Metformin and conception

We’ve been trying to conceive for almost a year, had lots of tests done and I have PCOS and don’t ovulate. The gynocologist ruled out clomid for me as I’m overweight, my doctor put me on Metformin, has anyone been on that for PCOS? Has it helped in fertility? As I have read some account of people getting pregnant on it.

Yep, me!
The first time I conceived a year and a half ago I was on metformin but sadly that ended in a mmc.
Then I got fed up of taking it so we were ttc for over 6 months with no luck. Then I started back on the metformin in Nov 2017 and got my bfp in January :) Had an early scan yesterday at 8 weeks and everything is going well xx

I started taking metformin in January 2016 for PCOS after TTC for over a year. I also went on a low GI diet and had acupuncture. I was pregnant by April that year.

Thank you, I’ve only just seen the replies, I’ve only been on it for 3weeks. 500mg for the first week, 1000mg last week and 1500mg this week and carry on with this dose. I desperately need to start on a diet and will get round to it soon. Haha. Or I’ll get my jaw wired...
I’ve had 2 natural pregnancies without any tables, one ended in mc at 21weeks and 2nd resulted in my son who is 4. I am desperate for a baby. It seems so unfair not to be able to have one. I’m glad to hear your success stories. Thank you
