Pill confusion

I should have taken my 5th pill of the pack last night but didn’t as it was making me feel sick. Went to GP today to get the mini pill and will start taking that tonight. So in effect I’ve ‘missed’ one pill.
But... me and OH had sex last night. First time in a couple of weeks. Am I at risk of getting pregnant if a) I start the new pill today and b) don’t have unprotected sex for the next week?

You are at risk. And even if you start the new (different) pill tonight you are not protected. If you start the mini pill on a day which is not day 1 of your cycle you are not protected for the first seven days.

Yes I know. But because I had sex last night and didn’t take that pill, is there a chance I’ll get pregnant from last night?

I would err on the side of caution and assume you could get pregnant (although it is probably unlikely) - can you get to a chemist for the MAP?

I could, but I’m reluctant to take that. It would be ‘inconvenient’ if I were to fall pregnant, but not horrendous, if that makes sense?!
Basically, I’m wondering if I should hold off taking the new pill incase I am(pretty unlikely though)?

No point in holding off on the new pill. It won't do any harm to a baby anyway - its a tiny amount of hormone compared to what ends up sloshing around your body when you are pregnant!

I would still take your new pill and use condoms for the next 7 days. As Couchpotato has said, it's really only a small amount of hormone - baby would be fine if it has been conceived :)
