Hi all
I've been TTC#1 for 3 months now and have been using cheapie internet OPKs. I'm not convinced I have ovulated yet so bought one of the advanced clear blue sets just to put my mind at ease for this cycle.
Fertility friend says I'm likely to ovulate today and my CB kit arrived last night. So in my excitement I tested this morning with FMU. But it was a blank circle.
I've since read that always happens the first time you test so it was a bit wasted!
However when I removed the tear from the read there were two blue lines which were the same depth of colour.
Does anyone know what this means? I can't seem to find the answer anywhere!

I've had this. I think it takes a few days for it to set a baseline. I've had positive cheapies but blank circle on the CB ones, where it was the first time I'd used those. Then the next day straight to solid smiley faces. Next month I plan to use them earlier to get the flashing smileys.

@Daffodil77 thank you! Do you have any idea what the lines mean?

When I’ve had static smileys and pulled the stick out there’s 2 lines - is DTD just in case tbh - like the other poster said, it takes a few to get a base - you’re losing nothing by DTD today but if you don’t and it is peak time you may miss it. Good luck!

Mine always have two blue lines when it is a static smilie. When it's a blank circle there's just the one line, flashing smilie is one line and a faint second line which gets darker closer to peak. You could always do another one later in the day and you might see a flashing or static smilie. Although it depends if you were already at peak this morning I guess it might not show up on a later test.

Well that all sounds like it might be a peak opk then...?! We had already DTD so all covered on that front Grin

I may be wrong but aren't you meant to start using them on a specific day of your cycle so it can get a baseline?

I think they work the same as normal opk's so 2 dark lines sounds good for ovulation.Smile

jemimafuddleduck · 18/03/2018 14:16

@piraterach Yes you are supposed to... I just got a bit excited when they arrived and didn't read the instructions properly Blush

I did exactly the same Grin. After trying loads of opk's it was this type that finally told me I had a 7 week cycle and got me my BFP. Fingers crossed for you Smile

jemimafuddleduck · 18/03/2018 15:36

@piraterach Thank you! There's so much conflicting info on the internet and the Clearblue website gives no direction around the lines, only the digital display!

I'm using these too (first time trying for no 2). I've had 12 days of flashing smiley so defo started mine too early. Mine have always had two lines when I've had a look but one is much lighter. Good luck. X
