Following on from our last (many) threads, this is one for anyone hoping for a Christmas baby number two.

My stats -

Age: 35
Cycle: 24+ lost count..
DC: 3yo this month
AF due 19th April
Not a hint of a bfp in that time

I'm charting now and send myself crazy every tww so come join me for the bumpy ride x

HidCat FCK! Just realised you are right! Means ones I have indoors already must be too NOOOOOOO! Why would we need a Rapid response bloody hell!

Anyone know if its usual to ovulate a few days earlier than normal btw? Wonder if the relaxation of not being at work for 5 days is bringing ov on earlier for me? Had lots of EWCM today and had a skin break out yesterday (which usually happens 3 days before ov)

Knittinggurl · 04/04/2018 13:54

Thanks @TwittleBee and @CatRen27 - fingers crossed for you too - and everyone else on here

No I didn't struggle with DD, it was quick - I got really lucky and I'm only realising now how lucky I was. Rationally I knew it was really likely to take longer a second time but in my heart I'd got my hopes up unrealistically high. Wishing Baby dust for everyone this month

CatRen27 · 04/04/2018 14:15

Hey twittle yep we dtd every day for 4 days before ov so i think we're in the running! And yes the date of ov can definitely change, what's usually stable is the length of your luteal phase so af should always arrive the same number of days after ov. Mine ranges from cd16-19

Knittinggurl bless you, I am the same, DS was an accident (one time no protection was used too!) so certainly was shocked this is taking so long. Can't believe that its so common to take over a year to conceive still.

CatRen27 ah thank you! Perhaps my cycle will be going back to being short like it was a few years ago! Used to be 26/27 days past year its been 29/30 days

mayago · 04/04/2018 15:44

Twittle I've come to realise the First Response tests in the pink wrappers are FRERs, and the white ones are FRRR. And you can guess what I have multiples of upstairs Hmm..

largepinotplease · 04/04/2018 17:18

Hi All, I'd like to jump on board if I may 😬

Age:29
DS 18months

Been off the pill since late November but didn't officially start ttc until January. I really thought last month was the one but unfortunately not. I ovulated last Thursday and I'm just coming to the end of the first week of the tww. I can test on the 12th as AF due the 13th (all according to my app) as I have a 31 day cycle (again according to the app) I'm really hoping for a bfp this time as it'd be lovely to have a Christmas baby. It only took 3 cycles to conceive DS but it's been harder to find the time and energy this time round 🙈

Good luck all 🤞🏻

CatRen27 · 05/04/2018 04:15

Hello largepinot and welcome! Love your name Wine It's crazy how different #2 can be isn't it, it only took 3 cycles to conceive DD and 20+ months on I'm STILL HERE.. Hopefully it's a christmas bub for you! If we conceived this cycle the due date is 25 Dec haha.. ohhh dear. I'll also start testing on the 13th I think (10dpo) and go from there. AF due around the 15th I think as I ov'd slightly earlier than previous months.

HATE the tww.. I've got a tonne of work to do but work from home so am spending most of my time thinking about it. I'll be a mess next week!

TwittleBee · 05/04/2018 07:42

largepinotplease hey there! FX for you that you wont have to be on this bus beyond this cycle as you get the xmas baby you want Smile

Haha I am so worried about Xmas baby CatRen keep thinking about maybe we should put this cycle on pause but cant bring myself to suggest it to DP. If we fall this cycle DD would be 1st Jan (my birthday!) which is nice but I fear #2 will come early like #1! And as for the TWW, I am just a mess the whole cycle apart from when AF is around haha!

sodababy2 · 05/04/2018 16:54

Welcome @largepinotplease and @Knittinggurl

Oh no on the tests @mayago! I'd be wasting more money on FRERS..... When are you due to test?

I think I'm 5dpo today. Got acupuncture tomorrow and feeling ok at the moment but I know the crazy will set in properly next week

Pinklily1 · 05/04/2018 21:18

Welcome to largepinot and knittinggurl.

Who is our next tester?!

Soda, is the acupuncture to help with TTC? I've heard that that and reek can have benefits.

newmama2018 · 05/04/2018 21:56

Hi everyone! How are we all this evening?

I had my laparoscopy yesterday and wondering if it's worth BD tonight as I'm cd9 or if this month won't work because of the dye.

sodababy2 · 05/04/2018 22:05

Yes pink acupuncture is for fertility. I'm not really certain I believe it but it makes me feel like I'm doing something.

On the other hand I got pregnant with DD on second month of acupuncture after 8 months TTC before then. Same this time round - tried for 4 months then did acupuncture and got BFP 2 months later (but obviously lost it). She also knew I was pregnant this time too. So maybe there is something in it?

sodababy2 · 05/04/2018 22:07

Sorry @newmama2018 not sure what a laparoscopy is. Is it for fertility? Isn't there a test where they put dye round your tubes and it can help fertility as it flushes everything out?

newmama2018 · 05/04/2018 22:10

@sodababy2 it's where they do keyhole surgery under general anaesthetic to look inside your tubes. They flush it out with dye to check for blockages and I had endometriosis cut away too. I have three little incisions because they had to use more than the camera.

Just don't know if it's worth getting it on tonight and having practice sex. I'm cd9 so shouldn't be ov yet but not sure if the surgery will make it a dud month anyway.

sodababy2 · 05/04/2018 22:12

Did they say anything about sex @newmama2018? I'd probably give your body a bit of a chance to heal but if you don't want to miss a cycle then maybe just wait a few days if CD9 is early for you?

mayago · 05/04/2018 22:13

I'm due to test Saturday if I'm following Ovia. AF due around the 11th! And yes, I have bought a pack of FRERs... Cramps and spots mean I'm obviously preggo, so yes, the crazy has already set in here Wink

I'd BD newmama. It can't hurt, unless it's not comfortable for you, of course.

newmama2018 · 05/04/2018 22:15

@mayago it means waiting up till 1am till the golf finishes and I didn't sleep last night. I'll work through the pain though 😆 it hurts a lot I won't lie. Just don't know if this month is a write off

newmama2018 · 05/04/2018 22:18

@sodababy2 due to endometriosis my cycle is in two parts and I have two ovulation peaks and two periods. I usually ovulate anywhere between day 8 and day 20 so it's not exact. Ovia says I'm a 7.5 today and my opk are not dark yet.

Online research has mixed reviews. I'm not sure OH wants to do anything because it was o my yesterday I had surgery. After three years though I'm reluctant to miss a month.

sodababy2 · 05/04/2018 22:21

See how you feel then @newmama2018 - I understand the feeling of not wanting to miss a cycle though. Rooting for you!

Pinklily1 · 05/04/2018 23:03

That’s interesting soda. I obviously meant reiki too and not reek in my earlier post!!

newmama, if I was me I’d probably skip DTD tonight because I wouldn’t want to with the pain! But totally understand you don’t want to miss the opportunity either! I’d be telling OH he needed to miss the golf though!

may, embrace the crazy!!

Bambamber · 05/04/2018 23:16

Hi ladies

Age:27
DD: 12 months
Cycles: still not here!

May not be around long, looks as though I now need my gallbladder out! So will be testing in the next couple of days and then will have to think about having a break until we know more Sad

@newmama2018 when I had my laparoscopy for endo I was told not to have sex for at least 2 weeks. It sent my cycle doolally and had a fair bit of bleeding. Give your body a little break if you can, one of my incisions opened back up after 10 days as I tried doing too much too soon. They say it normally takes at least 48 hours to fully recover from the GA alone

CatRen27 · 05/04/2018 23:28

Hey @newmama2018 I also was told to wait a couple of weeks before having sex after my lap. I was in considerable pain every day for those two weeks and I was noooooowhere near dtd. I was also bleeding for most of that time (plus the dye). I think maybe give your body a little rest to recover? And as @bambamber said, the GA is still well and truly in your system - I was in bed for a couple of days sleeping it off. But I'm probably a massive wuss when it comes to this stuff!

Hi bambamber! Sorry to hear you're going to have to have surgery, that sounds rough. Are you in pain with gallstones? If you get your BFP what will happen then? Fingers crossed for you!

We're 3dpo.. I'm already feeling the crazy setting in soda.. and mayago you had spotting?! That's kind of interesting, no...?!

Think I'll book in for some acupuncture next cycle. I had it during pregnancy with DD to bring on labour and I quite enjoyed it. It had zero effect but even then I felt it was me 'doing something'. (turns out I needed a pessary, gel and drip to induce me at DD+13... she was waaay too comfy in there!)

Gillian1980 · 06/04/2018 00:09

Hi all, can I join you? 😊

Age: 38.
DD: 2.8
Cycle: 2

Was on the pill since dd was a month old and came off it in February to try for number 2. Took 3 cycles with dd, but who knows this time round.

Had spotting today and some cramping so thought it may be implantation.... but that could be wishful thinking! AF due on 13th.

newmama2018 · 06/04/2018 00:39

@CatRen27 @Bambamber I will see what OH wants to do. I have stopped bleeding, the pain is minimal and I was busy today doing the garden, washing, shopping, softplay duty even before my 24hrs were up. All my incision points have stopped bleeding and my neck/shoulder pain from the co2 has subsided. Although after a 52hr labour when DS was born I was home within 8hrs and shovelling snow off the drive and getting the dinner on 💪🏻

The consultant said "crack on asap" when I asked about ttc again but not sure he meant "tomorrow night" cracking on 😆 OH will probably chicken out as he is terrified of hurting me

Bambamber · 06/04/2018 01:33

@CatRen27 I certainly am, but luckily no signs of any kind of infection so that's a relief at least. So they have put me on a low fat diet for now and got to go back in a couple of weeks and if I'm still in considerable pain then she said the best option will likely be removal. I'm not sure to be honest, I did mention to the consultant that I'm TTC but she didn't seem bothered. I think because I'm otherwise healthy and no signs of other complications they would just keep me on an extremely low fat diet until I gave birth if I was pregnant. I have heard of women having it removed during pregnancy but I think that's more extreme cases where there is complications. I'm kind of in 2 minds with it. 1 half of me thinks just keep TTC and we will worry about it later, and the other half of me thinks maybe it would be good to take a break, get the gallbladder sorted have treatment for my endo again and by then I may have actually started ovulating. But I don't know, I desperately would like to be pregnant but I'm honestly scared I wouldn't cope with being in so much pain on top of looking after a young child while pregnant. I'm already struggling to pick up my DD sometimes. But we will see, it will come right in the end.

Did the acupuncture hurt? I have always heard good things about it but have always been too scared

@newmama2018 good luck whenever you decide to go for it!
