Sending baby dust your way!

So the two official starts for me now, I’m only going by ovia, no idea when I Od, I know my cervix is really low, soft and pretty open (sorry tmi) ewcm not loads though, so hopefully ocia got my fertile week right!

I don’t seem to have any symptoms of O though, I’ve been on contraception since I was 16 (28 now) fell pregnant with ds one very fast once off the implant, so no clue really what my cycle actually is! So fx ovia is right!

TwittleBee · 13/04/2018 06:15

SJB90 you you could probably test in 7 days but best to wait 10 as then you'll be 14dpo which usually gives 99% accuracy (if ovulation was correct) - I was reading this thing about how roughly 20% of women think they're period is late are wrong because they haven't calculated when they ovulate correctly or they didn't realise it the luteal phase that has a constant length not the whole cycle.

Mumma100 if you see anymore EWCM then DTD just to make sure! In regards to cervix positioning, usually it's high and hard to reach during fertile window. Maybe it hasn't got round to closing and firming up yet?

Geegeegirl · 13/04/2018 08:03

@sodababy FX that you are testing too early.

According to Clue (app I use) I should have ovulated yesterday. We will probably DTD this weekend as well to try and cover any late Ov.

AF due 26th. I really hope it doesn't arrive! I am going to try not to test or symptom spot this month as for the last 5/6 cycles I have driven myself crazy in the week leading up to AF. I will probably need you all to remind me of that in the days to come!

Good luck to everyone testing soon and hope the TWW passes quickly for you too @Mumma100. Are you planning on testing early or waiting for AF to be late?

sodababy2 · 13/04/2018 09:14

AF for me today. Gutted Sad

Thanks for your support this month. Hope I don't see you on the May bus!

TwittleBee · 13/04/2018 09:31

sodababy2 oh no Sad I am so sorry! FX for next cycle lovely xx

Mumma100 · 13/04/2018 09:44

@twittlebee oh I didn’t realise that, thought it would make sense to be lower so soerm didn’t have to travel so far! Maybe I missed it then, although it was pretty open. We will find out in 2 weeks!

@geegeegirl I think I’m going to wait, last month I was testing from 7dpo and drive my self crazy, and spent so much money on tests! It didn’t let theb my period was something like 12 days late. I have brought loads of internet cheapies though which I know are hit and miss but at least they are cheap. I’m going on a hen do to marbs in June so I think that’s helping me feel a little less inanse about needing to get pregnant as well

TwittleBee · 13/04/2018 09:53

Mumma100 tends to be higher because of how the lil swimmers get wooshed out and fly towards the back I guess? Tbf they are super fast and if you have good fertile cervical mucus then they'll ge there no problem surely?

Oh also! I was watching this documentary when studying biology which was about penises ( Blush will lways remember this video lol) and it was saying how penises are shaped to scoop semen out of the vagina (why the bell-end is shaped the way it is) - the thought being that if a female had been ejaculated in by a rival then the next male can scoop the semen out before depositing its own. Not sure how much this applies to now considering spermies can reach the cervix in 5 minutes... But this cycle I shared that information with DP and so he didn't thrust anymore once he ejaculated lol!
