Progesterone blood tests - any help appreciated!

Hi all,

Bit of a long shot here, but I'm hoping someone can help me out.

I'm currently ttc #2 and have established that I have a short luteal phase (5/6 days - I ovulate around day 22/23 of a 28 day cycle).

My doc sent me for the standard day 5 and 21 bloods and they've come back with her commenting 'ovulation unlikely this cycle'. According to BBT and CM I ovulate day 22 this cycle.

My question is this: is the level of progesterone in the blood more reliable than BBT etc? I'm not sure if I should believe the blood tests over my own measurements etc is all.

Thanks for reading, any advice etc will be much appreciated!

The blood test is better. A result above 30 confirms ovulation. Best taken 7 days after ovulation.

Try vit b (b6 specifically) to lengthen luteal phase.

Thanks @physicskate - I assumed the bloods would be more reliable. I don't often get to 7 days after ovulation so will get onto the b6 and see if that lengthens the luteal phase too.
