Could it be implantation or early period?

My husband and I have been trying for number 2 for a year now and I’ve had 3 early miscarriages since July, the first at 6+5 weeks and the other 2 both at just over 4 weeks.
We have an appointment at the recurrent miscarriage clinic on 20th March but we’re told there’s no harm in continuing to TTC in the meantime.
I’ve been doing OPKs and had positives on days 14 + 15 so we DTD both days and the day before. My cycle is normally 28 - 30 days but I had some v light spotting yesterday (day 24) and started what I thought was my period very late last night. Sorry for TMI but I’ve continued to bleed all day but it’s really light in colour, no clots and whilst I’ve had some cramps it’s not like my normal periods. I have really heavy periods with clots on the first 2 days so this is much lighter than normal, but I’ve also never had a period this early before.
Could it be implantation? I’ve read some women have a tiny amount of spotting and others bleed heavily during implantation.
Don’t want to get my hopes up but equally I’ve been really tired the last couple of days, I’m really bloated, constipated, slightly nauseous on and off and I keep getting headaches. All of which I had with my other pregnancies.

It's impossible to say. Take a test in a few days...

Implantation is almost always light and most people don’t have any at all. It should be just streaking ( pale pink or brown) and only show on the tissue when you wipe and shouldn’t last long at all. It certainly shouldn’t be heavy enough to question an early period and it should never been enough blood to fill a pad/tampon.

If it is an implantation bleed you should get your positive result over the next couple of days. Good luck x

I don’t think it is implantation bleeding now. It’s much lighter than my normal periods but by the sounds of it too heavy to be implantation. I’ve just been really bloated, tired and nauseous the last few days but that might just be I’m fighting something off.
Oh well, hopefully we can get some answer at the recurrent miscarriage clinic soon 🤞🏻

@mummyjl15

Hi,

I had something very similar. I came off the pill in December 2017 and had first AF in jan. This period was a standard 5 day bleed.
In my fertile week I had EWCM Cd11 and 12 and I got a positive OPK on CD14 and CD15. On cd 21 to 25 I had very light brown bleeding and mild cramps.
Initially I thought it was implantation bleeding but I now know it wasn't as I got bfn tests in weeks afterwards. It was different bleeding to my period in jan as I only needed a panty liner and not tampons.

I've had nothing since and that was 6 weeks ago! I Did have EWCM yesterday and this morning so I wonder if I'm now approaching ovulation?!
Got a negative OPK today. Any advice? X
