I thought it was brilliant. No periods, no mood swings. Slight weight gain but that was probably more to do with my shitty diet. I got no side effects and got pregnant straight away when I came off it.

Bexter801 · 08/03/2018 15:06

Thanks so much for replying....

I was on it for 5 years, didn’t gain weight, had a ‘period’ every few months and my skin was really clear. I’ve been off it for over two years and haven’t been able to conceive again

DBoo · 08/03/2018 15:12

I bled pretty much consistently on it. Gave it three months then swapped to micronor which is also a mini pill but was fine for me. I did still have periods on that as well though which I know is unusual.

Bexter801 · 08/03/2018 15:13

Spiders, did you ever feel exhausted, and almost everything seems foggy? I am sorry to hear this, have you seen your gp?

ShellsBells76 · 08/03/2018 15:17

No side effects at all except some minor weight gain, in fact I have tried many contraceptives and this was the only one that didn't make me feel sick as a dog and no periods was a definite bonus too!

Thistlebelle · 08/03/2018 15:18

I was on it for a year and got so fed up I switched to a coil.

I had really unpredictable spotting.

KochabRising · 08/03/2018 15:19

I found it fine. Had a mirena pre kids, and was on cerazette between pregnancies.

If you’re feeling foggy you need to go to GP and request some basic bloods - sugars, thyroid, iron, vitamin D and b vitamins.

KochabRising · 08/03/2018 15:21

Also will say what I always do on these threads - contraception is very individual. What suits one woman brilliantly can be a nightmare for another.

See your GP, get some bloods done and if you’re still having issues request a trial of a different pill or method.

Bexter801 · 08/03/2018 15:24

@KochabRising,I guess I'm nervous,as have tried so many, and they've all made me unrecognizable....

KochabRising · 08/03/2018 15:24

Copper coil maybe?

SpidersWilliesOnYourFrillys · 08/03/2018 15:26

@bexter801 I’m normally exhausted day to day Grin but no no difference with the pill. I have seen my gp and awaiting further tests though initial tests on both of us seem ok so it may be unrelated

Stephisaur · 08/03/2018 15:39

I loved it. Had to change to cerazette as it was a Progesterone only pill and the other pills were giving me ridiculous mood swings.

My periods on Cerazette were quite long (7-10 days) but they were starting to get shorter just before I came off it to TTC. These were bliss compared to the 6 week period I had on the implant (most periods on the implant were 2 weeks minimum and I was lucky if I got a week off between them!)

Talk to your doctor about the issues you are having with your current pills, and then they should be able to advise which balance of hormone might be best for you.

Xx

Bexter801 · 08/03/2018 15:47

Thanks Steph,I have tried numerous combined, jag, implanon, mini pill....I just don't know to persevere,or just give my body a break xx

@Thistlebelle do you mind me asking why you got so fed up

gossipgirl28 · 08/03/2018 15:50

Hi

I had no periods on cerazette which was great but now I'm off TTC I've only had 1 period in 3 months. I did find it gave me bad skin though. Implant is better x

LizB62A · 08/03/2018 15:51

It was great - no periods all the time I was on it !

FrolickingForklift · 08/03/2018 15:52

Loved it. No periods all the time I was on it. Once I got over the initial getting used to it (I spotted for a few weeks, that was rough) I had one day where I had a little blood.

No real side effects

Thistlebelle · 08/03/2018 15:58

Bex unpredictable spotting between periods. I put up with it for longer than I should have because I didn’t fancy a coil.

However as the Mirena has been fantastic for me I’m annoyed I wasted all that time!

Stephisaur · 08/03/2018 17:30

@bexter I do believe there is a solution for everyone, but we’re all different. I’ve only been off the pill for a couple of weeks and I feel so different. It’s really weird but in a good way. It might be good to take a break and then talk to your doctor about your options xx

knockknockknock · 08/03/2018 17:36

This is what happened when I went on it

Hideous bleeding most of the time (had never had any abnormal bleeding before)
PMT all the time
Hair thinning
Total lack of libido
Dry eyes to the point my eyelids stuck to my eyeballs overnight.

I was horrendous

StellaWouldYouTakeMeHome · 08/03/2018 17:46

If you mean Cerazette it was awful for me, I bled constantly and it gave me terrible mood swings.

Then I went on Femulen which was ok until I became pregnant with my daughter while on it.

We then used condoms and I eventually became pregnant again with my second.

Now I’m on nexplanon. No different to how I’d normally be. I’ve been on it around 3.5 years and so far no issues.

I think different contraception works for different people

meandmytinfoilhat · 08/03/2018 18:15

I loved this pill. I had no periods and no side effects.

Bexter801 · 08/03/2018 18:32

@StellaWouldYouTakeMeHome I didn't even notice the mispelling :/ probably because I feel away with the fairies! Thanks so much for everyone's replies....
