I’m so scared

I’m 7 weeks pregnant, I had a miscarriage last November and today I’ve started getting shooting pains in my lower abdomen, there’s no blood or anything. I’m terrified it’s the start of another miscarriage. But everything I’m scared of.

Pregnancy after miscarriage is never the same, is it? Have you had any other DC OP? If so, you'll know that the next nine months will be full of aches and pains too - there's so much going on in your body. Try not to worry. I know it's hard but today you are pregnant! Congratulations.

Hi OP, just wanted to say that around the 8-10 week mark I got really bad shooting pains in my lower abdomen to the point that I was convinced I would see blood when I went to the loo. I never did, and was told it was stretching pains. Am now 25 weeks x I know it’s hard but try to relax and take care of yourself x

Pregnancy after MC is a complete headfuck. I had two MCs in between DC1 and this pregnancy (I'm now 27 weeks) I almost gave myself a UTI because I barely drank anything as I was convinced that if I went to the toilet, I would see blood.

Try to remember that there's a lot going on down there at the moment, so aches and twinges are totally normal, and for some women, even some bleeding can be normal. I also found it useful to keep telling myself that this pregnancy is a different egg and a different sperm, so there is absolutely no reason for this pregnancy to be anything like previous failed ones.

Could be round ligament pain. Most people don't get it til second trimester but I had it from early on in first two pregnancies and am now 6+5 and have it now. It's a shooting pain on either side of lower abdomen. It's the ligaments that hold your uterus stretching with the added pressure
