HI there mummies,

Has anybody had a hycosy test before? Me and my partner have been ttc for about 2 years now and hasn't happened as of yet for us. My periods are all over the place. I have long cycles (46 plus with the exception of last month being 48 days) my Dr's referred me to a gyno who has got me a hycosy test. I have to book in after this period comes (not due to end of the month..) has anyone had a hycosy test done and managed to get pregnant after it?? I've read online that the months following the test makes you extremely fertile which I'm kinda holding on to the hope that that is actually the case and we get our little miracle.
Any advice about anyone who's gone through similar would be amazing.

Many thanks

Xx

We’ve been ttc for 18 months. I had a HyCoSy last month. Everything was fine. It hasn’t made me any more fertile as I’ve just started my period. It can make you more fertile if you had any small blockages in your tubes but otherwise I don’t think it’s particularly reliable as a way to help with conception. Good luck!

I thought you had to wait until you had your period to have the hycosy to make sure that your definitely not pregnant??
My cycles are so long that technically speaking I'm not due on till the end of March so do I just hold out or call up and ask about getting booked in x

You can have a HyCoSy done at any point in your cycle but if you have it done mid-cycle then you have to refrain from having sex in case you end up pregnant. I’m not sure how it works with irregular cycles, you’re best speaking to your GP. But as long as you don’t ttc the month of your HyCoSy and you aren’t on your period at the time of it, you should be fine to have one done

I had it done. Not going to lie it hurt but was over quickly. A couple of months later I was due to start clomid and norethisterone wasn't working to bring on a period, turned out I was pregnant. That baby is now 7 and I conceived my 2nd within 2 months. With pcos and low sperm count.
I do believe the procedure flushed something out or helped something to happen. It showed no problems. Good luck- take a painkiller beforehand Flowers
