I am ttc baby no. 2 (already have a 2 yr old little girl) and am now 8 days late, but yesterday test was negative. After speaking to GP she told me the HCG hormone can take up to 2 weeks after missed period to rise and show up on a test. Has anyone else experienced this? I feel like I'm going mad as never had this problem with 1st pregnancy. Having symptoms; cramps, nausea, hot flushes, dizzy spells and feeling more tired than usual but not having the confirmation is driving me mad! Any advise would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Honestly it is more likely that you simply ovulated later than you normally do. This is a totally normal thing to happen.

Of course, you could still be pregnant as you haven't had af, but delayed ov is a more likely cause.

Update .... so this late ovulation thing that I'd never heard of before must be more common. AF has finally arrived 11 days late. Will just have to wait and see what happens next time! Thanks for advice Smile
